BlueNRG -help with the code

Looking at the examples provided with X-NUCLEO-IDB04R1 I found it difficult to understand all the layers and protocols.

If I want to establish connection with a device and send/receive some data - what function should I use? what files should I look? Is there a manual explaining how high level functions work and what functions I need to perform different tasks?

The package contains some examples, for example chat, that show how to connect two devices and send/receive data.
