Hi,I am developing firmware for an application where in I need to perform an OTA to a higher version (better performance version for instance) and this can keep on continuing, such that I can always update to a higher version from a previous version which was attained using OTA.Currently, I am able to update using the OTA service manager to a Hello world application. However, if I wish to update to another application with OTA services too, how can I do that? I tried following the same code of OTA service into the new application, but that did not work. I tried adding the preprocessor and linker options in the new application specified by ST in their OTA firmware upgrade PDF, but that prevents me from using OTA services & characteristics inside the user code (request callbacks etc.). Please help, many thanks!

Hi ST community;I want to create a project in which I connect USB microphone extern with MCU STM32F4 for recording data.Descriptions of the used sensor: USB accelerometer V2.0 ( according to my understanding, it has the same role as USB microphone). Hello community,I got a project to do as my Master Thesis on Firmware upgrade over the air.I know how to write linker script, bootloader check free space and configure every peripheral etc. What attributes one look for when working with firmware upgrade over the air.This is the first IOT project and I have never worked with bluetooth or any wireless connection (like BLE Wifi, Lorawan etc). So I want your guidance and suggestions on how to build one. I know this is very generalized question, but I want to know how an embedded engineer think and what questions should I ask when building a system to accomplish the objective. For example (security, speed, etc) any inputs will be helping me. I find how to do one the internet but I don't know if any of it is serves real time large scale production. Hi,We are looking for 64-channel ultrasound solution for medical imaging. I found your proposal as in the block diagram, as well as the ICs, like STHV64SW and STHV1600. However, I need much more details in order to move forwards. Do you have the full specs for these two ICs, since what I could find by your website is very brief? Do you also have components for AFE and HV regulator? Thanks in advance​

The DSP28335 processor is used to communicate with the M41T94 real-time clock chip (RTC). The RTC uses SPI for communication. The basic configuration method is to write command + write time, then read command + read time, but the read time is basically unchanged. The year, month, date, and time information (8 bytes) sent by my oscilloscope decoding is shown in Figure 1 below. But when I read the data continuously, it reads all ff or 00, as shown in Figure 2 (channel 1 is sclk, channel 2 is mosi, channel 3 is miso, channel 4 is chip enable). I don't know if the problem occurs because the command is not written in or the hardware is the problem. The hardware is shown in Figure 3. Hope to get your help.

Hi,I'm not new to coding and have worked with C, JAVA and C# over the years. mostly in VIsual Studio for Unity and Ardunio.I am currently using a STM32F411RE board to control a few peripherals (temp, VOC and colour) through I2C and want to display the data on a simple 128x64 dot matrix LCD screen through a SPI communication protocol.This particular screen uses 3 wire SPI, which is fine for this application, all I need to do is write to the screen, no data is required to return on the MISO line.I am required to use the LL settings for this and basically, as per my research, control this using GPIO pins and running a manual clock. I tried to use the MX software to make the SPI1 connectivity a Half_Duplex_Master and (because the CS pin is different in MX as to the datasheet and physical board) the software wanted to choose PA4 as the CS pin.The board, my PCB and the document all show the CS pin (NSS_pin) is PB6 and not PA4. The MX software is automatically selecting PA4 or PA15 for the NS

Hi everybody,I'm using the BlueNRG M2 module on a custom hardware with a separate Host controller. It is a battery driven device so the power consumption should be as low as possible when BLE communication is not needed. The Application Note AN4820 describes the low power modes of the BlueNRG SoC but how can i put the module into the power saving mode over the HAL API?I can not find any API commands to control the power consumption of the BlueNRG over a host controller.What is in general the best practise to save maximum of power without powering off the supply voltage?Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,I am trying to use malloc() in BlueNRG LP as I want to dynamically allocate some memory during runtime (not frequent, only when a set of commands are received via BLE). However, I am not able to allocate memory. The pointer always is returning NULL. I have set the Heap scheme to "Advanced" under project options in IAR Workbench, but am not able to allocate.char * ptr = (char*)malloc(5 * sizeof(char));if (ptr == NULL) return;The above is a code sample. I tried printing the size of character, it returns a huge garbage value for some reason.Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi,I am trying to read the MAC address from a BlueNRG device (345) after setting it via the RF Flasher Tool. However, the corresponding changes are not visible in the advertising parameters. I have used aci_hal_read_config_data() but still no output.The code is  ret = aci_hal_read_config_data(CONFIG_DATA_STORED_STATIC_RANDOM_ADDRESS, (uint8_t*)6, readAddr);I have set the mac address 0x000000000 currently using the tool at a flash address: Base address + flash image + a little offset.Any help would be appreciated! I am working on SensorTile Wireless Industrial Node to ST Dashboard. I am using the software from en.fp-ind-predmnt1_v2.4.0. I have added the device in the dashboard and updated the device certificates and keys. The terminal attempts to establish MQTT connection, but there is no response after this. RegardsAditi Prakash

Hi,Hardware used: STM32L152RE nucleo board and SPSGRF-868  moduleTechnology and OS: 6lowpan and Contiki.Example used: UDP-sender and UDP-receiver.SDK used: Sub-1 GHz RF communication software expansion for STM32Cube I'm developing 6lowpan network using SPIRIT1, where one receiver and 10-12 sender. sender is battery operated, so I need to discover UDP receiver address(ipv6) in as short time as possible then send data.UDP sender is using serverg-hack application to get receiver ipv6 address, it works but it takes 1-2 minutes.after that it sends data to receiver. all i need is to reduce that address detection time. or suggest me a better method.Using SDK example path/STM32CubeExpansion_SUBG1_V3.3.0/Projects/STM32L152RE-NUCLEO/Applications/Contiki/SPIRIT1Thanks in advance.Chand Bhadaniya

If changed char length 450 to 140 now every thing will be fine. but when i put char length 450 or more than 140. I am designing some firmware for a BlueNRG LP (355MC) based device with several sensors. At certain points in the device's processing/lifecycle, I need to turn off the BLE and/or radio to conserve power. In fact, I only need the device to have BLE connection capabilities during a very specific and short window. I don't need any connections until specific event/sensor triggers. The device will be battery powered and conserving energy is essential.I can't seem to find any documentation on how to command or set the chip into an off, disabled, or standby state. All of the sample programs in the DK show initializing and enabling the BLE, but then it runs forever... So, is this possible to turn it off or disable it? Do I just make the device non-connectable and not advertising? Thanks!
