Now and again, following power-up, we find the STS1TX in our product in a state where we cannot interface with it. The SPI and GPIO lines are outputting ~2V levels, so no commands can be sent.Typically, cycling power may allow the chip to initialise correctly, whereafter it then works perfectly for the entire power session.Power application is fast (<45µs to 3.3V) so the internal reset should be working fine. VBat has 1µF, 100nF, 10nF and 270pF decoupling capacitors. Assembly x-rays show no soldering problems.The SDN pin is connected to ground, so we have not tried to toggle it (There is no spare microcontroller port pin, and we also did not expect that this might be necessary.)This is a problem that we have encountered over a number of years, with chips coming from varying distributor sources. Generally users have just toggled the power, but we are needing to solve the problem. Any advise would be very much appreciated.

Hello,I'm doing some development work with an STEVAL-IDB011V1 dev board. I'm targeting very low power and so I would like to verify the numbers listed in the datasheet.In DEEPSTOP mode at room temperature, I am expecting something around1 μA of supply current, per table 24 of the BlueNRG-LP datasheet. However, I'm currently measuring about 5.7 μA at 1.8 V.I'd like to make sure my methodology in measuring this is correct. My procedure is as follows:I flash the board with code that runs SystemInit(), configures all GPIOs to have a pulldown resistor and to output low, and then enter DEEPSTOP. I then unplug the board and remove all jumpers (JP1 - JP5). I connect the positive terminal of my 1.8 V power supply to pin 2 of JP1 (named "VBLUE" in the STEVAL-IDB011V1 data brief) and the negative terminal to ground.I get a somewhat steady 5.7 μA of supply current from my power supply. I also tried connecting VBRD to ground, which changes my supply current to 13.8 μA. I'm not running any timers, s

I am trying to acheive a BLE Mesh system where no network data will be stored to NVM, i.e. system will need to reconfigure on every reset.The network consist of one PRV and a handfull of LPNs, the LPNs will be mobile and will therefore enter and leave different "networks" at a regular basis. This is why a storing static network information to NVM should be avoided.I have been successful with the LPN node but not on the Provisioner side, when I undefine ENABLE_SAVE_MODEL_STATE_NVM (as stated in documentation) I can provision nodes but the following configuration allways fails. Could someone please point out what I am doing wrong?Kind Regards!

hi,I am trying to transmit at maximum power using S2-LP. I set the configuration registers using S2-LP DK Application tool version 1.3.4. I set output power as 14dBm, check the MAX power box, choose HPM mode (in PM mode section), set 1600mV SMPS voltage level. According to datasheet at maximum tx power S2LP consumes about 20mA. However, I did never measure more than 12mA (including STM32L051 uc consumption). After that I opened an example project from CubeMX, project name is "S2868A1_P2P". I also tested with same nucleo board (L053) and reached about 30mA at maximum power. However using the same configuration registers I could not able to reach maximum power.Is there any configuration that I missed?best regards,Can İNEL

Hi, We are developing a project with BLE connectivity, and we are leaning on using BLUENRG-M2SA as a network coprocessor, with a STM32L476 MCU as the host processor. We have been experimenting with X-NUCLEO-BNRG2A1 ( that has BLUENRG-M2SP on it ), and have ported example code ('Central' and 'VirtualCOM') from STM32CubeIDE ( X-CUBE-BLE2.3 SW package) with success. Also, we have used RF-Flasher utility to flash firmware (BLUENRG-M2SP_DTM_SPI.hex from BlueNRG-M2SA_M2SP_DTM_Stack_v2.1c) directly to M2SP, also with success.Finally, we tried unsoldering and replacing M2SP with M2SA on BNRG2A1 development board. However, despite being able to flash BLUENRG-M2SA_DTM_SPI.hex correctly, and while being able to recognize and send commands successfully with BLUENRG-GUI, the X-CUBE-BLE2 examples (particularly 'Central') doesn't work. In fact, it fails on initization. Is there any change in X-CUBE-BLE2 SW that needs to be done, so that projects that run on M2SP also run in M2SA ? I changed the #defi

Hi,I want an application where my device works both Broadcast Role and Observer Role, but y don't know if it is possible. My device shall send Non-connectable and non-scannable undirected events (Broadcaster beacons) and also receive them from other devices (Passive Scanning).I can use this two functionalities in the same BlueNRG-LP or I need two, one with Broadcaster Role and other for Observer Role?Thanks,Daniel

Hello,I am facing a problem while using STEVAL-MKI197V1(https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/steval-mki197v1.html) with Raspberry pi 2 and try to fetch the accelerometer values.I am not able to interface this with Raspberry pi 2. I am using python language for scripting. I am curious if they is anything to be done before interfacing (such as downloading the libraries compatible with Raspberry pi). Since I am new to this process, I would like to know what would be the best approach to interface this sensor and fetch the accelerometer values using python language in Raspberry pi. It would be of great help if anyone has any reference on this and is happy to share.Thanks

Hi all,I'm using for evaluating purpose two NucleoL4 boards w/ X-NUCLEO-BNRG2A1:the first one is running the standard firmware working w/ BlueNRG GUI 4.2.0 (v1.2e - DTM SPI v3.3.0). I setup this board as peripheral;the seconds one is running NimBLE stack on the NucleoL4 and DTM SPI basic firmware compiled w/ LL_ONLY option (in order to use HCI commands).Everything is working as expected: NimBLE is able to scan the peripheral / connect to it / execute pairing.The problem is that after bonding succeed, if I check bonded devices list (on the board running the peripheral role), this is always empty, as shown in the image. As result, if I try to reconnect w/ LTK key just exchanged I got pairing error due to encryption failed.Am I missing something? The BlueNRG-M2SA sends the same advertisement payload on all selected channels. I'm looking for a way to send different advertisement payloads on each channel at the same time (multi-slot advertisement). I need this to send more data via advertisement and I'm looking for a way to use this module to do that.

Hello Everyone, I have my own board. I’m using Keil uVision5 and STSW-BNRGLP-DK DK-1.1.0 software package. I have an issue when I try to migrate my own application from BlueNRG-355MC to BlueNRG-345MC. In the case of communication between STEVAL-IDP003V1 and IO-Link master from ifm. Can I connect STEVAL-IDP003V1 with demo firmware from STM (STSW-IO-LINK) to the IO-Link master from ifm (AL1320) ? or it must use IO-Link master from STM (STEVAL-IDP004V1) to communicate or not ?

Hi.We are developing the 315MHz band using SPIRIT1.After trying with several chips, some chips can and cannot calibrate SPIRIT1.For chips that cannot be calibrated, we solved it by putting a waiting time of 5ms several times while setting the register value before calibration.In this way, is it necessary to put some waiting time in the register value setting and calibration of SPIRIT1?

I'm using STM32L053 to send an SPI data to other compenet. i don't know if the data has been send or not. I don't have an oscilloscope to see the signal.what should i do to know if the data is sent correctly or not?

I have received a response on this which mentions pins 1, 6 & 15 as O/C. What about nReset (pin 8) and AntOff (pin 14)?
