    Hi Mich,

neither SPBTLE-RF nor SPBTLE-RF0 are automotive grade.

As reported in the datasheet for both modules (based on the BLueNRG-MS chip), suitable applications are:

    • Watches
    • Fitness, wellness and sports
    • Consumer medical
    • Security/proximity
    • Remote control
    • Home and industrial automation
    • Assisted living
    • Mobile phone peripherals
    • PC peripherals

Out of curiosity, what kind of application are you targeting? Is it going to be an aftermarket solution?

    Best regards,

    Antonio

    Hi Mich,

for the time being, ST solutions for BLE are not automotive-grade.

For the asset tracking market, depending on the specificity of your case, you may probably need to have an automotive certification, as your solution might interfere with other electronic equipment in the vehicle. Nevertheless, everybody is using smartphones in the car, even if they're equipped with many non-automotive RF components.

Based on your marketing requirements, in case you're not obliged to use automotive parts, I'd suggest to use a module with the newer BlueNRG-1/2 chip, like the
