Is it possible to connect an external eeprom to the SPWF01SA.21 module? The stored eeprom data will be very small >1K and only serve to remember GPIO high or low settings of the modules STM32F103 core that an end user will periodically set if the module loses power. Which interface? I2C, SPI, GPIO, Serial?

You'll get better information if you try the Interface and Connectivity ICs forum.

    Hi Mark,

cannot use an external storage on SPWF01Sx module family. I expect, since external host is mandatory, that storage is directly managed by SPI/I2C from external host.

There is a new product family, called SPWF04Sx, that allows module to be used without external host, and allows also to use and external SPI Flash or an SDCard (there are 3 more pins than SPWF01Sx product family)
