stm32l4 fota

I am trying to demonstrate an over the air firmware update of an STM32L476 (Nucleo) with a X-NUCLEO-IDB041 BlueNRG board.  I see the example for the STM32L1xx, but it is very difficult to port as it uses the old Standard Peripheral Library.  What is the best way to approach this?
