Virtual communication on NUCLEO-32 board

I am writing a firmware to send and receive data to/from hyper terminal using Nucleo-32 board. But my device manager reads COM31 (Virtual communication) as ST-Link. Is there a way in which I can disconnect my ST-link

    In addition to this Can I connect Tranreceiver LTC1387 to USART1 TX(PA9) and RX(PA10)?
