Posted on June 07, 2017 at 15:08Hey,I am trying to use the VL6180x without an API and want to communicate to it directly by I2C. Therefore I use the USBISS. Performing measurements with single shots works fine. I can also read out the results easily by messaging the single registers. But when I try to go into continuous mode, I simply write to the register 0x018 the byte 0x03. After that I try to read out the device by contacting the 0x62-register in a for-loop, having pauses of 100 ms for each read. Sadly this always gives me the first value that has been measured (it's like the device still works in single-shot mode and I am reading out the same result over and over again).I have also set the Intermeasurement period to the smallest value.Am I forgetting something?Thanks in advance and regards!

My question is in relation to the Sleep/inactivity interrupt.I am able to use the LSM6DSL in both sleep and wake up interruption.However is it possible to use this interrupt (Sleep/inactivity) and disable the automatic decrease of the accelerometer sampling rate to 13 Hz option.I tried to set TAP_CFG (58h) to 0x80 (INACT_EN = b00) but the interrupts are not generated anymore.Can someone please tell me if it is possible and if it is how to ?Thanks,#lsm6dsl #inactivity ##interrupt

Posted on June 05, 2017 at 11:40Hi,reading data from L3G4200D i observed some spikes.So i set the BDU :I read before MSB and then LSB for X, Y, then Z such as described in the datasheet.reading the status_reg to know when new data is available i saw that STAUS_REG is alwais 0xFF.This means that :    ZYXOR ZOR YOR XOR ZYXDA ZDA YDA XDA    are all set.    what is the correct usage of this register ?

Posted on May 30, 2017 at 11:39I'm working on LSM303AGR mems and I've some reading problems: when I read x, y, z accelerometer registers in 'normal mode' I get lots of 0 and sometimes a correct value (z value have to be about 1G, not 0), when I set 'low-power' mode everything works good.Any ideas?Thank you.NFP.S. Posted on May 29, 2017 at 11:13Hello, I am using two LIS2DH12 sensors in my project. I am using I2C communication interface. The one with the address pin high (IC4, address 0b0011001x) is working OK, but the one with the address pin low (IC5, address 0b0011000x) is not communicating. It does not even ACK the address. I tried swapping the IC for a new one or even swapping the entire PCB but the problem persists. What could I be doing wrong?

Posted on March 31, 2017 at 07:49I've been able to get the LIS3DSH working for single values by doing this: transmitData[0] = (uint8_t) (LIS3DSH_READ | LIS3DSH_X_L); SPISend( transmitData, receiveData, 2); xl = receiveData[1];But if I wanted to read out multiple values in one transaction, I'd expect that I could do something like: transmitData[0] = (uint8_t) (LIS3DSH_READ | LIS3DSH_MULTIPLE | LIS3DSH_X_L); transmitData[1] = (uint8_t) (LIS3DSH_READ | LIS3DSH_X_L); SPISend( transmitData, receiveData, 3); xl = receiveData[1]; xh = receiveData[2];Or have byte 2 just be 0xFF because the auto-increment would do what I expected.But alas, it doesn't work. (yes address increment is turned on in register 6)Can this be done? What am I missing?Now for documentation, the temperature register just isn't documented in the data sheet. It took a while to figure out that it is Celcius and biased by -25C. Also, the M/S bit isn't documented either. I found AN3393 to be very useful, the data sheet, not so

I can read them, but when I tried to read acc datas from imu, I can't read them. I think problem is in sensor or there is something out of sight.Could you help me solve this problem?What could the cause of the problem? I have a question, it is possible single click will generate interrupt when set both single&double click. I found out the accelerometer will only generate interrupt when I tap on the accelerometer twice. So, it is possible to generate interrupt when I tap the accelerometer only once? I have a function to handle interrupt, it will only generate interrupt when I tap it twice. Izzit normal? #accelerometer

Posted on June 15, 2016 at 17:15Hello, I'm working with LIS2DH on SPI, where also some other SPI slaves are connected. The supply power is 3.0V, VDD and VDD_IO are connected. I configure it and keep reading the accelerations x,y,z just fine. But in certain circumstances the z acceleration is wrong or the values are frozen. I identified the following: The behavior depends on the power supply cycle. If I disconnect my device from power supply when the rest voltage on the capacitor did not drop bellow around 0.3V, it will work. If the device is disconnected for some time, the voltage drops bellow 0.3V. Then the z accelerometer does not work correctly. It reads some 1g instead of -1G and 3G instead of 1G and it seems to be linear. Another device reads some 1.2G instead of -1G and some other value instead of 1G. So it is not the same as in the first case. When connected when the value is around 0.3V the readings sometimes freeze in all 3 axis. The mentioned 0.3V does not to be a fixed val

Posted on May 08, 2017 at 01:17The LSM9DS1 data sheet shows that the accelerometer/gyroscope module's two interrupts can be configured either as open-drain or push/pull.  However, I am missing the description of the magnetometer module's interrupt.  I assume that means it is fixed and cannot be user-configured.  Is it fixed as open-drain type, or as push/pull type?#interrupts #lsm9ds1 #push-pull-output-or-open-drain-output

Posted on May 15, 2017 at 15:36Hi,I am working on a project that is using LIS2DH sensor for measuring the acceleration along the X,Y and Z-axis. I have configured the IC as per the following configurations:-1>Using the 8-bit resolution to capture the data of X,Y and Z-axis.2>we have enabled the low power mode of this sensor.3>We have set the ODR as 50 Hz.when we set the full scale value as +/-4g, then we get the default value for OUT_X register as 0, OUT_Y register as 0 and OUT_Z register as 30 since there is a constant acceleration along Z direction with magnitude of 1g due to gravity when the device is static. Since we are using 8-bit register the range can be vary from -128 to +127, so the default magnitude that can be achieved is 32*30 (1LSb = 32mg as per data sheet) i.e. 0.96g which is approximately equals to 1g.When we set the full value to +/-8g then the default value when the device is static along the Z-axis is 15 so 15*64 (1LSb = 64mg as per datasheet ) i.e. 0.96g w

Posted on May 16, 2017 at 01:47I configured the LIS3DH in stream FIFO mode. Then I set the WATERMARK level as 8 bytes and I poll the FIFO_SRC_REG to see if the WTM bit is 1 and then I collect the 8 bytes of data accumulated in FIFO. Now my problem is, in the code, for debug purposes, I display the data I collected and this reduces the number of data points I read when the program is run for n seconds. That is, when I run the code without displaying for the same n seconds, almost double the amount of data points is being read. Why is this ? In the program I check the overrun flag in FIFO_SRC_REG too. But it is never set during the run of the code. So I should not be losing any data while reading and printing it. My questions :1. Does the overrun flag not work in Stream mode ? i.e when new data is overwritten does it not stay high ?2.
