what's the difference between output push-pull and output open-drain?

i looked for it, but i didn't find nothing.

Hi,

the difference is:

-push-pull works 5V when HI state,0V when LOW state

-open-drain works HI impedance when HI state,0V when LOW state.

With open drain you cannot drive a 5V output without a pullup resistor.
