STR71x ADC Resolution/Accuracy

Hello Forum,

Revision 6 of the STR71xF Datasheet specifies the ADC with a resolution of typ. 12 bits on page 43/49.

Revision 6 of the STR71x Microcontroller Reference Manual says in a Note on page 331/345 ''Only the 11 most significant bits out of these 16 bits (of the ADC_DAT[n] registers) are guaranteed to be accurate according to the device specification, even if all the 16 bits can be read.''

I find this very confusing. Could you please clarify on the ADC resolution and errors ?

Hi Vader,

The STR71x ADC have a 12 bit of resolution, this info will be corrected in Rev 7.
