AC 2kW Motor Controller

Hi,

the AC chopper solution can work also for 2 KW AC load if all components are properly dimentioned for this power rate. But, at this power rate, usually the regulation can't be done just changing the voltage level, because the slip can reach prohibitive values and power losses can increase too much.

Normally the best way to control 2KW motor is the V/F regulation approach.

Hi,

I'm developeing controller for 2kW AC Motor. I've found solution for simple AC Controler (AN1512 -

) but I don't know if it can work with high power motors. Do you know any solutions or tips how to design such a controller. I'll be grateful for any kind of help.
