Posted on June 19, 2018 at 19:29Motorcycle Taillight circuitI have a schematic by someones design using part # MC34063ABD and I wanted to know if it is operating in current mode regulation ?The part is powering 20 Leds 4 per string and 5 strings.On pin 5 of chip there is zero volts all the time.Problem is when a led string burns out the output voltage changes higher.Attached is schematic of current original topology picture 1481,the other picture schematic 1483is what I implemented to correct somewhat a out of control higher voltages.

Posted on June 18, 2018 at 12:35Referring to UM1052, chapter 14.It says that register s 0x3F and 0x40 are available to read using the get register command frame over UART. I have most of the other registers up and running, so the problem is not with UART com.I get the response bach from the motor control board with error code 0x03 'Read not allowed. The value cannot be read'.Anyone having the same problem. I see where in the code to fix this, but I guess it should be reported as a bug.Fredrik#uilibrary #uart #st-mcp

Posted on June 18, 2018 at 07:29I am using MOSFET STP100N6F7 (TO-220 Package - [Q5 In Attached Schematic Design ] ) in charge controller. At 5 Amp. MOSFET is working good without any heating (with heat sink)  . At 8 Amp. it goes up to 70 Degree C. and at 10 Amp. its goes up to 90+ Degree C.Does it have any solution for 10 Amp ?

Posted on June 13, 2018 at 20:20Hi ST support and developer,   I have a small bug report for X-CUBE-SPN7, in the project of examples,   Projects/Multi/Examples/MotorControl/SW4STM32/STM32F302R8-Nucleo,  the include path has set to../../../../../../Drivers/BSP/Components/L6230  , instead of ../../../../../../Drivers/BSP/Components/l6230 :  This causes build failed on Linux.  On Windows it is OK as Windows could treat 'L' and 'l' to be same in the path and file name, but Linux will see them different.-Andy

I want to thanks in advance to anyone willing to help!Let's start!1. On every not-native PWM channel (1,2) there is a low-pass filter on the SET1/RESET1, why is that one needed?2. On the PWM0/1/2 there is a cap (around 100pF) with a resistor in series, kind of reversed low-pass filter, again why it is needed? And what is that exactly?3.  On the SET1/RESET1 at the input of every 74HC132 NAND, there is also an external pull-down which has the label not mounted. This is, again, just a safety measure or it is really needed? (in case the internal pull down it is not capable enough)4. Why did you choose to work with 3.3V logic and not with 5V on the development board available? The IC and every op-amp could work with 5V also.Thanks a bunc

Posted on May 28, 2018 at 16:37Goodmorning,i'm using the steval 3d printer board as prototype for my project, i need to use NEMA 23 motors and hold in torque for some time (even hours).after 1 or 2 minutes the l6474 return overtemperature error, and remove the power from the motor.i note this:l6474 ia about 70-80�C the bootstrap circuit overheat until 120�c, in particular the capacitor C_FLY is 125 deagrees.i set this parameters:TON_MIN = 4 usTOFF_MIN = 21 usTOFF_FAST = 10 usFAST_STEP = 16 usTSW = 44 usSLEW_RATE L6474_CONFIG_SR_075V_usbut the temperature don't change.can you help me?Thanks in advanceMA#l6474 #steval-3d #stm32

Posted on June 01, 2018 at 11:40Hi,I am using the battery monitor - stc3117.  The application uses the default OCV table.  When the battery monitor is initializated,  vbat is set to 3V (on the battery simulator), but Ocv register is  3.3V. It is the lowest value in the OCV table.  Is it  proper  behaviour of the monitor ?Regards,RG#stc3117

Posted on October 26, 2017 at 17:26Hello! I am using l6470 on X-Nucleo IHM02A1 with the STM32F4 discovery board with the SPI interface (daisy chaining). I am working on the precision of an autonomous robot with the four mecanum wheels of 10 cm. I am using 128 usteps step mode. When I am giving move command less than 38535 micro steps, it is working fine but for more than ~39000 usteps, the motor is not reacting.If I change the step mode from 128 usteps to 64 usteps then the value is half of the max number of steps e.g. 19267 usteps.I have also an issue with the torque of the motor as I can't increase much torque.I am using BYG42 2 phase stepper motor with 1.7A current and 12V.I have attached dspin_config file where all the parameters are configured. Please tell me, how can I solve this problem.Thanks in advance,Muneeb Ahmed#l6470

Posted on July 09, 2013 at 00:07I've gotten past all of my comms issues and seem to be able to talk to the L6470 reliably now.  However, I'm having trouble actually getting it to move.  I keep getting OCD events even when commanding moves at low acceleration and speed.  I have also removed the load and am just spinning the shaft of my Lin Engineering 4218L-01-11 motor. Here is the pseudocode for my move: reset device get status set max speed to 10 steps/s set full step speed threshold to 10 steps/s set accel and decel to 1 step/s/s set full step mode set OCD to 2A set running kval to 255 run at 10 steps/s As soon as I send the run command, I detect an error via the FLAG output and then read the status register.  I always get an error value where OCD is asserted, or additionally STEP_LOSS_B and STEP_LOSS_A are asserted. If I take this same motor over to a different off the shelf motion controller, I can drive it without any protection faults occurring. Can anyone su

Posted on May 24, 2018 at 09:31Dear All,I have been working on a project where I need to Switch on Two devices using Two BTA06 controlled by Digitally Opto-Triac. Line and Neutral are same for both.Attached is the schematic.I have issue that when I swithch ON Triac 1 and keep Triac 2 OFF still I get 120V output on triac2 which should be zero.However, switching OFF Triac 1 voltage is gone.Can you please suggest what could I have missed?#bta06-triac

Posted on May 23, 2018 at 19:49I am using an IHM02A1 board with a Nucleo F401RE. I have ported the drivers into a new CubeMX project and I can run the example program. The example program's stepper parameters (in parameters.c) seem to be working but I doubt they are optimal for my motors.I now want to optimize my stepper parameters. I have tried using SPIN02, but it won't connect to my Nucleo. Upon further reading, I find it does not work with the IHM02A1 board. As far as I can tell, no evaluation software works with this board.So can anyone give me any tips on how to safely set these parameters?Best regards and thanks in advance for the help!Clark#ihma201 #spinfamily

Posted on May 04, 2018 at 19:12The L6227Q looks like just the part I want to control a small motor that will run at about 5V and no more than 300mA.  I was looking at Table 7 in the data sheet.  I think what I want is to set IN1 and IN2 to the polarity I need  and then use the ENABLE line as the PWM signal to adjust the speed.  Does this sound reasonable?Thanks,-Pete  #l6227q-enable-pwm

Posted on May 12, 2018 at 19:44 We used BT139X-600E triac. Opto triac MOC3052 used for triac's control.  Load is 230V, 50 Hz LED lamp, current is 30 mA. Current is not very nonlinear - it is short 'pulses' in the maximum of voltage 230 V.  The triac must withstand a short-circuit current of 100 A during 10 mS. The problem is that the triac sometimes does not turn on - the reason is most likely a very small current and a large current nonlinearity. We'd like to use BTA12-600BW. Until now we've been working with other MCU development platform but we want to research other solutions as well. ST site shows quite promising development environment based on STM32 Nucleus-64 development platform but the expected simple Sensored software examples are missing.Our goal is a speed controller for the sensored Hall-based BLDC motor with 84V max voltage and high current.AT run time controller will work in 6-step commutation synchronized by Hall sensor, yet for the motor' identification/setup only we use sensorless mode.I'd like to test this setup from ST :  STM32 Nucleo-64 STM32F401RE MCU + X-NUCLEO-IHM08M1 expansion board + X-CUBE-SPN8 software + six-step firmware library for STM32 Nucleo boards . X-NUCLEO-IHM08M1 expansion board has Hall inputs and it's user manual promises the sensored control. Posted on May 17, 2018 at 15:24I would need advice on how to make a stepper motor drive with a supply voltage of 120Vdc and a current of 6 nominal Amps.It seems to me there are only 2 ways, even if I do not know if they are feasible, they are:1) Use 2 PWD13F60 (2 H-bridges) to control the 2 windings of the stepper for the power part; and use an STM32 microcontroller for the control part.Sore point of this solution, I have not found any application notes that describe how to use the devices of the STM32 to directly control a stepper.2) Use 2 PWD13F60 (2 H-bridges) to control the 2 windings of the stepper for the power part; and use an L6480 or L6482 controller for control. Sore point of this solution, I do not know if the controllers that serve to directly drive the mosfet can be used only as 'digital' signals to drive the 2 H-bridges (which have already integrated the drivers).Can someone help me on both questions or seal something else? Thank you

Using Hall sensors for motor control is most typical today. 6-step BLDC code example provided in X-CUBE-SPN8 is sensorless only. There are driver files in X-CUBE-SPN8 package specifically made for Hall sensored control (stm32f4xx_hal_tim_ex.c andstm32f4xx_hal_tim_ex.h) but no examples of usage found. Please somebody point to any example. I will keep posting this until somebody who knows will reply. The H-Bridge haven't the right output voltage. At the Pins of the Bridge are these voltages.
