Power management

Hi  I have been using the  NUCLEO-LPM01A board to measure current on my product, but I require to read up to 180ma . I have had a look at the STLINK-V3PWR unit, and can someone please let me know if I can simply use this wil the cube monitor power program to do the same as the NUCLEO-LPM01A , but up to 500ma?I also see it says its a debugger and programmer, is this as well as a power management ? I would like to use it with the end product, and not so much as debugging as I have st-link modules for debugging and programming.Many thanksScott

We require a TVS or zener diode for a clamping application with high average power dissipation. LDP01-56AY does suit our needs, but the maximum average power rating is not described in the datasheet. Our application has an ambient of around 60 degrees Celsius under the worst conditions. What is the maximum average power rating of the aforementioned diode?

Hello, I'm trying to use the SPV1040T MPPT IC to boost up the 1.5V I'm getting from the Solar Panel to 3.8V. When I Power ON the MPPT IC its output just follows the Input and i don't see any chances of voltage getting boosted up. Is there anything wrong in the design attached? Please advise. For now, I'm using the Lab power supply to power the MPPT IC, the O/P voltage is set to 1.5V, Current limit is set to 100mA. RegardsStalin

Hi,Now I work with the STEVAL-L99615C board and have some problem with it. I don't have an 5-cell board, so I connect charger and all needed saignals directly to the board. The board is configured to work in HS. GUI demo version 2.0.0.  Emb. version - 05-11-21-01When I set the "Charge ON" in GUI - the charging is starting, all works good. But if I want to start discharging it doesn't work. Before turning on the discharge, I turn off the charger. The output voltage on the CH- and CH+ - is battery voltage, but if the load will connected to the output pins then output voltage dropped down to 1.6V. Also, I tried to run STSW-L9961BMS Demo4 1.3.0. The datasheet says that you also need to use a board, but I don't have one. The program correctly shows all voltages on the cells, but when I connect the load, the program starts to incorrectly show the voltage of the last cell and the corresponding errorThanks

hi, I'm developing 48v 1kw.Is it possible to set the rising time within 50 ms using l6599ad?The datasheet uses Rss and RFmin to control the initial soft start, but it does not decrease to 400 to 500 ms at all. If you need a circuit diagram, I'll send you a mail.Thank you.​

Hello STmicro Team, I have done a propagation delay analysis using VNL5030J-E. The Delay-on time, rise time and delay-off time does not matches with the datasheet Values. Please check and let me know your feedback in this. I am attaching here the snapshot of the images taken during testing. i have tested the Timing Analysis with the same test conditins mentioned  in the datasheet. Turn-on delay time - 11.5us Turn-off delay time - 25 us rise time - 46.5 us Fall time - 8 us Thank you, Regards, Priya

Hi,We are using STPM32 with LPC controller, when observing the startup reset pulse we are getting as in the picture attached. Both SYN and SCS pins are initialized high but when powered on SYN is coming low for some time then it is taking 35ms delay then 3 pulses similar is the case with SCS. It is coming high for some time then it is taking the delay we are setting and data is also not getting updated.Startup reset pulse Can anyone tell whether the startup reset pulses we are getting are correct. And help resolve the issue?Thank you

Hello, I am having a problem with a design using the ST8R00WPUR.The input is 5v, the output is 10.5v, the load is 22 ohms (477mA).The problem is that the output drops below 3v for 200ms when the load is applied, before returning to 10.5v. The problem does not occur when the IC is warm. When the IC is at ~room temperature or below the problem occurs.Here is the schematic: C22 and C24 were originally 10uF as per the reference design, they were increased to 22uF to try and mitigate the problem (did not work). L2 has been tried with 4.7uH instead of 10uH, but the problem did not go away.INH does not ever go below 2vLX voltage looks very strange even when unloaded, there is a spike during the low cycle:When the IC is warmed up, the spike goes away and the graph looks clean.This issue does not occur on every PCBA we have with this design. We received 20 PCBAs from Supplier1 and none of them had this issue. We received 60 PCBAs from Supplier2 and about half of them had this issue.Re

Recently started working on the L9026 Device,  as an initial setup, trying to read the Device ID.   With The L9026 Evaluation board Device ID is read as 0x55, With L9026 Placed on the Our Target Board, Device ID is read as 0x56,  Was surprised with the response of Target Board, Would you please us, what is the Device ID expected for this Chip and How it is programmed? Dear ST Community Member,Currently working on development of 1.2kW EV Charger. The L6599AD (high-voltage resonant controller) IC is used for half-bridge LLC topology. We have tested the IC separately by giving different voltages at various pins of the IC as per datasheet. However, we are unbale to obtain the gate pulses. Please suggest.   

I would like to know the working principle of the charger bump for MH98, as well as the working principles of CPOUT, CP1, and CP2. Why can the voltage of the bootstrap capacitor reach 11.3V when VDH = 6V? In other words, why can the voltage of CP reach VDH+11.3V?

Hi all. The data sheet for the LDL212PUR low dropout linear regulator does nor specify the quality of the input and output bypass capacitors with regard to ESR or loss tangent requirements.  Most LDO regulators require at least one low ESR bypass capacitor, usually on the output side.  This data sheet does not specify that parameter on any of the bypass capacitors.  Any recommendations?  Thanks - SteveD

I am writing because I have a question about the L9369 chip. The second case of above table ( SPI_GIOx_HSCtrl == 0 and SPI_Off_Giox == 1) , Output  is set to HIGH. I'm curious why GIOx Output is HIGH when SPI_GIOx_HSCtrl is 0.  Thank you.

Hello ST Team,We are observing that LEDs are minor glowing, during turn off condition due to leakage current. As per our application we are not not using any PWM configuration for LEDs. We are just making LEDs turn ON/OFF as per application requirements. Is there any register configuration available to make LEDs completely turn off?Or we can use below registers setting to make complete off? ThanksKadam

Hello everyone,I'm reaching out to the community because I'm encountering an issue with a Wireless Charger board we designed, based on STWBC86 and a similar architecture to the STEVAL-WBC86TX evaluation board.The main problem is the Power Transmitter locking up when the receiver is moved away.As previously suggested by ST Employee @willzhou in a previous post, I have tried various attempts both with the STEVAL-WBC86TX and with my PCB, setting the "TX PING INTERVAL" parameter differently as you suggested, and I also tried clicking "TX PING HALF BRDG", but the issue has not been resolved.Let me provide more detailed explanation of the issues encountered:Upon removing the receiver, sometimes my PCB (WBC86TX component) continues to transmit for a few seconds and then gets stuck in an UNKNOWN condition where it draws only a few tens of mA, disconnecting from communication with WPSTUDIO.The above-described stuck condition also occurs in standalone oper

From an ST newsletter I understood that ST is promoting new FERD diodes as "rectifiers for switching power supply". I could use these new diodes in a new flyback design so I downloaded a couple of datasheets and searched for Reverse Recovery Time Trr and Reverse Recovery Charge Qrr parameters but was not able to find them. Did you forget to list them or did I miss something?     NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us. Hello,On my custom designed PCB, there is a USB port for battery charging and programming ESP32 microcontroller. When I plug in to the PC, I get "USB Not recognized" message. In addition, the two LEDs are light up. In the datasheet of the charger IC (STBC08), it says there is "not enough power". But I checked the power pin (1st pin) of the USB port, there is 5.1V. So why is there a problem? Do you have a solution for that?I attached the schematic of the power management part. 

Hello everyone,I'm reaching out to the community because I'm encountering an issue with a Wireless Charger board we designed, based on STWBC86 and a similar architecture to the STEVAL-WBC86TX evaluation board.The main problem is the Power Transmitter locking up when the receiver is moved away. I've noticed that our board loses control when the receiver device is moved away and when a current exceeding a certain threshold is absorbed. Additionally, we've observed that our board takes much longer compared to the STEVAL-WBC86TX to return to the "PING" state as soon as the receiver is moved away.We're seeking advice or suggestions on how to address this issue. We've carefully examined the configuration and operation of our board, but so far, we haven't been able to resolve the problem.If anyone has had similar experiences or is familiar with the operation of Wireless Charger devices based on STWBC86, we would be extremely grateful for any help or insight you can offer.Thank you in advance
