L6470: Overclocking?

Hi

We want to overclock the L6470 (10MHz instead of 8MHz at OSCIN) to increase maximum RPM. The resolution will be reduced, this is clear, but is there any other risk to do so?

Dear Michael,

The system clock is used by the L6470H to generates many timings and some of them are critically related to the device safe operation.

The device is designed to be robust and small variations from nominal value are tolerated, but a variation of 25% exceeds the limit.
