STC3115 Adjusting Configuration

After reading the STC3115 datasheet (D023755 Rev 8) and system integration (AN4324), plus FAQ and the driver code on GitHub, I have questions about the REG_VM_CFG, REG_CC_CFG, REG_VM_ADJ and REG_CC_ADJ.

Are the *_CFG parameters automatically updated by the IC?

If not, is there an algorithm I should used to adjust them with the *_ADJ registers?
