Question

Why does the current limit not working in DC-DC converter

Dear All,

I am using L6902 (switching buck regulator with adjustable current limit) in my application. The Current sense resistors are used on high side (between supply and load terminal). The current sense resistor value is 0.165 ohm. Thus maximum current will be 100mV/0.165ohm = 600 mA.

I use electronic load to check the voltage regulation. When I increase the load beyond 600 mA, the load voltage does not drop. As per my understanding, the load voltage should drop beyond 600 mA because of the current limit.

Is there any idea why is this happening?

Regards,

Aalok
