Posted on January 28, 2016 at 15:55Good morning to everyone,I have a little problem with the universal debugger.In my testing application on the discovery board, I set the reading of a input register SIUL.GPDI48.B.PDI.Now, reading the manual, I understand that is possible, via debugger, change the value of the registers. i tried what the guide tells. In the SFR view, I selected the register and tried to change is value, but with no result. The register is not protected. If I try to change the value of register as the STM register for exampple, I succed.Someone has some idea on why it is the case?Thank you, Ivan #ude-debugger-input-registers

Posted on January 27, 2016 at 11:32Good morning,working with the universal debbuger on the dicscovery board with SPC56EL60L3, I have this error: various registers seem inaccesible to me. If I try to monitor them with SFR, I don't see the values, but ''???????'', and if I try to do an operation on one of them (reading or writing), the micro go in exception.Modules that behave like this are, for example, CRC, ADC, LINFLEX.For the ADC module I tried various configurations with the wizard, but nothing. I cannot understand why the ude cannot see them.P. S: I reported the problem in the discussion on the STM register, because I thincked it was related to a single module (CRC), but after various trials it seems a generic problem related to a group of modules that, for some reason, I cannot access.Thank you, Ivan #ude-sfr-registers-access

Posted on January 15, 2016 at 10:49I want to protect the flash on SPC560 MCU. I came across few terms like Shadow flash and its use. I have used C90LC Flash drive to access data flash. Can I use the same driver for shadow flash also? I see few bits for shadow flash inside the data structure. Any example for using Censorship feature using the shadow flash?Thanks.Mike

Do you know if it is possible to program it with  http://www.st.com/web/en/catalog/tools/PF258744  using the UDE debugger? I apparently can connect but I can't debug and I don't know if it is possible or not.Thank you very much.

I’m now really out of idea and I need your support!First I would like to submit you what I think is a bug. See icu_bug1.png: I had to add the highlighted code because when activating eMIOS1 alone, it was causing an unhandled exception. It is located around line 600.In the attached project (SPC5Studio v3.7) when the code shown in icu_bug2.png is commented out (icu_start and icu_enable), my eMIOS0 ch.1 is working properly (I’m sending a message on the uart telling “ICUD2 is more (or less) than 1kHz�?)But when not commented out, both eMIOS0 ch.1 and eMIOS1 ch.9 are working anymore… eMIOS1 ch.9 alone is also not working.I added manually the declarations related to eMIOS1 ch.9 / ICUD16 in icu_lld.c and icu_lld.h. Posted on January 22, 2016 at 10:15Good morning to everyone.I have been provided with the SPC56L- Discovery Board and I am waiting for the activation of the license for the jtag debugger. In the meantime I wanted to begin studying examples of code in order to understand all the procedures better.In the applicaiton note AN4379 (SPC56L-Discovery Software examples), the examples are said to be included in a package available on this site (product code: STSW-SPC56001FW), but searching the site I cannot find it.Am I understanding wrongly the Application Note? Can you please explain the underlined statement in detail?If both CW and SC registers should match for values, how the statement 1) can be true?The best mode for your case is to use the censored mode.Private Flash Memory Password and censored1) Set NVSCC0(CW) , NVSCC1(CW) different to 0x55AA.     Set NVSCC0(SC) , NVSCC1(SC) equals 0x55AA.      IMPORTANT : NVSCC0(CW,SC) must be equal to NVSCC1(CW,SC) otherwise your chip will be completely locked.Thanks in advance.Mike

I cannot find what type of memory test the unit perform: abraham, galpalt or others? I am misunderstanding the unit capabilities?Thanks. #test #stcu #ram

Posted on January 14, 2016 at 10:48Hi,I am evaluating the use of RPC56EL70L5 to control two BLDC motors, using a FlexPWM module for each motor.The datasheet of the SPC56EL70L5 states that the second FlexPWM is not connected to the pins of the package - the RPC56EL70L5 datasheet is not explicit about.Is there a way to connect the second module (FlexPWM_1) to the output pins?Any workaround?Thanks, dave

Posted on January 19, 2016 at 11:43Hi, I have written code using CodeWarrior which runs on the Freescale device without issue. When trying to run it on the ST part, I find that during the compiler startup when RAM is being initialised, the SWT is enabled.  With the same binary on the Freescale part the SWT is disabled at this point in the code.  The startup code does not initialise RAM within the timeout period, and the ST device resets whereas the Freescale part does not. Are the two parts identical? How do I disable the WDT using the NV user options word during the compiler startup code before RAM is initialised? Does CodeWarrior generate code which is compatible with the ST parts or should I switch compiler?

I want to protect the device flash memory - code and data both from read and writing once final version is programmed. Has anyone tried this? Whether PLS UDE supports such kind of protections?I read about the Censorship topic (section 5.1.3/ page #75) in reference manual. Can this feature serve my purpose? Has anyone used this? How this works for code and data flash? Can someone explain this elaborately?Thanks in advance.Mike

Posted on January 06, 2016 at 15:47Dear SPC5Studio Team, I followed the installation procedure (backup licence and workspace, uninstall v3.7.1, remove workspace...) and I now have 2 problems: - I exported my v3.7 project in zip file and imported it in v4.0. I added the Platform, init and LL drivers SLA packages and I generate the components. WHERE COULD DRIVERS SETTINGS BE FOUND? The clock component shows clock settings, ok, but where are FlexCAN, DSPI settings??? Even if I create an app using the wizard, i'm stuck. The clock settings are not using the values I used in my configuation.xml. I want to generate a library module which I can use in SPC5Studio project and call the required API from other C modules. Then I imported the project on which I was warking. It works very well, but I’m detected an interesting behavior.During the pal_init function some pins are set to high for 0,132 ms. This can cause some side effects in my application. Every time during the read process the program pointer goes to 0x0000000E0, therefor it points to nothing -.-I think it is a basically problem, because the same issue occurs, if the RTC get configured. Posted on June 30, 2015 at 16:50Hello,I am using standby mode for SPC560D MCU. The datasheet mentions about using DRUN or software reset for exiting this mode. Can you please explain on,1. How to configure the DRUN mode? I tried using API 'halSPCSetRunMode' for switching between modes. But when used for DRUN mode, it does not exit the standby mode correctly and a power reset is required. Is any thing missing for this?2. Which are the ways to use software reset for SPC560D? Can I use watchdog reset as a software reset? Is there any other means for software reset?Thanks in advance for any help.Mike.

Are they compatible in the sense that the same code would run the same in both devices? (I'm already aware of FLASH/RAM memory sizes difference, is there any other difference?). Posted on November 27, 2015 at 11:13Hello everybody, I'm using the SPC56EL70L5DISP board.In order to use UART, I put the jumpers in J18 and J20 to connect UART-MCU LIN0, following the board user guide.Running the test example with UART and blinking LEDs, I try to read the hello world from a PC. I use a serial to USB adapter and a software configured for 38400-N-1 with no flow control or handshaking. I don't receive anything though.I'm asking for a confirmation: should this work or did I miss something here?Thanks in advance for the help. #spc56 #uart
