Hello this is my first stm32 project. my goal is to use the stm32 to read sensor values and send them over lora to somewhere else. However i am not getting past reading a single value from the Sensor.First of all there seems to be more than one version of the driver. I found one driver.zip with the following name: 'en.STSW-IMG007_v2.4.5' and another with the name 'en.STSW-IMG009_v3.5.1'. One seems to be a newer version and is using less files/space but it has tons of weird files in there that don't really have to do anything with the sensor? For example there is a canbus example for the STM32L4xx...The IMG007 for some reason has plattform code for a windows machine. Why would i want to use this sensor with a windows machine? Its missing windows.h but i don't think i need it.Which of these would be the right driver for me? And how would i go about using it? Do i 'just' implement the plattform files and then the sensor works? How would i know what has to be written in the plattform files

We are using this sensor to measure the distance between the sensor and a human eye.I need to know if this is a safe tool to use in this matter

Intensity of visible light is measured in lux, but by definition this cannot be used for IR light, which is not on the visible spectrum. What is the intensity of the IR emitter on the VL6180X and what would the units be?

For my application, I need to detect left swipe, right swipe, up, down, and that’s it for now. My product runs on AA batteries so power consumption is crucial. It is an “appliance�? that sits waiting on a counter top for someone to walk up to it, so we can afford a slow response sleep mode (1hz - 2hz)Ive used the L0 extensively and also started testing the 6180x, the l5, and L1. It seems like the L5 is still going to use 11mW in low power mode which is 10x too much power. Is this still accurate when in ranging mode? If I can’t use L5, would all of the low power sensors like l1, and 6180 require 2 sensors to detect directional swipes?

Please tell me which sensor can measure with an accuracy of 0.01 - 0.02mm at a distance of 0 - 10mm

Hi everyone,I have problem for VL53L3CXV0DH/1. It is very difficult to describe the problem. I hope I can explain. You know that angles of VL53L3CXV0DH is like below.I have PCB that includes VL53L3. The light will flash each time if the sensor detects it.the sensor works fine when there isn't anything with a hole on the top of the sensor. (the maximum value of the sensor is the ceiling distance of the house.) but; when a completely empty hole is placed on the sensor, which progresses in the direction of the angles I have mentioned above, the sensor gives ridiculous values and the sensor constantly detects it. (the maximum value of the sensor is the ceiling distance of the house.)Video link that will facilitate the explanation: https://vimeo.com/711985416 also when a completely hollow hole is placed on the sensor, if I put a large object about 70cm above the sensor (for example my hand in video). The sensor detects motion and gives accurate results between sensor and my hand.(

Studying the example application in the STSW-IMG 023 software I noticed that in the main.c file in the static void MX_I2C1_Init (void) function a clock speed equal to 1000000 (10 ^ 6) is configured, but if I go to the CubeMX file from where the project was generated I read 100000 kbit / s instead (10^5). Is it correct?  If in the main.c file I wrote 10^5 instead of 10^6, the application does not work correctly. Only 10^6 work correctly. Can you help me understand why? Moreover, in the comment on the field init.ClockSpeed I read "This parameter must be set to a value lower than 400kHz"I was using version 1.3.0, but this fact is also present in 1.3.1

Do the emitted photons reliably reflect off the surface of the water and back to the detector so that an accurate time of flight measurement can be made?

Hi all,i choose to use VL53L5CX_ULD_driver_1.3.1. (i think this is the minimum driver?)I try to implement the VL53L5CX into a custom board.As we live in strange times i want to order chips before starting the development.In the many datasheets i have read, i could not find minimum hardware requirements to be able to use this chip at full performance.Preferably i want to use the cheapest MCU i can get with lowest pincount.I did find the driver+firmware use +/- 92KB FLASH, so i need at least 128KB preferable 256 KB to implement my own code and bootloader into the same MCU.But i cannot find maximum usage of RAM used by the driverIs there a minimum recomended clockspeed to get the max performance out of this sensor?Obviously I need I2C interface…Something else i missed?Thank you

We bought P-NUCLEO-53L1A1 for testing the performance of VL53L1X.We met some trouble for setup and software installation.According to the Quick Start Guide for X-NUCLEO-53L1A1), we tried toinstall VL53L1X GUI to our PC, but failed. Attached images from C1 to C4show the process of the installation. We tested the installation in Win7 and Win10 PC, but all failed.Could you tell me the reason for the error?best regardsDai Sai

I have a problem when I try to run the Example for NUCLEO-F401RE. I'm using a NUCLEO-F401RE and SATEL-VL53L5CX. For the connection, I'm following the main.h, here are presents all the pins useful to manage the sensors. I noticed that the I2C_RST pin is not configured in the MX_GPIO_INIT function. Can someone help me to understand why the application does not work?

I have a vl53l1x and testing it without glass and uncalibrated operating in SHORT distance mode. I get distance measurements of non-zero values at about 120mm. The datasheet claims 4cm. Will the calibration process result in short measurements inline with the datasheet?

I worked with a single VL53L5CX under Linux without problems. Now I wan't to have at least two sensors running in parallel connected to the same I2C bus. So I followed the documentation and first set LPn for the sensor which should keep its address (let's call it sensor 1) to low. Then I set the I2C address of the remaining sensor (sensor 2) with  vl53l5cx_set_i2c_address(). After I set LPn for sensor 1 back to high I can communicate with it. But I can't communicate with sensor 2. I added a firmware upload (init) directly after the change of the address and also added a vl53l5cx_set_resolution() and a vl53l5cx_get_resolution() but always get a zero resolution and an error value. But looking to the I2C bus with external tools shows that the I2C address was changed.So first question is: is the function  vl53l5cx_set_i2c_address() part of the firmware. Or the other way, can the function be used without first uploading the firmware? Otherwise the steps would be, set LPn low, init

Hello,due to the bad datasheet and missing register map it is almost impossible to get information about GPIO1. The only settings i found are affecting the interrupt functionality. But why is the pin called GPIO when only used as interrupt output. Shouldn't it be called INT? Is it possible to use it to daisy chain multiple sensors? Sensor 1 GPIO1 => Sensor 2 XShut, Sensor 2 GPIO => Sensor 3 Xshut...Thanks, Manuel

Hello,I am experimenting some trouble when using sensor VL6180X outdoors due to sunlight.The lasers are continuously seeing a yellow surface at 15cm. I get good rangings under Indoor light condition.The point is the lasers do not see any backgound when sunlight is hitting the surface.My questions are:¿Is there any colour that can be used in the surface so as to improve performance under sun light conditions?¿Is there any setting I can tweak into sensors so as to improve this?Regards, Ramon.

Hi,i have multiple VL53L5CX sensors on the same bus. Right now i am initializing the firmware (vl53l5cx_init) them after setting the individual I2C addresses. I wonder if it is possible to initialize them all at once.To my understanding the vl53l5cx_init transfers the code that runs on the internal microcontroller to it via the I2C bus. That should in theory work as kind of a broadcast transfer.Thank you in advance.
