I am currently trying to understand why my "BlueNRG_Sleep" function doesn't work, from the main function where custom code should be, either while debugging or while using the battery with my BCN002 tile board. I use LEDs on before and after the sleep is called to verify the sleep is working as expected or not. (the LED should only be off while sleeping) I know that sleep can work on the board as when I load up the sleep example that works as coded and expected. However, i want the rest of the functionality that the "BLE_SensorDemo" project provides. Can someone please answer the following, I've been trying to figure this out for a while now.What needs to be turned off before sleep and turned on after sleep for the “BlueNRG_Sleep�? function to work?currently it just skips right through it every time like it is always being interrupted immediately.How does "BlueNRG_Sleep" know which vtimer to use?is it just the first vtimer to fire?

Hello,I would like to ask for an advice related to the timestamp registration:uint32_t timestamp_A = HAL_VTimerGetCurrentTime_sysT32();and after some time we check the elapsed time using:int32_t diff_ms = HAL_VTimerDiff_ms_sysT32(HAL_VTimerGetCurrentTime_sysT32(), timestamp_A);I am trying to detect and handle accordingly the case where sysT32 variable overflow occurs. I see that overflow occurs after about 1.5 hours.I checked some differences:0u - UINT32_MAX (returns 0)UINT32_MAX-0u (returns -1)HAL_VTimerDiff_ms_sysT32() suggests that uint32_t sysTime has some ranges other than uint32 size.Is there any mechanism to handle sysT32 variable overflow detection?Do I understand correctly that I should rather start new VTimer and detect the overflow inside VTimerTimeoutCallback()? And this way I can read the elapsed time before overflow with HAL_VTimerExpiry_sysT32(

Hello, I am using F401RE Nucleo + X-NUCLEO-BNRG2A1 + IKS01A2 and FunctionPack 4.2.1 .After dragging the _BL_v4.2.0 bin to the nucleo on resetting the board i am getting this : Error: hci_le_set_scan_response_data [ff]while on another board it is giving : aci_gap_update_adv_data OKWhat is the cause of this on the first nucleo board?Do i need to flash the module again?Regards,D

Hello,I recently purchased STM's BLE nucleo expansion board, which works without issue. I am reviewing the software to develop my understanding and had a question regarding the MAC address. They are typically a unique address to the specific chip that is used and that every manufactured piece had a different MAC address. However, for the sample code (SensorDemoBLE), I never had to put in the IDB05A2's BLE MAC address. It knew, which means that every IDB05A2 must have the same MAC address. Judging by this, is this assumption about the MAC address being unique wrong? In other words, if I ordered another Bluetooth BlueNRG-M0A chip, would it also have the same MAC address as the sample code?

RF-flasher Utility say it can program the MAC addresses to device by list file.I try to make a text file of MAC address sample list. (attached file) And set it for MAC addresses. But RF-flasher Utility occers error. (Set MAC Address)How to write and set a MAC address list file for RF-flasher Utility?

The trace thickness and gap in the datasheet for connection from S2-LP to BALF-SPI2-01D3 are given according to a special 4 layer stackup. What should this trace thickness and gap be on this connection 1mm thick 2-layer PCB? Dielectric constant = 4.3.

I'm trying to issue the CALIBRATE_ANTENNA (0xd8) command on my st25r3911b nucleo expansion board, but it seems to hang.Other commands (eg. MEASURE_CAPACITANCE and CALIBRATECAPACTIVE_SENSOR) work just fine and generate interrupts, but issuing CALIBRATE_ANTENNA literally just does nothing as far as I can see.What am I missing ?

Hi, We recently saw that SPSGRF-868 (https://www.st.com/en/wireless-connectivity/spsgrf.html) has become Not Recommended for New Designs (NRND), which seems concerning as we use it in many IoT designs.Is there any ST module available, with ACTIVE status and similar characteristics (868 MHz, integrated antenna, all-in-one-package) with SPSGRF-868 ? I could only find S2-LP and SPIRIT1 ( which SPSGRF is based on ) for 868 MHz communication, but they are plain RF transcievers and need many external components and further analysis for antenna. What would you recommend ?

What type of transients and erroneous signals can I expect at power-up and power-down if I do not follow the sequence described in the datasheet for 54AC164245? Can you characterize the duration and amplitudes when VDD1 = 5V and VDD2 = 3.3V. In this scenario our 5V always comes up before the 3.3V and the direction and enable signals are all on the 5V supply.

Since the poorly soldered microUSB connector on the eval board broke off, I fixed and wired USB-A connector. If the board is then connected to PC, STM DFU device appears in Device Manager and appropriate driver could be installed so I suppose that the wiring is O.K. However, originally a USB Serial Port (COMx) appeared so either the RF-Flasher Utility or a terminal program can work with the board.What could be the cause of this?

Hello everybodyI'm using a custom board in which there's a STM32F030 that communicate with SPBTLE_RF0 module. With X-CUBE I generate software using X-CUBE-BLE2.2.0.0.I can reset the chip and read response (vendor specific event), but when I try to configure the chip using pre-compiled software, I've noticed that immediately, at the first HCI command, I can't have response from the module. The first command after reset and after delay of 2000ms, is HCI_LE_RAND. I send the information on SPI but module doesn't take IRQ line high to tell uC that the response is ready.I can't understand why module doesn't answer.I use 1.8Mhz SPI communication, but I've tried 400KHz also. In my application I can't use SPI directly, and I use a I2C/SPI bridge. I've changed original software to work with this bridge, and as I said previously, I can send hci_reset command and read response, and I see IRQ line go high in this case.I've checked documenta

Hi,I picked up a X-NUCLEO-BNRG2A1 (Extension board Lot:2040 for the Nucleo-64 boards), and I am trying to communicate with it through a Nucleo-F411RE Board. I basically generated a project template through CubeMX for the STM32F411RE and included the BlueNRG-2 (X-CUBE-BLE2) Pack to include Bluetooth HCL/ACI APIs along with the project template.I also assigned in CubeMX (in the Software Packs section) that I will be using SPI1 bus, GPIOB Pin 14 for the SPI EXTI Pin, GPIOA Pin 1 for the SPI1 CS pin, and GPIOA Pin 8 for the HCI_TL_RST Reset Pin.

Hi,I'm using BLE_SensorDemo project. I have created my own services. Everything works fine reading and writing the data. The only problem is, when I try to connect from my Android mobile, I could not connect to to the BlueNRG-2 in first attempt. I had to make several attempts to establish the connection. I see the device is in discoverable mode only. I could not figure out the issue. I hope someone will help me out. Thank you in advance.

I copied the code snippet and vtimer.c from RTC_Virtual_Timer project to BLE_Beacon project. But HAL_VTimerStart_ms always returns 0x01 error(=timer already started). Similarly, I copied the same code to Micro_Sleep_Test project, it works normally with 0x00. It's unlikely, does that mean the BLE stack is using the same VTimer? (The BLE stack seems to have some VTimer functions. Micro_Sleep_Test project does not use the BLE stack.)Why does the difference occur? and Is there a workaround?
