Posted on October 24, 2016 at 22:38Hello! I made a custom board with LSM9DS1  module on it. Pins SDO_M and SDO_A/G is tied together. I use SPI to communicate with module. When i write/read to/from accelerometer/gyroscope registers all works fine but when i am trying to read from magnetometer WHO_AM_I register or any other i get only 0xFF. I use separate CS pins for A/G and magnetometer.What may be wrong? As i understand it is not necessary to set up magnetometer registers to be able read from WHO_AM_I register. Don't understand what is the problem.

Posted on September 12, 2016 at 09:05I am using HTS221 for humidity and temperature measurement. On reading the registers for temperature and converting as per the equation suggested, i get the correct temperature. but on reading the registers for humidity and converting as per the equation suggested, humidity obtained is not correct. the register values read are as follows: H0_T0_OUT = 9 H1_T0_OUT = -10540 H0_RH_X2 = 53 H1_RH_X2 = 132 when humidity is measured in a controlled environment with different known humidities, the HTS221 measured humidity varies +/- 5 % within the range 26.5 % to 66% humidity(which is calibrated range of sensor), but outside the range that is lower than 26.5% and higher than 66%  variation of 10 to 20% humidity is seen. kindly help to get the correct humidity. regards unnati

Posted on February 20, 2017 at 17:55 Hi, I have a problem to make interrupts (INT1 exactly) work with my LIS2DH12 Accelerometer. What I am trying to do is to make the int1 trigger when there is a Y-axis high event (or low event). I have setted all the required Registers for INT1 but it seems it is not working and I have even tried to look with an oscilloscope to see if it is doing something, but the results are still negative. I have read some posts before making this one but the answers weren't helpful for me. Can someone write down how they setted theirs interrupt registers to make them work correctly? Some additional information: 1- I don't need the HPCF so I have deactivated it (I think it is deactivated by default, if I remember correctly) 2- The REGs I have changed are: CTRL_REG3, CTRL_REG4, INT1_CFG, INT1_THS, INT1_DUR 3- The temp and XYZ-axis are working correctly Thank you for the help #lis2dh Note: this post was migrated and contained many threaded conversations

By now I've captured audio from the integrated mic, and simulated the other mic with a RAM-stored pdm bitstream... Now I want to capture audio from the 2 mics at the same time... To do so I've to capture a bit both on the rising, both on the falling edge of the clock fed to the mics, but I don't know how to do... Up to now I've captured bits from the integrated mic just on one edge using the I2S... Posted on April 14, 2017 at 06:46Sensortile doesn't work without SWD connection.When I compiled and ran the demo application(BLE app), only it worked when the sensortile with cradle was connected to SWD which is from Nucleo board. When the board is detached from SWD and working with battery, the flashed image doesn't work. It means the board doesn't work standalone by using battery. I've checked that the battery is fully charged. Could anybody help ?

Posted on April 26, 2017 at 15:29Hi at all,I am using the BlueSTSDK Android App to receive data transfered via Bluetooth Low Energy by the STEVAL-STLKT01V1 SensorTile.I would like to detect accelerometer events as orientations, single taps, etc, with this app but I don't undestand how to unblock the 'Accelerometer Events' in the 'Feature list' activity.In the FeatureAccelerationEvent.java file is reported that I must call the following functions:- detectEvent()- onDetectableEventChange()but I don't know where and how I must call this functions.Is there anybody that can help me?Best regards,Tommaso#sensortile #bluestsdk

Posted on April 06, 2017 at 03:27Two questions.  I'm implementing the VL6180X sensor in a system that needs to detect presence of objects placed in a tray.   The objects are generally small glass vials with different colored caps.  Question 1:  In ambient office lighting, the objects are detected at expected distances if the colored caps face the detector.  If the glass bottom of the vial faces the detector, it appears as if the detected distance is the cap on the other side of the vial.  It does not seem to detect the glass bottom of the vial.   What would cause that and what is the solution to detect the glass bottom (note: the vial may be as close as 15mm and as much as 70mm from the sensor- there is no cover glass on the sensor).Question 2: After the object is placed and the distance detected, a cover door is closed which puts the object in the dark.   But in this low light condition, the detected range increases by as much as 30%. &nbs

Posted on April 24, 2017 at 15:40When I transition from a powerdown state to any of the ODR's in FIFO mode I get initial values (first 1 or 2 sample sets) in the FIFO buffer that are very erratic. Should there be a period of time after transitioning out of a powerdown mode before the FIFO is enabled?

Posted on April 24, 2017 at 15:02Hi, I've VL53L0x Satellites board and according to datasheet page 21, section 3.2http://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/datasheet/group3/b2/1e/33/77/c6/92/47/6b/DM00279086/files/DM00279086.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.DM00279086.pdf I should be able to read register 0xC0 for i2c validation. I've 5V, gnd, SDA and SCL hooked up to my AArdvark total phase i2c analyzer. I also use Aardvark activity board to make sure i2c is working properly and it is working properly. However, when I hook it up to satellite board, I was not able to read anything. Posted on April 22, 2017 at 12:21I am currently trying to interface LIS2DE12 Mems Accelerometer in our project.The datasheet is all about hints more than explanationsI scrolled around datasheet and couldn't find the meaning for AOI Function interrupt,  IA_1  & IA_2 InterruptCouldn't even guess these things.What are those interrupts mean ?And one more doubt :There are interrupts for new data available in x,y and z axisWhat is that new data actually mean ?I think new data will be available in the rate of ODR (Output Data rate). Posted on December 22, 2016 at 23:04HiI'm using multiple vl6180x devices and want them to work more quick.However, when the second device starts in pre-calibration time of first device, the range data looks wrong.When I set the interval more than 4ms between two devices, their range data looks correct.So, I guess that in the case that two devices work simultaneously in their pre-calibration time, the interference occurs.Then, I would like to ask whether I make pre-calibration time shorter than 4.3ms or skip pre-calibration phase.I read the data sheet of vl6180X and found the pre-calibration time is fixed.However, I want absolutely multiple vl6180x devices to work simultaneously.Otherwise, I want them to work more quickly (less than 4ms interval). Is it possible?Best regardsIshikawa#vl6180 #multiple-vl6180x #vl6180x

Posted on April 21, 2017 at 17:25I tried to read the default I2C password (address 2304 with E2 = 1) that should be 0000 0000h whilst I found FFFF FFFFh. For verification I also tried to read the other System parameter sector and the returned values are matching what explained into the datasheet.I haven't implemented the function to change the password so I'm pretty sure it should be the one sent out by factory.BR,Giorgio Cancelli#m24lr04e-r

Posted on April 19, 2017 at 23:28I'm using the LSM6DS3 to control a gimbal with a camera on it, and I'm noticing that my control is suffering due to delay in the system. I have configured the LSM6DS3 for an output datarate of 208Hz, with the fifo in bypass mode and I'm also sampling the sensor at 208Hz. However when I measure the delta between a physical input to the camera and the observable difference in the LSM6DS3 readings, I see about 20ms of delay. When I increase the datarate of the sensor to 833Hz, the delay is reduced to roughly 10ms, but this delay still seems rather large.Is there any spec on the bandwidth/ delay/ latency of this sensor? What can I do to get the absolute latest readings from it?#lsm6ds3

Posted on October 18, 2016 at 09:49Hi!The HTS221 sensor and LPS25HB pressure sensor are together in the development board. The temperature difference between the output of the two sensors too high. HTS221 temperature value is close to the actual temperature, LPS25HB outputs 5~10'C lower than that at room temperature environment.The output temperature of the two devices is a 2's complement form of the same.I'm not sure about the cause of this difference is.Please give advice on this matter.Best regards.Kwon #lps25hb
