STM32F446RCT6 .. bootloader problemits not dected in DFU mode  

Hi,I'm hoping this is the correct forum to ask this question. I am developing an industrial product using STM32 devices and I need to add ethernet capability to the product. I have a moderate amount of embedded development experience but zero networking/ethernet/iot experience. I do not know where to start with this addition. There are a number of acronyms floating around the internet but I have no idea what is relevant and what I need to know (tcp/ip, udp, ftp, lwip, aws, sockets, ports, packets etc.) What fundamentals do I need to understand in order to help me get this project off the ground? As my ethernet project requires only the slowest of transfer rates (kilobytes at most) I have currently opted for using a wiznet chip (as used in arduino) and RJ45 with embedded magnetics to make the design simpler. Any guidance or pointers would be appreciated.

An existing project runs on STM32F091, it use CMSIS USART driver (ARM_DRIVER_USART Driver_USART1). Now I need to migrate this project to run on STM32G070. But in CubeMX for STM32G070, there aren't any USART driver under CMSIS driver, except a header file for customary implementation. So what is the best way to migrate UART functionality? Do I need to implement a similar CMSIS USART driver for G0 series? (CMSIS should be easier for migration, now it seems to cause more trouble.)

I am using STM32F446RET6 with STM32CubeMX and STM32CubeIDE to create an SPI slave device using SPI1 in DMA mode using the HAL SPI driver. I call HAL_SPI_Receive_DMA() in main to receive 1 byte from the attached SPI master device. It is successful, and I get to the HAL_SPI_RxCpltCallback() function. In that callback function I call HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA() to exchange 2 bytes of data bidirectionally with the master. It is apparently successful, and I get to the HAL_SPI_TxRxCpltCallback() function. In that callback function I call HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA() again to transmit a data packet to the master of some length (determined by the previous 2 bytes). Although the master SPI device does generate the correct number of clock pulses, this third data transfer never completes and I never get to the HAL_SPI_TxRxCpltCallback() function again. Hi,I am working on interfacing the SD card with the following requirement :CMSIS V2 + FATFS + SDMMC with DMA on STM32L462.I have configured the project in CubeMX Version 1.3.0. The CMSIS V2 with FREERTOS has been selected from the CUBEMX configuration and using FATFS system for handling data on SD card. The SDMMC has been configures with DMA having two separate channels for Rx and Tx.The f_mkfs is working but after that when i call f_mount it is failing. Following are my observations:when the f_mount function is called, as part of this functionality the FATFS reads the data from the SD card. Here the function BSP_SD_ReadBlocks_DMA() is called. In the further debugging it is observed that the read data command has been sent to the sd card by sdmmc and upon response from sd card the read data has been stored into the FIFO of the sdmmc peripheral. While trying to test out the USB-PD middleware, I generated a project for the STM32G071RB Nulceo dev board with Tracer EMB and GUI interface enabled. Generating the code works fine however, I'm getting a compile error that traces back to the FLASH_SIZE macro in stm32g071xx.hIf I turn off the GUI module, the error goes away.I was able to work around the problem by changing the FLASH_SIZE macro to just be the hard-coded size of the flash on my part, but this isn't a good solution.The weird thing is, once I got the project to compile and load, I was able to past the original macro expression into the debugger expression evaluator and it came back with the correct answer (0x20000), so it doesn't seem to be a simple syntax error.Here is the error:In file included from ../Drivers/CMSIS/Device/ST/STM32G0xx/Include/stm32g0xx.h:117, from ../Core/Inc/usbpd_gui_memmap.h:31, from ../Utilities/GUI_INTERFACE/bsp_gui.h:23, from ../Utilities/GUI_

I have a report descriptor that consist of 456 bytes. The problem is : When i define USBD_CUSTOM_HID_REPORT_DESC_SIZE   456 in usbd_conf.h file, it raises overlow warning and my hid device no longer works. How can i define hid descriptor size bigger than 255?

I want to use STM32F070F6 usb dfu mode to upload program. The document An2606 page 53 says:If HSE is present and has a value of 24, 18, 16, 12, 8, 6, 4 MHz, the system clock is configured to 48 MHz with HSE as clock source. The DFU interface, USART1, USART2 and I2C1 are functional and can be used to communicate with the bootloader device.So I use 12MHz external clock, and connect PA11/PA12 to usb, BOOT0 to HIGH. But the pc always show "Unknow USB Device".Has anyone know how to let STM32F070F6 use USB DFU bootloader?

I have to know if the file will stay into the mcu memory in this way and if the c program will work or if this idea il wrong and i cant do in this way.

Hello, I'm having trouble about use of lwip on Stm32h743. I'm using udp raw. I'm transmitting packet with 1ms period, there is no problem in sending/receiving. After 20-30 min, program is going to hardfault with 'Imprecise data access violation'. It is occuring at mem_free(void *rmem) function in mem.c file. The stack was just like this: GATEWAY_ADDRESS() -> mem_free() -> HardFault. I'm also attaching the disassembly. Thank you for your helps.

I have a STM32G431 project that was originally created with STM32CubeMX using HAL drivers. I need to port some of this code to another project that was originally built by CubeMX using LL Drivers by another engineer.The specific problem I have is my initialization of Timer4 is not working in the new project. What I mean is I can step through MX_TIM4_Init() in the new project using the HAL drivers and everything goes okay but when I execute  if (HAL_TIM_Base_Init(&htim4) != HAL_OK) {  Error_Handler(); }It returns without error but no registers are changed in Timer4. USB mass storage device. SD card «SanDisk U-3», 4 bites bus, FAT32, without external transceiver.Base of my project isSTM32Cube_FW_H7_V1.8.0\Projects\STM32H743I-EVAL\Applications\USB_Device\MSC_StandaloneI have the read speed near 1.5 Mbytes per second and the write speed near 360 kBytes per second. I wrote and red one large file of 350 Mbytes size. This is with following clocks: Kern_SDMMC_clock - 200 MHz, SDMMC_clock - 50 MHz, SysClock - 480 MHz. When Kern_SDMMC_clock is equal to 2 MHz and SDMMC_clock 2 MHz I have same read and write speeds.For the same task before I used the STM32F437 with SPL. Speeds were larger in 5..6 times. Is it possible to increase the speeds of STM32H743ii at least in 10 times.

Everything runs perfectly fine.But when I activate DMA by enabling DMA template in FatFscreating DMA channel for SDMMC1 RX and TXenabling the DMA and SDMMC1 interruptsI can see that the code in sd_diskio.c has changed, and two IRs have been generated.But the mounting and/or reading of the SD card fails.This worked with v.4.22 (even without creating DMA channels), but now doesn't.What is missing here?#fatfs #dma

I am using an STM32F407 processor chip and want to operate as I2C Master on two interfaces, I2C2 and I2C3. It is essential for our application that both busses can be utilised efficiently (with minimal gaps between transactions) and at the same time. Also I am interfacing with existing devices which expect to be driven using the repeated start condition.I am therefore using the functions HAL_I2C_Master_Seq_Transmit_IT() and HAL_I2C_Master_Seq_Receive_IT() to operate in non-blocking sequential/interrupt mode. I use the "Transmit" function to send a message to the slave and then inside the "Transmit Complete" function HAL_I2C_MasterTxCpltCallback() I use the "Receive" function to obtain the slave's response.This all works perfectly EXCEPT that the "Transmit" function appears to block for the duration of the entire transmission, and doesn't seem to return until the "Receive Complete" function HAL_I2C_MasterRxCpltCallback() has been called.I am

I am trying to confgiure LwIP on STM32F407VET with Firmware version STM32Cube FW_F4 V1.25.0I am using SWSTM32 as IDE, and configuring hardware on STM32CubeMX 6.0.1I am not able to configure LwIP, as the code gets stuck in ASSERT statement as shown in the following image randomly. Update: Using a USB analyzer shows that we get a one bit shift in the data when we have problems writing to a USB flash drive. It can be the CRC that is bit shifted, and other times it can be the data values that are bit shifted. This sounds like an issue with the USB port, but I have not seen any errata about this problem yet. Happens a lot more often when the CPU is busy (running a lot of peripherals). We are using the internal USB phy for 12 mbps speeds, not an external phy.We recently started receiving the "V" revision CPU. Unfortunately, writes to the USB flash drive fail frequently. We do not have this problem with the older "Y" revision CPU. A failed write leaves corrupted files on the USB drive and it must be re-formatted. Our system is busy, with Ethernet, DMA, USB, and an SD card. We suspect there is some interaction between subsystems that the new CPU does not like, but have not found what it is yet. Hello,several years ago, we built an audio device based on an STM32 MCU with a cortex M4 core. The firmware is highly optimized for the audio processing and it uses few 3rd party DSP libraries.Recently, we had an urgent request from one of our major customer to add the MP3 playback capability.The good news is that ST provides a free of charge MP3 decoder (made by SpiritDSP) in the form of a pre-compiled library, the bad news is that this library is compiled with the soft float ABI.It is a bad news because our DSP libraries have been compiled with the hard float API, as they rely on the hardware FPU, and that it is not possible to link code compiled with two different ABI.And, as we cannot re-compile our 3rd libraries with the soft-fp ABI, we are stuck with incompatible binary libraries.Could you, please, provide the MP3 library compiled with hard float ABI alongside the soft float ABI variant?There must be a reason, but

I am wondering which is a faster way to stop PWM generation. Would it be through HAL_TIM_PWM_Stop or by setting __HAL_TIM_SET_COMPARE to zero? I'm getting SPI commands via a raspberry pi and then based on those values, I start or stop the motors. The larger issue at hand is if the commands are too close to each other, the motors do not start and stop properly and cause unexpected behavior. Hence what would be a faster way to start and stop the PWM?

Hi, I'm trying to L432KC to play WAV file using Adafruit MAX98357 I2S Class-D Mono Amp, SAI+DMA and I2S protocol.The code is running as one the tasks of FreeRTOS, but getting rid of RTOS doesn't help.WAV file is read from SD card, and I've already been able to play it using built-in DAC, but I wanted to use an external amp for better quality.My code gets stuck, when I'm expecting a transmit completed callback, which never happens.while (!loadNextPart) condition is always true and I'm looping endlessly.I would be expecting HAL_SAI_TxCpltCallback to change it to true at some point.512-byte buffers I use seem to be loaded correctly as I used the same logic to play the WAV files successfully from built-in DAC.Partial code is below.
