STM32 MCUs Embedded software

Hello everyone,We use a STM32F7 and we have built a bootloader which uses the USB-DFU library from ST (usbd_dfu_flash). We can successfully program the internal and external flash. We noticed that it takes quite long so we were looking for ways to increase the download speed. We found a pretty obvious bottle neck: FLASH_ERASE_TIME and FLASH_PROGRAM_TIME were set to 50ms, so the host always waits 50ms before requesting the status of the bootloader to check if it is done with erasing/flashing. If we set those values to 0, we could reduce the download time from about 6min to 40s. In this time we transfer around 6MB of data. We tested everything with an endurance test and looked into the communication with an usb analyzer and couldn't see negative effects.Why is the default 50ms which makes the erase/download really slow? In which circumstances should someone use anything other than 0? Is this only for really slow microcontrollers, so that they wont be "overl

Hi,I am working on a custom USB-PD board and trying to make a sink. To check if everything was working as is it supposed to do, I followed the "10-minute" sink example from ST. But when I connect a USB source, the sink keeps detaching the connection in the debounce fase. Hi,I'm trying to trig a DMA from the EXTI0 input. There is a good example in the STM32Cube package for the H7: Projects\STM32H743I-EVAL\Examples\DMA\DMAMUX_RequestGenBut this example uses the BDMA and I need to use the DMA1. I tried to make some modifications to the example but without success (see https://community.st.com/s/question/0D53W00000Pnct0SAB/make-the-stm32h7-example-dmamuxrequestgen-work-with-dma1-instead-of-bdma).Reading the chapter "Block interconnect" I see that the source signal is called "exti_syscfg_exti0" when connected to dmamux2_gen20, but it is called " exti_exti0_it" when connected to dmamux1_gen6. I really don't understand what it means... For sure I use DMAMUX1 with the correct signal ID, but is there something else to change from the example using BDMA/DMAMUX2 ?

Hi all:If I plug in USB 2.0 mode high speed port(PC recognition Windows7), ​frequently enter the ISO in/out incomplete interrupt. but if I plug in USB1.0 mode full speed port,is OK. I am working on USB CDC ACM device. I want to communicate with High Speed device using full speed host(NUCLEO-F411RE). As I am new to USB protocol, but I know that device starts communication in FS mode and switch to HS mode only if host respond to J-K chirp signal. Device is enumerated and detected as full speed device.Descriptor is successfully received on host It is high speed device but detected as FS to my host. Bulk endpoint(IN and OUT) size of device is 512 Bytes. Device transmits data when I send specific character to device, I transmit that data from host and host receive ACK from device.After that I am waiting for data from device, but I don't get any data.I am suspecting that it might be due to Bulk Endpoint size. When I am communication between two STM32 NUCLEO-F411RE board one as HOST and other as DEVICE then data is transmitted and received successfully.When device is connected w

Hi Everyone,I am trying to run HRTIM Master unit with repetition interrupt and the repetition counter is 1. Now, when I am in interrupt I have to update compare and period registers and using LL to do so. But, within interrupt merely updating registers using LL_HRTIM_TIM_SetPeriod(HRTIM1, LL_HRTIM_TIMER_MASTER, PRD); LL_HRTIM_TIM_SetCompare1(HRTIM1, LL_HRTIM_TIMER_MASTER, (0.5)*PRD);takes around 2usec, which is a lot for my application. Any way to do it quicker?

The software almost finishes download and then quits with forbidden. This is using chrome on Windows 10. I am trying to learn the F767ZI that I just received. Ideas?

I have created a project in STM32CubeIDE with UART and some GPIO's as Input and Output.I have created 2 Tasks using FreeRTOS - CMSIS v1(osPriorityNormal, osPriorityBelowNormal) with different osDelay(osDelay(500);, osDelay(600);). I have compiled and Flased to STM32F072CBT6 board. Both threads are working fine(Using UART printing some debug messages and blinking LEDs), after sometime board hangs, and nothing has transmitted over UART and LED also Stops blinking.

I try use systick handler in STM32G0 uC, i use LL libray. In funcion to activate Systick ( void LL_InitTick(uint32_t HCLKFrequency, uint32_t Ticks) ) is a bug.The error consists in incorrect setting of the SysTick-> CTRL (STK_CSR) configuration register, bit 1 (TICKINT) is missing.

We are trying to build a usb temperature logger. As we know that while using usb cdc we have to define VID and PID to the usb middleware. I have some question:1.Can I use ST's VID and PID in our final product version?2.If so, can I redistribute ST's Virtual COM Port driver to our customers?3.How much does it cost to use ST's VID (0x0483) and unique PID?4.We have a USB VID, but how much does it cost to change the VCP driver if we use our VID?5.Do we need to define new PID per piece of the product or does it remains same for all pieces in one type of product?

Has anyone any experience of using both USB ports on a H7 as HID hosts? Use is for a mouse and keyboard. Does the ST USB host firmware support using both ports in this way?I can start work on this but it would be nice to know ahead of time that it has some chance of workingThanks

So, for a project, I needed a CDC and MIDI composite device. So after some research and learning, I based my code around the CubeMX generated CDC example.I then modified the descriptors accordingly, created functions for transmitting and receiving on those specific EPs, and life was good. Until I ran into an issue where if I attempted to transmit more than 6 MIDI messages (4 bytes each), it would transmit garbage, and then all future transmissions on that EP were also garbage.After some digging, I realized that I never configured the PMA for my IN/OUT endpoints for the MIDI interface (I'm using 0x83 and 0x3). So I'm unsure of why it was working with small data packets in the first place, and also how to get it working. I've done a lot of digging and trawling through the reference manuals for the STM32G4 and can't quite wrap my head around why it's not working. Hello, is there any example available that implements audio reads from the from CN11 jack connector on 32F746GDISCOVERY board?

I placed the whole firmware on SRAM of STM32F746 and the reset handler is called from bootloader. the application firmware(app) is a simple one with led blinking and printing some messages on the terminal. I modified the linker script so that VMAs of all sections begins in SRAM. So it would be okay to place the firmware any address I want only if I can copy the sections to the correct VMA. The app works in its simplest form. But it doesn't work if I call a function with variable arguemnts like sprintf() or I call strlen().I don't know that the problem causes this. Maybe due to newlib I use has been compiled with wrong options. Or I made a mistake with the linker script. What am I missing?The layout for the custom bootloader and the apps on the FLASH is like below.
