Hi, I am a beginner STM32 user. I am exploring the STMCube ecosystem and some simple functions my MCU can do. However, I stuck on generating PWM signal (I simply dont get any signal on the pin, tried few different pins), which based on some youtube STMCube tutorials should be really easy. I want to make a structured project for stm32 with cmake where I want to make A parent folder like Stm32f4 and in that folder there will be multiple projects like blink, adc, uart and also there will be necessary header and source file(Hal) which will be shared among all the projects. Have anyone doing something like that if then It will be very helpful for me if you can share it with me. Thanks in advance 

Posted on February 23, 2014 at 13:44Hello,I want to port uClinux on my STM32F4 Discovery board.I followed this tutorial :http://www.st.com/st-web-ui/static/active/jp/resource/technical/document/application_note/CD00242717.pdfand I have successfully(I hope) installed the bootloader and the kernel into the memory.However, I'm now stuck on how to get a terminal and send Linux commands to the board. I have a USB to UART adapter and I have now idea how to do it. is it even possible? given that the tutorial is done using the STM3210E-EVAL board which has a ready USART port.any help would be appreciated

 Hello, I just bought an stm32 Nucleo-H743ZI2 and I can't upload a program with CubeIDE because it doesn't detect the stlink. Searching for solutions on Google, it seems it could be a firmware issue, and with STlink utility I get the same error, 'cannot establish a connection with the target', even after firmware update. Also, when I connect the board to the computer, a popup window appears with a text file containing an error message 'The interface firmware FAILED to reset/halt the target MCU'. What can I do in this case?

I'm trying to send ADC results over to a receiver via UART, but somewhy the program freezes on sprintf() IF I have called HAL_ADC_Start_DMA() before. If I call sprintf() before HAL_ADC_Start_DMA() it works fine. However, I need to call it after starting the DMA. Hello,I have set the BR bit in CR1 to 0 with the expectation of obtaining an 8MHz clock frequency. However, I am encountering an actual frequency of approximately 1.042MHz. Does anyone have an explanation for this issue, or should I consider implementing any calibration procedure for the clock? Best regards,

Using STM32CubeIDE (v1.14.0) with STM32F042F6P7 (TSSOP 20) to configure CAN pins on custom board. However the CAN peripheral is grayed-out when I open the IOC file in STM32CubeIDE. For pin assignments, PB8 is available for CAN rx but CAN tx is not show for any other pin. How do I access alternate pins for the CAN peripheral? Reference manual says PA12 should be available as alternate for CAN tx; and PA11 should be available as alternate for CAN rx.

Hi,I wanted to send hexadecimal numbers through UART. I am using STM32F405. Can it be done.If I am sending float number as 1.3456 string (text) to windows COM port to  english language windows application field. If for example regional settings being changed on the windows to german language and return float number as 1,3456.Sending the float number as hexadecimal will that sort out the problem. Any suggestions?   

Hi, I'm using a STM32G07x1 that will need to receive firmware updates from an embedded Linux CPU. The only connection between these devices is an I2C bus so I plan to use the ROM I2C bootloader to handle updates.I am aware of AN4221 that describes how to use the I2C bootloader commands, but are there any example scripts or C/C++ programs that demonstrate programming a STM32 MCU over I2C? Thanks,Josh

Hello,I'm trying to use DMA with an Usart to receive incoming data in a circular buffer. Basically this is my code for configuration using UART5. I can send data, so i assume, that port und clock configuration is correct. When receiving data, NDTR is couting down but there is no data copied into the buffer M0AR. Uart5 uses DMA1 Stream0, Channel 4. FIFOs are not used.When i switch to polling receiving without dma, everything works. Hello I am in the task of adding a new flash as an external flash via QSPI interface with the MCU STM32F777ZITx.The flash that I want to add is S25FL256L as an external flash. I am not finding any references which I can use with this flash. Also it is not getting clear to me whether I need to make an external loader for mapping the external flash in memory mapped mode or only configuration is needed ?

On first reading I thought that 80 .. 160 Mhz in range 1 is not possible! Or does this imply a special handling needed when in Range 1 and target frequency is 1..80 MHz while with target frequency 80 .. 160 Mhz the handling explained before is needed?

Hi developers,   I'm new to STM32 MCU, but recently need to use it for a automotive Ethernet board design. The ethernet PHY I am going to use supports the jumbo frame up to 16kByte. Do anyone happen to know if STM32F407VGT6 can also support this jumbo frame feature or only for standard 1518Byte eth frame?   (if not, ss there any MCU from ST suggestion that support this jumbo frame feature.    Thanks!!!

I'm trying to read and write SPI bytes from an STM32F446RE chip with DMA.  The STM32f4 is the slave and a RPi is the master.  The first SPI read works fine (data read into buffer starting at index 0), but subsequent reads have the data starting at index 1 instead of index 0.  I tried resetting the SPI peripheral with this bit of code I found on the forums: #define RESETSPI {\ HAL_SPI_Abort(&hspi2);\ __HAL_RCC_SPI2_FORCE_RESET();\ __HAL_RCC_SPI2_RELEASE_RESET();\ }  This fixes the reading off by 1, but it results in the last byte sent back to the PI to be wrong. Does anyone know what might be happening or how I might address it?

Hi!I use the RTC of a STM32G030K6T. It is clocked by LSI (appr. 32kHz). And PREDIV_A is 0x0 and PREDIV_S is 0x7FFF. So I expect that RTC_SSR overflows every 1.024sec...But: It overflows every 0.687sec... As if the LSI frequency would be 47712Hz...I mentioned this after I soldered the positive contact of a LiFePO4 battery... Now I cannot easily disconnect power... Triggering the reset pin does not change the fast RTC... A software reset does not help, too...How could I possibly damage the LSI by making a solder joint at the other side of the board? I even have a voltage clamp at 3.5V and a LDO (3.0V) between that solder joint and the STM32G030.Or is it more likely that I made some last minute firmware changes? What could that be?Thx.Bye.

Hi I m using SPI DMA on H7 series, and notice under SPIx_TX and SPIx_RX there are at least 14 DMA channels to choose from, i.e DMA1 Stream 0-7 and DMA2 0-7. Can i select these "channel"  randomly or is there a reference manual that state otherwise? Likewise i saw the same case in USART DMA too, anyone can advise?

Hey everyone, I'm learning about USB CDC and soon USB HID. I think I successfully program the stm32 as a cdc device because I can connect to it, and I can read and write serial commands through a terminal. I can even catch the serial buffer through the CDC Receive function. I used cubemx and middleware for generating the usb cdc But my question is, on device manager, the stm32 cdc does not show up as "stm32 virtual comport" but as a regular Usb serial device. This happens to in windows 10 and 11. I used STM32H563 transmit a message through I3C CCC direct.I create a new CCC command "0xA0".Control send the command to target.But target will enter HAL_I3C_ER_IRQHandlerUesd the general command "0x89".The target can receive this command. The Buffer is same.
