A couple of weeks ago STM32Cube disappeared off my computer. I went a got the install file for the most recent version (2.1.1). Since I have installed this when I try to import an old project into the workspace or use MX to generate code when trying to configure the pin outs to start a new project it keep trying to import lots of additional projects giving prompts that the project is old, it will be removed the new version will be installed. It then tries to import the STM32072B_EVAL project and hangs up.

All the projects I'm trying to work with at the moment are based on the NUCLEO-F413 board.

These are the imported projects, none of these are the project I'm trying to import.

This is when it hangs.

When recovering to the "last known good" state, it is always best to use exactly same version of the software. You've jumped to the most recent version instead - likely, without checking first what has changed.

I didn't know what version I had previously had installed and no longer had the install file for that version. I installed the most recent version as I wasn't expecting it to create a problem, maybe that was naive of me.

@GTann.1 For the future - ST website allows downloading previous versions of software.  If a specific old version is not available via "get software" pages, the online support (ols) can help to get it.
