STM32CubeIDE symbol definition

STM32CubeIDE does not properly recognize defined symbols. Set symbol 'DEBUG' for the debug build configuration but not in the release ones. Changing active build configuration will not show differences in the editor view (#ifdef DEBUG). Works fine in Truestudio. What's wrong?
