STM32CubeIDE Update not working

I get the following error during update in eclipse.

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed

session context was:(profile=STM32CubeIDE, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).

No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.epp.mpc.core,1.8.1.v20191107-0507

MPC version 1.8.1 was delivered in line with Eclipse 2019-12. Note that STM32CubeIDE didn't migrate to 2019-12 for now.

The 1.8.1 version is not provided by http://sw-center.st.com/stm32cubeide/updatesite1 (STM32CubeIDE repository), thus it means that some other URLs are defined (Eclipse 2019-12 for example). Or there is something more serious behind your issue.

Hi BelSoft,

That's probably due to a well known bug in Eclipse, existing for a while.

Could you check if the MPC EPP Marketplace Client update-site URL exists in Window > Preferences > Install/Update > Available Software Sites?

If so then uncheck or remove it and try again.

Hi Julien

I found that bug info as well and tried it. But it didn't resolve my issue. :(

I have http://sw-center.st.com/stm32cubeide/updatesite1/ URL as STM32CubeMX Site. I also tried to change from http to https.

No luck so far.

I'm not aware that I updated Eclipse. I did install a Git Plugin. After I unticked EPP Marketplace Client, CDT and org.eclipse.e4.ui.. I could update STM32CubeIDE.

Good news !

Yes maybe my suggestion to uncheck "MPC" wasn't clear enough, mpc wording is only a small part of the URL, should have wrote "EPP Marketplace Client".

Hi Julien

I have the same problem on my MacBook with updating STM32CubeIDE, but as it's not Windows I don't know where to look for the available software sites - any suggestions?

Aha - solved the first problem - found the software sites under Preferences, Install/Update, Available Software Sites

However, I got this error during the update:

file:///Applications/STM32CubeIDE.app/Contents/Eclipse/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.informationcenter_1.0.2.201907091052/welcome/index.html

Page load failed with error: The requested URL was not found on this server.

Yes, that's a well known STM32CubeIDE issue too, not sure to be part of the Release Note anyway.

To get the Welcome Page working after an update you must have to click the Home button from the view toolbar.

Hopefully we will have a fix in one of the next releases, but there are also more important topics to consider..

I may be getting somewhere - the Project Explorer window wasn't visible, and Eclipse was complaining because the project had already been imported.

It is now updated successfully to version 1.2.1

I tried few things and issue is solved. I don't know which one worked so I will write it down all of it.

First Help->Eclipse Marketplace->Then pressed update on the button that popped up at top.

Second STM32CUBEIDE-> Preferences-> Install/Update -> Available Software Sites -> uncheck the MPC, check the CDT

Then Help-> Check For updates.

Also I deleted cache folder at /Applications/STM32CubeIDE.app/Contents/Eclipse/p2/org.eclipse.equinox.p2.repository don't know if its related.
