Timer interrupts are not working in STMCubeIDE

Hello all,

I'm using STMCubeIDE to program an STM32F042K6-T6 development board. I'm attempting to set up an elapsed time interrupt, but it doesn't seem to be working. I am running my chip at 8MHz, and I want to try blinking an LED once a second using the HAL_TIM_PeriodElapsedCallback function.

Here's what I set my configuration to:

0693W000000U8p2QAC.png

Prescalar and ARR give me 8MHz/(8000 * 1000) = 1 second period0693W000000U8p7QAC.png

I enable the HAL_TIM_Base_Start_IT(&htim3) function, and then run the code, but the interrupt is never called.

What's going on here?

I figured it out...my callback function was inside the main function, instead of the global namespace. For anyone else with this issue, make sure to define callback functions outside main!
