Hello,Do you have a FDA accession number for the VL53L4CX ToF chip? I can find only the document "VL53L4 IEC 60825-1 CB test certificate (eye safety)" at the attachments and there it isn't noted. Furthermore I guess it is not the same as for the VL53L5CX.Regards Tobias

Hi @John E KVAM ,I am planning to interface stmvl53l8cx with cypress cx3 controller. I did not find any Register Reference for it to access the TOF registers. Instead I find  en.STSW-IMG042.zip SDK for raspberry pi . Should I port this SDK to my microcontroller ? Is there any protocol document for communicating with the MCU inside stmvl53l8cx ? Can I have a simpler c program for communicating with the MCU inside stmvl53l8cx , instead of having kernel and user space layers ? Regards,Vikaash.K.B

Since the opening of bottles may be small, I'm looking for something with very narrow field of view. Also, because bottles have different heights, we can't reliably place the sensor right on top of the opening.The bottles may be transparent or not, and may have dark liquids inside of them (or worse yet, carbonated beverages).Is there a liquid level sensor that can still work under these conditions?

Dear ST Team,As the title of this article suggests, I have encountered an issue where the standby power consumption of the ST original VL53L1X-SATEL far exceeds the value stated in the datasheet. The first image below shows the power consumption data, and the second image is the power consumption description of the device from the datasheet.In my attempts, I have not made any hardware modifications to the VL53L1X-SATEL nor used an MCU to communicate or write to the registers of VL53L1X. I connected XSDN_I to the power GND to enter the hardware shutdown mode, with an input voltage of 2.8V. According to the power consumption parameters in the second image, I am puzzled because the value is much higher than what is stated in the datasheet.Additionally, I noticed that the VL53L1X-SATEL has a voltage regulator and level-shifting chip. HiI am trying to use this on a raspberry pi4 running ubuntu 2404. I am able to run make successfully but on trying to run the generated binary I get./spdkit error while loading shared libraries: /lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/libc.so: invalid ELFI don't know what to do to fix it. I'm extracting the histogram data from the VL53L8CH. In the 8x8 mode, we are limited to few bins (~18) per reading. Is there a way to configure the sensor to oscillate the starting bin configuration so that I can get better range with the same bin precision? For example, in a cycle read bins 0-17, then bin 18-35, etc. If this is possible, is there guidance for how this can be done? Following the code from Example_12_cnh_data.c, is it possible to setup multiple configurations within a loop, such as vl53lmz_cnh_init_config(&cnh_config, 0, 18, 1), vl53lmz_cnh_init_config(&cnh_config, 18, 18, 1), etc?

I am trying to run multiple VL53L5CX-TOF-sensors with a single Pi Pico to be able to stitch together multiple of the sensor images.However for this to work I have to change the i2c addresses of the sensors.I am trying to use the set_i2c_address function for this.I have read the steps from the usage guide about enabling/disabling additional sensors on the same i2c bus via the LPn pin but whenever I try to call the set_i2c_address even with just a single sensor connected I get  RuntimeError: VL53L5CX: set_i2c_address error.Currently I am using the Pimoroni Firmware that provides a driver accessible via micropython that just calls the ULD firmware / driver for the VL53L5CX. I am not sure if something about my approach/order is wrong or if there might be an issue with the ULD driver itself.I would greatly

Hello,This is in regard to the question I posted at the webinar on AI-powered gesture recognition with Time-of-Flight sensors held on 3/11.  Can the orientation of the VL53L8CX ToF sensor be detected in case it is moved and possibly gets inverted after training is done?  I'm interested in correctly detecting gestures like LIKE/DISLIKE and SWIPE RIGHT/LEFT even if the sensor has been turned upside down after the overall device is trained.  The solution should work correctly for left- and right-handed persons.  It's ok to add MEMS sensors to the overall project but I prefer trying to solve problems with software first rather than just throw hardware at them, as long as the extra software doesn't bog down the MCU.Thanks in advance and best regards,Bruce

My most recent test is a measurement of an empty black bucket with a white sheet inside (to increase reflectivity). If your VL53L8CX gets past the 'is_alive' function but you cannot get it to run, it might be because you are running on a big-endian machine, and the ST code you downloaded assumes a little-endian machine. Try swapping your vl53l8cx_is_alive function with this one. Hi,I have downloaded "GestureEVK_v1.5.0" and tried "gesture recognition" function.It can be launched by GUI and worked well.I also downloaded "STSW-IMG035_F401" and tried to run "gesture recognition".However, it keeps printing the messages as shown below.I have no idea how to let "STSW-IMG035_F401" start running "gesture recognition" and output results through UART after downloading to NUCLEO-F401RE?(No need to enter a start aommand.)Could you guide me in detail about how to modify the code of "STSW-IMG035_F401" to achieve this objective?Thank you. 

Hi. I have question regarding VL53L8CX ToF sensor. The minimum distance is 2cm. The space between the objects being measured is less then that. Was wondering if it will be possible to reflect the light off from a mirror at 45 degrees to increase the distance between sensor and object being scanned? Thanks for the assistance Jonathan

The complete library is too large for my chip's Flash memory, and the ULP library's ranging capabilities and accuracy do not meet my requirements.
