Interface and connectivity ICs

Hi everyone,I would like to design my own PCB with BlueNRG. It will be simple board with BlueNRG and H3LIS331DL sensor, very similar to STEVAL-BCN002V1. Schematic of this PCB is clear for me, but I don't have any expieriences of developing RF antennas. Datasheet of antenna's chip is very poor. Can someone give some solutions or design rules?P.S. Where is it possible to buy STEVAL-BCN002V1?Thanks a lotPaweł

When requesting a scan with duplicates filtered like this:aci_gap_start_general_discovery_proc(ScanInterval, ScanWindow, PUBLIC_ADDR, true);I would like to not receive duplicates during that scan. But when that scan expires (after what is it, 10 or 11 seconds?), or after that scan is explicitly stopped, and then later, or even immediately after receiving the GAP procedure complete for the general scan, when a new scan is started with the same command:aci_gap_start_general_discovery_proc(ScanInterval, ScanWindow, PUBLIC_ADDR, true);This new scan should not be using the database of duplicate addresses from the last scan, after all, it is a new scan, so until an address is seen on this scan, it should not be a duplicate. But this is just my way of thinking, because the duplicate address database is preserved in between separate scans.So how can the duplicate address database be flushed in between scans (or even during on ongoing scan)?Thanks,

Hi All,First of all I apologise for posting this question in the wrong group as I didn't find the appropriate field to choose from the drop down menu list. The kind of response that I get from ST community is very fast and appreciable so I didn't mind asking in this group.My question : We are developing a medical device for measuring physical parameters. In the mechanical that we have chosen consists of 2 PCBs which are spaced at a height of 1.4 m inside the enclosure. I would like to know what type of board-to-board connector (FPC/FFC) should be used so that I can comfortably send 16 signals from one PCB to another.Please help.

I need a solution ideally based on stm32 + ethernet switch with PTP which has multiple (8 100 Mb fiber/copper ethernet ports). Could someone give me a clue for such a switch which will be suitable for stm32 or ideally  recommend me development board applicable for my goal.

I'm using a STWD100NPWY3F watchdog timer, and I can't get it working according to the datasheet. I have the following connections:VCC: 3.3VGND: GNDEN: GNDWDO: 10K pull up to VCCWDI: pull down to GND and toggled to VCCWDO stays low and keeps the MCU in a reset state. If I pull EN high, WDO goes high and the MCU operates. With EN low, even at startup, the WDO remains low. I have tried toggling WDI high and low, but WDO never changes state unless I pull EN high (which disables it).

I'm using the SPBTLE-RF module controlled with microcontroller STM32F051K8U6. Connection is ok and I can send services, charact and descriptors successfully to my phone app. I'm using STM32_BlueNRG library from ST. I create each service by calling aci_gatt_add_serv(...) from bluenrg_gatt_aci.c. This routine assigns a serviceHandler to each service that is properly created in the BLE module after having sent the service creation request to the BLE module with hci_send_req(...).The problem is that when the number of attributes sent to the BLE module reaches 63, variable resp.status inside aci_gatt_add_serv(...) gets value 0x1F just after having executed hci_send_req(...), and no more serviceHandlers are provided, so I cannot create more services/charact/descriptors. My interpretation is that the SPBTLE-RF module doesn't accept more than 63 attirbutes. Is that correct? Is it possible to change this limit?Thanks very much.

I look in to sample project and it work fine, but it use static string for send with DMA UART, for example ALIGN_32BYTES (uint8_t aTxBuffer[]) = " *****UART_TwoBoards communication based on DMA***** *****UART_TwoBoards communication based on DMA***** *****UART_TwoBoards communication based on DMA***** ";it use "text", but when i try use dynamic data, or try change aTxBuffer then no result, DMA with UART always send zeros (000000....). Question, how can i send any dynamic data with UART and DMA. For now i use HAL_UART_Transmit_IT and it work fine, but i need DMA (HAL_UART_Transmit_DMA ). Thanks.

BlueNRG-MS is initialized with CONFIG_DATA_MODE_OFFSET as Mode3 or Mode4, still fails.BlueNRG-MS is initialized as GAP_CENTRAL_ROLE_IDB05A1.BlueNRG-MS is not otherwise scanning or advertising or in a connection as a master or a slave.Note that general scan works, so thisaci_gap_start_general_discovery_proc(192, 96, PUBLIC_ADDR, false);returns success.

The sources are from BlueNRG-1.2_DK_2.6.0 kit.Unfortunatelly, when I download the image, the board does nothing: no led blinking, no BLE communication.However, when I download prebuilt image (from Firmware folder in the development kit) it works fine.What I am doing wrong?Kind regards,Piotr

My application is to have an Android app that detects a single GPIO input (a button press) from the BlueNRG2 module. Is there a more simple starting point than the BlueMS application and it's companion firmware project? I am using Atollic (thank you for Atollic TrueStudio!) and Android Studio. I can build and load both the firmware stack and application and the Android app BlueMS application. I'm having trouble understanding how to modify the examples to recognize a button press on the STEVAL-IDB008V2.

Posted on July 09, 2018 at 14:13Hello all,I am using the DTM for bluenrg-1 I can program the unit and it will work fine but for some reason when the unit is left powered down for a couple of hours and then powered up again some times stops working.Doing a flash reading starting in address 0x10040000 I can see the next difference:On the unit that is working:00 60 00 20 61 16 04 10 29 18 04 10 39 18 04 10On the unit that stops working:00 00 00 20 61 16 04 10 29 18 04 10 39 18 04 10For some reason that byte changes value.Any idea why that problem could happen.Thank you

Hello,​The data sheet for BlueNRG-MS specifies the tx power from -18 dBm to +8 dBm. However, the data sheet from SPBTLE-RF, which embeds the BlueNRG-MS, specifies the maximum tx power as +4 dBm. Where does the 4 dB loss come from? Does this mean, that the real tx power range for the SPBTLE-RF goes from -22 dBm to +4 dBm?Is it correct, that the SPBTLE-RF uses the JOHANSON P/N 2450AT18A100 antenna (see FCC document), which would result in an antenna gain of -0.5 dBi?

Posted on April 30, 2018 at 13:23Hi, I am attempting to implement a Bluetooth Mesh Network using a ST32F401RE and the NUCLEO-IDB05A1 Bluetooth header.  I am wondering if this is possible?  As the only example I could find (http://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/stsw-bnrg-mesh.html&sharpgetsoftware-scroll) uses a NUCLEO-L152RE with the same Bluetooth header (NUCLEO-IDB05A1) as I am using. Any advice would be very much appreciated.#nucleo-f401 #f401re #ble-mesh

I am using the board STEVAL-ILL083V1 for controlling street light i.e. on/off/dimming. According to the given package it can be performed for individual board. Now I am thinking of to treat STEVAL-ILL083V1 as a node and want to take several such nodes to implement them in mesh topology. Now how can I do this . Do I want any DCU (data concentrator unit ) here. And is there any firmware available for both the node and border router(DCU) working in mesh topology?? Thank youApoorva Rampal

Hello, I recently buy a new Nucleo-L4R5ZI-P board and I am trying to use it with the X-NUCLEO-IDB05A1 expansion board to develop a BLE application but it is being really stressful because although I am following the guide "Getting started with the STMicroelectronics BlueNRG-MS software package for STM32CubeMX", with the SensorDemo example, I cannot achieve it and in the Bluetooh app "BlueNRG" doesn't appear the "BlueNRGChat" with the cube and the other parameters.Some times its appear, but when I connect to it says something like "No valid characteristic found. Wrong firmware?..."If someone could help me I really appreciate it because it is really frustrating than following the guide provided by ST it doesn't work.Thank you,Alex :)
