Posted on August 19, 2016 at 06:37Hello, We are working on 9 Axis Sensor : LSM9DS0 which is interfaced with MCU over I2C interface. Please find the attached circuit diagram for your reference. Also, We have checked using evaluation board (STEVAL-MKI154V1) then it works fine with our customized on board controller, but our on board LSM9DS0 sensor not given acknowledgment. We have noticed not getting voltage on C1_XM & SETC_XM , SETP_XM.  Here we are using the below slave I2C address:Accelerometer address - 0x3CGyroscope address - 0xD4We have done below approaches but not getting any acknowledgement.1. Change pull resistor from 10K to 4.7K / 2.2K2. Remove connection of VDD_IO from VDD3. We have observed I2C waveform (I2C Address) is OK except acknowledgement.please give us clarification for VDD_IO pin is this pin is used as NC(not

Posted on November 02, 2016 at 15:27Hello!Im working with the LSM9DS0 and would like to get further Information about the used Magnetometer.Is there a way to get information about the Hysteresis, Linearity and Repeatibility Error in %FS (or mGauss) for the Magnetometer Sensor used in the LSM9DS0?Thank you for your help!

Posted on March 16, 2015 at 07:14At work I am using the LIS3DH accelerometer to detect body motion.  It is configured for +/-2 gs, 50 samples per second, with Streaming FIFO.  The watermark works fine for determining when the FIFO needs to be emptied.  The specification says that all three XY&Z axis can be high-pass filtered using CTRL_REG2 (address 0x21), but documentation is not totally clear.  I'm writing 0x11 to the filter register with no luck.   HPM1-HPM0 are set to 1, 0.  The cut off frequency bits are set to 0, 0 which should give a 1Hz cutoff at 50 samples per second.  Hopefully someone has documentation on configuring the high-pass filter that I do not.  Or someone has successfully implemented the filter and can tell me what they used. #lis3dh-hpfilter

Posted on November 09, 2016 at 07:32I am using LIS332AR mems chip for vibration measurement. Assembled this chip in PCB and PCB located vertical with respect to ground. For every 90 degree rotation of this chip corresponding X and Y axis value changed either +1g or -1g. for 0g condition, voltage will be vcc/2. If change in X axis as +1g Y to be 0g. So the voltage of X axis is (vcc/2)+0.6V(Sensitivity) and Y axis to be (vcc/2). While giving any vibration, it is generating spike for 0.6V(sensitivity) amplitude with 80ms time. Whether can be use this accelerometer for vibration measurement and also for tilt application.

Posted on November 09, 2016 at 20:03Hi,I just got new MKI109V2 motherboard, and installed the driver for DFU and VCP. At the beginning, I can detect VCP on my PC and use DFU DEMO to upgrade firmware. After upgrading firmware DFU_Patcher_V1.0.2.dfu, I cannot detect VCP anymore but still be able to upgrade FW via DFU DEMO and then none of VCP and DFU was able to detected on PC. Now my motherboard D5 LED is always ON.My question is how I can reprogram it with what firmware is supposed to be. I got eMotionV2_REL_4_2.dfu from the package of stsw-mki109w. Thx! #steval-mki109v2

And I want LSM303AGR to send an INT1 to the CPU to wake.I am thinking to use the accelerometer to determine this jerk. Magnetometer will be in sleep state.How do Iconfigure the device? The jerk is manual. Could be along any axis. And alsocould be rotational movement. So my estimate is that the jerk will be there for 25ms. It will move the device by about 2mm on any axis, It is not a very sudden movement. You can categorize the jerk to be like rotating a knob on a audio system.Whatparameters do I need to set to detect this jerk.Are thereany arduino code for this device?Thanks #lsm303agr

Posted on November 06, 2016 at 07:33Hi From the spec I see, LSM303DLHC has magnetic range as 8.1g. And LSM303AGR as 50g.So what does that mean? Which one more sensitive? which one more accurate?Does that mean, unless there is a big delta in magnetism change, LSM303AGR does not detect?Thanks #lsm303agr #lsm303dlhc

Posted on November 03, 2016 at 01:31So as in title I'm having problem in configuring LSM6DS3 to send DRDY on INT1 and INT2 lines. Basically I wan't to have drdy of acc on int1 and drdy of gyro on int2. However after writing to both INT1 and INT2 registers I'm still not getting any sort of interrupts on any of those lines? Could anyone give here an advice maybe I'm misssing something and there is additional stuff to write to registers?? 

Posted on November 01, 2016 at 10:14I'm trying to get an LIS3DH accelerometer working and I have a question about the output data.It seems to be very ''noisy''. I have the board with the accelerometer on a flat table.I've set the data rate to 100hz and 2g fullscale , high res mode on.The data seems to jump all over the place. If I tilt the board fully one direction I get about 16000 countsand fully the other direction I get about -16000 counts, which seems to be about right.Still very noisy around the main reading.when it is flat on the table I get anywhere from +128 to - 128 counts. Counts change in increments of 16.Is this normal behavior? CheersNeddie

Posted on October 27, 2016 at 03:57I have modified the platform.h and platform.c to run on Raspberry Pi.  The i2c-tools show I can read the device, and the routine VL53L0X_DataInit() returns no error, so I can write to the device.  But I am getting a timeout error from the VL53L0X_get_info_from_device() routine.  Is there any place where a complete list of internal registers and what they do for the VL53L0X device exist?  The API seems really complicated for just having to flip a few bits on the I2C bus. Posted on September 26, 2016 at 12:14Hello Forum and ST support,I was wondering if the magnetic sensors of the LSM9DS1 are factory calibrated or not. At the moment, it looks to me as if they're not calibrated at all. My hard and soft iron calculation from measurement leads to extremely different results, despite all sensors are placed on the same PCB and in very similar environments.Could you verify for me if they're calibrated or not? If not, is there a possibility to get factory calibrated sensors, so that I'd have to run my measurements and calibration factors only once per PCB design and not for every single unit?Another question relates to that: Can you provide a tool that calculates the hard iron and soft iron compensation factors from measurements (CSV file)? As by now, I'm using a free tool I found somewhere in the internet, which works fine, but only calculates the hard iron offset. Another tool which is su

Posted on September 29, 2016 at 21:04When the force sensor is powered off the LSM is always on and the microcontroller is in sleep mode.  Sometimes the battery will drain to empty.  When powered back up the LSM gets hot although it still works.  We usually replace it and all is good.  It connects to the CPU via SPI, SCX/SDX are GND, CS_AUX and INT2 float. The LSM connections look good, no shorts.  I have one now that got hot.  I removed the battery and reinstalled it, power cycled and the LSM did not get hot and hasn't since then.  Is there something we should do, command wise, before entering power down?  Have you seen this before?Thanks,Tom

I do not use the ECG DB 15 connector, instead i make use of the RL,LA and RA leads in the board to connect the electrodes. I'm trying to get the heartbeats, as ECG signal waveform is not fully required for my project. currently i'm using only 3 electrodes(RL,LA,RA). Please help me with the settings through  which i can  get the heartbeats in the PC application (Eden application), which is provided with he evaluation board.I need to know the deafult settings of the board from which i can get heartbeats in eden application.

Posted on October 25, 2016 at 17:01We are using the LSM9DS0TR and here is what I am seeing� I have both CS-G and CS_XM tied t0 3.3V and SDDO_G/SAO_G and SDO_XM/SAO_XM tied to GND, this should give me the following I2C addresses (we are using I2C to access it) Linear Accel and Mag Sensor address of 3D/3C, and angular rate sensor address of D5/D4I can read from the angular rate sensor just fine, the transactions look normal and everything works so I know my code works.When I change my code to read from the Linear Accel (which is the feature we really need ) it doesn�t work.What I have found is that the repeated start is not being generated correctly (or at least that�s what it looks like) when reading from the linear accel, yet reading from the angular rate sensor, it looks perfect.  Why would this occur?  Is there some errata that I am missing?

VDD and VDDIO : 1.8 V We are facing issue in the temperature readings. Please find below for the steps for reading the temperature value . Sensor Initialization for Temperature : a. Initialization of the temperature sensor : TEMP_CFG_REG to 11b. CTRL_REG4 BDU bit set to 1Reading the temperature :  a. Reading the OUT_TEMP_L (0Ch), OUT_TEMP_H (0Dh)b. Convert the value of OUT_TEMP_H register content ( which is in 2s complement ) to decimal .b. Temperature Value  =  25C (Reference Temperature )  + ( Converted decimal value from above step .This value m
