I’m currently developing a vibration meter device and using the IIS3DWB accelerometer. I want to ensure that my acceleration data is as precise as possible. I’ve read that temperature can affect the accelerometer’s performance, so I’m looking for advice on how to compensate for temperature variations.

Hi, First of all, I'm not proficient with embedded C, but I would appreciate any input from you that I could feed to ChatGPT. I've been trying to have the codes generated, but they simply would not produce what I wanted. So I have a LIS3DH IMU connected to the ESP32 via I2C. I want to know if it is possible to have the ESP32 in deep sleep mode while waiting for the INT pins from the IMU to wake it up. INT1 should detect a shock of, say, 1.5 G-force, and INT2 for a tilt angle beyond a threshold. Since the ESP32 is asleep and not continuously polling the IMU, will this be possible? If so, can you provide hints on how to implement this?Secondly, I have connected an analog lux sensor to ADC3 of the IMU. I'm getting variations when probing it with a multimeter but it's not reflected on the raw ADC readings. I'm certain it's within the scale. Thank you very much.

I have a device which uses an accelerometer (LIS2DH12) to trigger a wake up upon movement. Now I have a few samples on my hand, where this wake-up does not work. The design, configuration, interrupt, etc of the parts work (as validated by other identical builds). The parts in question, I can also bring back to "normal" operation, by turning VDD off and back on. After such a hard reboot, everything works as it should (this further confirms that the parts on hand do not have an electronic/manufacturing defect). Hence, I could in principle schedule a periodic reboot of the accelerometer, but this defeats the idea of a wake-up interrupt. Is the LIS2DH12 supposed to be rebooted on a regular interval? When the parts are in the "stuck" state, I can communicate (read/write from/to the registers) with the accelerometer. I've been using the stm32f411e_discovery_gyroscope.c file provided by STM32Cube to interface with the sensor.I've managed to retrieve data from the sensor using the provided code snippet:BSP_GYRO_GetXYZ(Buffer2); Xval = Buffer2[0]; Yval = Buffer2[1]; Zval = Buffer2[2]; However, the output I'm getting seems to be raw data, and I'm not quite sure how to interpret it correctly. My understanding is that these values represent the raw sensor readings, but I'm unsure how to convert them into meaningful X, Y, and Z values.Could someone please provide guidance on how to properly interpret and convert these raw values into meaningful data? Hi there, I'm trying to program LSM6DSV80x to read sensor values in -500Hz for a certain period of time and send them for process (thus no realtime process, but need timestamps).  The sensor values include xl, hg_xl, gyro, and also Game rotation vector, gravity calculated by SFLP.  According to the use case, all values will be read through FIFO.  Mostly works well but I've come up with two questions.  - What timestamp means? Is it time of the latest FIFO entry,  or of the next FIFO entry, or irrelevant with other entries?- for game rotation vector, I got two consequtive entries having TAG=19 in FIFO everytime,  at the same timing.  Those two entries have completely different values. With the application note and the post in this forum, I understand the FIFO  entry for game rotation vector hold only x, y, z elements and w needs to be calculated at the host side.  For example (the order is, w - which I calcula

Hi, I am, working with LIS2DH12 and I want to detect some variations of Z axis.I don't need to detect accelerations just variations of its current positions over my threshold. My current configuration is the following. CTRL1 (0x20) -> 0x17CTRL2 (0x21) -> 0x00CTRL3 (0x22) -> 0x40CTRL4 (0x23) -> 0x00CTRL5 (0x24) -> 0x08CTRL6 (0x25) -> 0x00 INT1_CFG (0x30) -> 0x20INT1_THS (0x32) -> 0x30INT1_DUR (0x33) -> 0x3C   Other registers set as default. Hello,I am developing a custom application that uses your ISM330BX IMU. I am communicating with the IMU using I2C. I checked that I can commuicate correctly with it by requesting the ID in the WHO_AM_I register and everytihng seems to work fine.The end goal is to get the LPSF block to work and output data to the fifo where it's going to be read by the main MCU. So far I tried following the info in the datasheet and the application note AN6109, but with little success. Every time I try to read the TAG of the data in the FIFO, the IMU always returns 0x02.Please find below (and attached) the two functions I use to set up the IMU and read from the FIFO. I’m trying to read the 3-component “game rotation” quaternion out of the LSM6DSV80X’s FIFO, but every time I pop a FIFO record I get three half-precision floats [x,y,z] where x is always zero and y,z look plausible. When I read the same fusion engine registers directly (not via FIFO), I get a full four-component quaternion [w,x,y,z] where x is nonzero—as expected. Hello, I have a SensorTile.Box and I am playing with the "Expert View" mode on the ST BLE Sensor Classic app. I have created a useful custom application, which combines the output of different sensors on the board and transmits them over USB. When I save this application, a json file is created into the smartphone file system. I want to share this application with another user, but when I send her the file and she puts the file into the "Files->Internal Memory->Documents->SensorTile.box folder", she is not able to see any new app in the ST BLE Sensor Classic app. The only applications that can be seen on a device are the ones created on the same device. Is there any way to enable the share of the application profiles between different devices? Thanks, Francesco

I'm trying to compute a tilt-compensated heading, based on the method described in ST's application note DT0058.However, I'm running into a problem: the heading value changes significantly when the sensor is tilted, even when the actual orientation toward magnetic north doesn't change. Hi all,I need to integrate the driver for the iis2mdc magnetometer (Github: https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/stm32-iis2mdc/tree/main) into my own project for a custom board (with STM32H7A3 and i2c3).  The code from the driver requires an additional hardware driver so that the magnetometer can be read/written to. We've implemented an example program based on UM2220 using an lsm6dsox IMU sensor on an STM32U575 microcontroller. We're trying to use MotionFX for orientation calculation from 6 axis measurement, configured with accelerometer and gyro. The IMU sensor is configured to sample at 12.5Hz. Pitch and roll are extracted and printed to a terminalWhat we're seeing is that the output data is stable for a short period of time, however after an indeterminate period of time, pitch and roll become corrupted, spewing (seemingly) random data outWe'd really appreciate any assistance on why this may be happening! Hi,I have a i3g4250d sensor chip on our custom board with STM32G474 MCU.I have used the below driver github.com STMicroelectronics stm32-i3g4250dfor reading the sensor chip registers through SPI interfaceI am able to read "WHO_AM_I_ADDR" register without any issue that confirms my SPI interface is fine and communicating with sensor chip but when I read XYZ values I always get the same value irrespective of sensor position.My sensor init configurations areCTRL_REG1 = 0x3FCTRL_REG4 = 0x10When I read the STATUS_REG, the first read shows 0xFF and consecutive reads always shows 0x00What could be the problem.PS: I have a Accelero meter sensor chip lsm303agr on the same board configured with I2C interface which is working properly.Thank YouPrabhu M K

Hi,I'm working with the LIS2DW12 accelerometer in a low-power IoT application. The sensor is configured to wake the MCU via an interrupt on INT1, connected through a monostable multivibrator (Schmit trigger IC). The setup is designed so that a rising edge on INT1 triggers a reset of the MCU.Here’s the issue:When the MCU wakes from a previous interrupt (caused by actual motion), it starts reinitializing the LIS2DW12 — performing a soft reset and reconfiguring the registers into polling (standard) mode. Then, after some time in polling mode, if no motion is detected, the program switches the LIS2DW12 back into interrupt mode

Hi all, I have installed the LPS22HHTR on my custom circuit to communicate with a STM32F4x via I2C. I have pulled up the SCL (pin 2), SDA (pin 4), SA0 (pin 5), and CS (pin 6) lines to 3.3V via 4.7k resistors, grounded the two ground pins (8 and 9) and RES (pin 3). I have also provided a 100nF decoupling capacitor for the VDD and Vdd_IO pins and left INT_DRDY floating. My issue right now is that when i try to call on the device using its address (0b1011101 << 1) and the HAL_I2C_IsDeviceReady() function, I am not getting a response and a NACK is thrown (I2C_FLAG_ADDR = RESET and I2C_FLAG_AF = SET). I have double checked the configuration of the circuit several times and voltages at pins but I'm still not getting a response.  I would appreciate any help as to why this is happening or if I'm doing something wrong.

HiI am trying to run the STEVAL-IDP005V1-GUI.Current setup:STEVAL-IDP005V1-GUI - > STEVAL-IDP004V1->STEVAL-IDP005V1:I am unable to connect to the IDP004V1 dev kit from the GUI, the comms just gives an error suggesting to restart the GUI. I have tried re flashing the firmware with the 485 and USB binaries provided in en.stsw-io-link (https://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/products/embedded-software/evaluation-tool-software/stsw-io-link.html)I have tried both 485 and USB connections but it does not work. According the X-Nucleo documentation the I2C default addresses for LPS22HH are: BA and B8. But the C code for the sensor defines BA and B8.Using the STM32CubeIDE project generated by STM32CubeMX I am not able to read sensor ID.
