I get the code to calculate tilted information when HP filter is not enabled.(I have added in this post) . when filter not enabled , they multiply z axis with 100000 and divide the result by 1024 and calculate the angle. Posted on February 08, 2015 at 19:05hi,I've been looking for a way to estimate sound intensity using MEMS microphone for a very long time. I am using STM32F4DISCOVERY board with a MEMS microphone on it (it's MP45DT02). I wrote an application that receives sound using this this microphone, writes it into a buffer and converts it from PDM to PCM using library given by ST. So far it works very similar to a program given by ST - ''Audio playback and record''. Later I use fast fourier transform to get the signal spectrum.I need to estimate how the amplitude of the sound will be reflected on the spectrum's bars height. The datasheets are modest or even say nothing about it. How can I solve the problem?  #mp45dt02-mems-microphone-fourier

Posted on May 12, 2015 at 12:02Hi ,we are using LIS331DLH accelerometer for our application.I have some doubts regarding acceleration values. 1) I don't get any horizontal acceleration for below configuration.        Threshold: 500mg.         Interrupt 1 is enabled         INT1_CFG = 0X2A (XH, YH and ZH enabled)2) I get horizontal acceleration when i enable 6D direction movement. But it produce continuous interrupt for small movement with below configuration.         Threshold: 1000mg         Interrupt 1 is enabled         INT1_CFG = 0X6A (XH, YH and ZH enabled

Posted on May 04, 2015 at 13:27I came across your portfolio for MEMS-acceleration-sensors and the H3LIS331DL suits my needs for a new developed pcb-design.I came across the non-linearity column in the data-sheet and wondered whether I understand the information correctly.Does �2% non-linearity� mean that in Full Scale from -70 to 70 [g] (140g total) I could measure a difference of around 2.8g? e.g. The Device measures in between 7.2 and 12.8 [g] by an actual g-Force level of 10g.Thank you for your help! #h3lis331dl

My background is in Civil engineering, so I'm not too versed in electronics. To help evaluate the performance of the instrument, I need to know whether its 3-axis accelerometer (LSM303) is comprised of 3 separate single-axis accelerometers, or if the sensing is done with a single proof mass. It would be great to have a citeable source for this information also. Posted on May 02, 2015 at 20:28Seems there is a bug in the Linux installer for the MKI109V2 software package. Calling the 'unico' executable failed persistently with ''no permission'' error, even as root. Setting the 'x' flag for unico (chmod command) fixed the issue - the installer just omitted to make the executable 'executable'. System was a i386 Linux Mint 17 XFCE, which, as a Ubuntu derivative, is assumed to fall in the ''Debain-like OS'' class. #stsw-mki109l-unico-installer-bug

Is there any factory calibration for the temp sensor? How can I use the temp sensor to determine approximate ambient temperature?

The board itself didn't recognize 123v1 board (LSM330D) even after numerous trials so I decided to upgrade the firmware via DFuSe software. I obviously used the latest release of the dfu file, which is called ''eMotionV2_REF_4_0.dfu'' acquired from http://www.st.com/web/en/catalog/tools/PF261470 website. (The .zip package also contains Unico, Windows Drivers etc.) I started my device on DFU mode by pressing SW2 button, DfuSe recognized it as ''STM Device in DFU Mode'' everything was normal, dfu file downloaded well. When I tried to Verify, it says ''Matching not good, First difference at adress 0x080045c0''. And it no longer can boot up in normal mode. Also not recognized by Windows. Just in DFU mode if I p

I can't found the slave address for the INEMO module in the documentation Is the INEMO firmware already planned to communicate trough the I2C1 port or should i write my own firmware? Posted on April 12, 2015 at 21:12Hi, I have developed, printed and mounted a custom iNemo based board: I noticed a short circuit between Vcc and Gnd with my multimeter, so my question is: there is an hidden problem in my circuit (like a short circuit under the smd capacitor that I have placed between GND an VCC) or maybe there is a low resistance connection inside the iNemo chip? Posted on April 01, 2015 at 15:19I've got a LIS3DH interrupting on a threshold. I went by the example in CD00290365.pdf for a filtered example, operating on a >300mg threshold.My problem is when it interrupts. The int line is held low for one output-data-rate-length samples. So, about 700us for 1250Hz output, or 2.5ms for 400Hz, and so on. I've tried to clear the interrupt line by reading the INT_SRC register, by clearing and re-setting the INT1_CFG register (back to 0x2A for XYZ high ints) and also by reading the axis data registers. I've also tried reading the status registers to see if there's an overrun, which there wasn't.So am I stuck with a latched interrupt (I tried clearing the latch interrupts bit in CTRL_REG5 but no luck) for as long as the sample rate is set?I'd like to know if I can clear this interrupt down, and how.

Posted on October 16, 2013 at 18:02Hi, We have developed a product which uses the LIS331DLH accelerometer and are happy with the results so far. My issue concerns the self test output change which can be higher than stated in specifications. The datasheets indicates between 120 and 550 or 140 and 750 lsb depending on the axis. However, I have seen output changes above 1000 lsb. Can we still use the boards, does it mean that the component has been damaged during the assembly process? The measurements seem consistent otherwise when comparing with the gravity. Should we raise the level of the thresholds in our code, if so what level would be recommended? Thanks Marc

Posted on March 25, 2015 at 08:13VL6180X datasheet mentions only the dry reflow process can be applied to it because the vent hole on top of its package. if the vent hole is sealed of by some epoxy, will this cause some troubles for the sensor ? what is the purpose to open a vent hole on the module package ? Posted on March 24, 2015 at 15:13Hello, In both the datasheets of the LSM330DLC and LSM303DLHC, it is indicated that a factory calibration is performed and its results are stored in the device (both sensitivity and offset). Where are these registers? I have not been able to find them in the datasheets, whereas for the LSM330 (not DLC) datasheet, that contains the same paragraph about factory calibration as the two others, includes a reference about these registers, at addresses 10H, 11H, 12H for the offset. Posted on March 05, 2015 at 18:58we are using the LSM303DTR.  4 wire spi. we initialize CONFIG 1,CONFIG5 and CONFIG 7 only....assuming defaults on all others. on power up, we get the pitch and roll always returning 0x8008 (our gui displays this as -35.244ish deg for pitch and roll). This happens ''sometimes''... Other times, the device appears to operate normally..... I checked the amount of time before we actually write to the device on power up.. it appears the 3.3V is stable by the time we hit the SPI buss (~210mS)... We cant figure this out...... any clues suggestions??? when this happens we can still get the WHO_AM_I correctly... and reading back the config registers...they appear to be what we set them at.... Posted on March 23, 2015 at 23:28Why if the LSM303D a steady-state on a horizontal surface measures 0 g on the X-axis and 0 g on the Y-axis, whereas the Z-axis measures 1g = 1000mg?Direction of  Z detectable accelerations is upward (see pag. 8/52 DocID023312 Rev 2 DM00057547), this would imply that the Z-axis should measure -1g = -1000mg #lsm303d #z-axis #accelerations
