Posted on August 10, 2012 at 22:01I was reading through the documentation on these and saw the ''block data update'' feature, obviously useful because it's two 8-bit registers and it might be possible for the data to update between reads and thus not read a coherent 16-bit value.I am wondering if there's more specific data on this.  As written, this seems potentially dangerous and could make it worse, potentially making a situation where it guarantees all values will be a glitched combination of LSB and MSB from two samples.The problem is if somehow one sample is ever read without reading the other.  It seems like the master and peripheral would then be forever out of sync.  The master would read the MSB then the LSB, but due to a prior read of the LSB without a successful read to the MSB, the peripheral would see the MSB read and update the MSB/LSB there, then the master follows with a read of LSB and gets

Posted on August 07, 2012 at 14:38I work with the gyroscope LPR430AL. The pitch angle works fine, the roll angle results in some strange values... (if I turn the module of 90° in roll angle I measure the right value of 90°. When I come back to 0° I measure ca. -25° like an offset. I turn again the module to 90° and I measure just 65°, come back to 0° and I measure -50° and so on...)Any idea?Thank you!

With some technical support from Olimex, Windows 7 virtual com port driver is working. But the example uses very old version( v1.0) libraries. I want to use FreeRTOS for implementing my application. Posted on July 03, 2012 at 06:04i'm using the accelerometer in lsm330dl. but when i put the chip statically on the table, the xyz output i got from it is very strange,  for x, it's always between 0.2-0.45  for y, it's always around 1  for z, it's always around 16 why? i didn't enable any interrupt, is there something wrong with my register setting? #lsm330dl #accelerometer

When my motorbike don't move, the MCU goes to Standby mode and the motorbike run, LSM303DLM will wakeup the MCU. I use INT1 or DRDY pin of LSM303DLM. How can anybody help me ? Thanks, #gyro

So i get a response and values from the registers x (0h28,0h29) and y (0h2A,0h2b), but the register for the z accelerations (0h2C,0h2D) is always zero. Any ideas? Windows doesn't recognize device on COM port.Any suggestions?

Posted on May 24, 2012 at 14:47Hi there,I'm using an L3G4200D sensor for calculating the angle displacementwith the code below. However from the computation I get half of the real rotationthe sensor make, that is, if I rotate it of 90 degree, I measure a 45 degree rotation.The output data rate is set a 100hz, resolution is 250dps and the BW is set at 12,5Hz.I realized that I might loose some samples (I don't use interrupts), but that should not be a problem when rotating at constant speed,as I always calculate the delta from the last sample.Any suggestion would be appreciated. http://geneva.servebeer.com/redmine/projects/opencortex-m/repository/revisions/master

Posted on April 06, 2012 at 09:35I don't understand why AHRS updated only at 50Hz when STM32F103xx can work at 72MHz.I want to reprogram iNEMO v2 board to change the AHRS update rate to 200Hz. What limits STM32 to update AHRS at only 50Hz.I'm working on designing a AHRS board based on STM32, if STM32 can't update more than 150Hz, i want to drop working on STM32.Thanks. #inemo #ekf-update-rate

ST says,Note: J4 does not offer any transceiver; it is directly connected to the microcontroller pins. As this prevents any overload/over-voltage on these pins.Moreover, J4 connector also provides a 3.3 V pin which can be used to supply a RS232 transceiver. Sinking too much current from this pin could damage the board.I want to connect J4 of iNEMO to the UART bluetooth module for wireless connection to PC.I have Bluetooth Mate Gold from http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9358  which has the following electrical connection for Arduino based AHRS module

Posted on March 26, 2012 at 19:50Not sure where to post questions on the LSM303DLM, so I posted here. I am currently using a LSM303DLM in my product and I have wrote libraries to read and calculation the x,y,z axis acceleration and the x,y,z magnetometer. Right now the accelerometer data is working correctly for measure tilt, however the magnetometer data is not calculating correctly for the ecompass. I was wondering if anyone has the some insight into this and could help me out. Also if someone has some raw data and can show me the calculations through the steps to calculate the proper compass heading it may help me find what I am doing wrong. I have read the app notes and tried to implement it, but something is not working right. Any help right now it appreciated! Thanks in advance! Dave

Posted on January 27, 2012 at 00:59Has anyone successfully compiled any of the iNemo/DFU code?  If so, how did you do it?I've tried Atollic/eclipse, which wouldn't work because there's no project file and I couldn't seem to resolve the dependencies and incompatibilities with the standard library.I also tried IAR 6.30, which wouldn't work due to CMSIS version incompatibilities, which nobody I've seen can seem to resolve.So what gives?  How the heck am I supposed to do anything with this code?  Why aren't any of the supposedly ''supported'' toolchains actually supported?

Posted on January 26, 2012 at 23:23I can't get DFU or iNemo firmware code to compile with Atollic.The code seems to be a mess with changes to the standard libraries, etc..  Please create a project file for Atollic, or tune up the code so it will compile on anything other than IAR, or help me with some instructions on how to accomplish this.Please provide some support for Atollic/eclipse, otherwise you're shutting out ALL linux developers.  #atollic
