I will need to handle dynamic memory using malloc and free. Looking on FreeRTOS documentation, I found pvPortMalloc(size) and vPortFree(ptr) , pvPortMalloc(size) works fine. When try to release memory using vPortFree(ptr) inside a Thread, the code hangs on that call.I'm using heap_4 for CMSIS-RTOS on TrueStudio.

How does Atollic TrueSTUDIO handle debug events generated by breakpoints and watchpoints that have been set up in the code (haven't been set up by the debugger)?

Hi,I am going to use internal osc for generating a frequency of signal 36khz. Do i need any external circuitry for it ..?For selection of 8Mhz frequency as clock can it be done in cube mx only and generate a source code form there...?Selection of prescaler for 8MHZ frequency to get signal of 36khz.

I am writing to the address of eeprom which is 6kb in size for stm32l072, but I am only able to write at specific locations like, 0x08080000,0x08080004,0x08080008,0x08080010,0x08080014,0x08080018,0x08080020,..... and it conitunes like this.

The reason why I want to know this is the following:We used AN3969 to create a EEPROM emulator in flash on an STMF407. After 1 to 4 years, we saw that on a minority of appliances (less than 0.5%) the emulated EEPROM was erased and the data written to it was gone. We are sure there was data in EEPROM.Data is only written to EEPROM when preparing the boards. In the field, nothing is written to EEPROM. So it is unlikely the emulated EEPROM is getting corrupted by writing data to it.When investigating the code, I saw that each time the EEPROM layer from AN3969 is initialized, it will erase the unused page. It is possible the board resets multiple times on a day and only the first page is used by our software. This means the second page is always erased when the init function

Hi all,Just wondered if anyone had a similar experience with this. Currently i'm storing a devices current state and settings in the EEPROM. This information is accessed and updated at a high frequency during a part of the program. I have experienced the data becoming corrupted if I create a high number of interrupts at the same time. The interrupt route is quick, it's just setting a flag and does not have an effect on the data I'm writing to the EEPROM. Is there anyway to 'protect' the EEPROM while I'm writing to it? Any good practises to be had? It's not the end of the world it just requires the user to set the device up again and I have not experienced it happening very often but it would be nice to get rid of the problem entirely. Thanks

I`ve created a project in STM32CubeMX (the latest version available), where I`ve set up clocks, enabled USB_FS_Device and USB CDC middleware. All the settings remained default, except for VBUS sensing, which was disabled.After this, I`ve generated code for Atollic studio, compiled and run in without making any changes to code. When I plug my device into PC (Windows 10 Pro x64 with latest updates), device configures and enumerates correctly, no errors was reported, and COM4 port is assigned to device. However, if I try to open this port with any terminal software (like Putty or RealTerm), they are reporting connection error ('the parameter is incorrect' in RealTerm`s case). On the device side, in this moment hUsbDeviceFS.dev_state is equal to USBD_STATE_CONFIGURED, and if I try to call CDC_Transmit_FS, then i

I'm working with the STM32L152RE, which has dual flash banks. Each bank has a binary file image loaded. I'm trying to start the debugger in Bank 1 (0x08000000), have it stop at main() (or some specific address) and debug in assembly. I haven't been able to get the debugger to stop at a known address. I also notice it ends up in Bank 2, which may or may not be from my startup code. Any ideas on how to have the debugger connect, reset and stop? Thanks.

Hello everybody,I need a counter with high Tacktfrequenz (eg 1 MHz) in Simulink. This allows me to turn a PIN on / off with the help of STM32 Nucleo board in μs range. In the lower model, I want to switch off the pin for 20 μs and then turn it on. The process repeats itself as you see by the counter. In order to reach the clock frequency of 1 MHz, the sample time of the free running Counter was set to 0.0000001. which slow and kill the calculation time. So to my question If I let this model run on the STM32 with External Mode in Simulink, would the pin really switched off for 20 μs? Unfortunately in Nucleo Support Package there are no timers and if so then I can not access the value in Simulink. I'm trying to debug a 429 FreeRTOS app using LwIP, which periodically has a huge (1.5 second) delay whilst trying to pump out messages. Using Atollic 9.1.0, Segger debug code on Nucleo-429ZI board. Hi everyone,I recently read a lot of articles on the subject of SWD, SWO, and using SWV for debugging purposes. I configured my TrueSTUDIO project as stated by the article[1][2], however I have the following problem:When I send strings over SWD by re-implementing "_write" over printf[2], the SWV Viewer console sometimes corrupts the message, and sometimes fails to receive it.However, when I use the ST-LINK Utility to read the SWV output, I notice that everything is transmitted perfectly, with no glitch characters, and no dropped strings.Unfortunately I am not sure as to what could be misconfigured, or the problem. To minimalize migration from a current working atmel design to a new stm32 design, i desire to create a abstraction function in atollic true studio. Currently, it seems that when generating the project via cube, the MX_GPIO_Init function uses each code block for each output, which is not very efficient to me. Hello, I am programming a SMT32 chip and I am trying to find the size of a defined structure like the code snippet below. From reading online, using sizeof() on a structure can yield different results on different IDEs. When I use sizeof(struct some_struct) in Atollic TrueSTUDIO, I get an error. Hi all,I have a project at Keil µVision using STM32F407VG board (it is created using cubeMX). I would export it as a plateformIO Atom project. The issue is that when generating the code in cubeMX I haven't the IDE platformIO. So I try to create a project under platformIO and I add the genrated code by cubeMX, but this did not work!! So, can anyone help me or direct me a good tutorial for it, please.

On my Mac, I just now upgraded to STM32CubeMX 4.26.1 which generates code with a file Src/syscalls.c. Nearly every function there (_close, _exit, _isatty, _kill, ...) show up in the "Problems" view of my Ac6 SystemWorkbench (aka SW4STM32). If I delete syscalls.c, the build seems to finish.Interestingly, before I upgraded CubeMX, a syscalls.c file was never even generated.I don't know much at all about the need or purpose for a syscalls.c file. I can't imagine that it's intended that I delete the file (and it certainly would be tedious to remember to delete it, since it must be there for a reason).However, why was it never there before, with the previous version of STM32CubeMX?I'm a bit reluctant to continue developing until I understand how to fix this.
