The datasheet shows an n-channel mosfet between the IN_HV and L_HV pins of the SPV1050, but it seems to make more sense if this was a p-channel mosfet. For one thing, I don't think it is guaranteed that the chip will have a high enough voltage source to turn on a high-side mosfet, given that the voltage on L_HV is allowed to go up to 20.3V. Also, the mosfet between STORE and IN_LV is a p-channel, so why not this one?

I'm currently working in a project where I need to control the intensity of 24 high power LEDs in 5 levels. I'm planning to use LumiLeds L1CU-BLU1000000000 (https://www.lumileds.com/uploads/705/PB198-pdf) where the cut-off voltage is 2.83 volts and current is 350mA. As per the requirements, the power supply should be from an SMPS ( maximum output - 12v,6A).I need to select a constant current driver with PWM facility ( 0-5v max ) to control the LED intensity from a micro-controller. What type of driver IC will be best suit for this application?What I know so far is:I can use a constant current boost converter IC with PWM ( input-12v,3A max and output 23v,1.3A) and connect 8 leds in series and 3 such strips in parallel so that each parallel branch would get around 350mA and each LED in the strip would get around 2.8V. In this case I need only one PWM channel from micro-controller to dim all LEDs at a time. If someone could suggest a driver IC for this specification it would be great

Hi,I'm using L6482 Stepper motor driver and I'm capturing BEMF spikes that can be up to +/-17V above VS and GND.It been measure at the OUT1A to GND.Is it acceptable? It is not clear in datasheet.Also I don't see any protection devices requirement such clamping diodes (VS, GND)I saw in L6480 a specific mechanism to reduce the BEMF, any suggestion for L6482.Thanks,Eli

Hello, I would like to recharge a lead battery (6V - 4500mAh) by using two different sources : a solar pannel and/or a micro USB input. The device needs to run in UPS mode (uninterruptible power supply). Do you know if ST proposes some IC that could fit my needs ? Hello, I developed by the past some FOC controllers with the STM32 PMSM FOC Firmware Library v3.0.For the phase current measurement, I used isolated current sensor (section 4.3 of STM32 PMSM MC Library v3.0 User manual.pdf).For a new design, I thinking about remove the isolated current sensor, and measure phase current with the Vds voltage across low side mosfets during ON State. I know it's possible because I seen some controller doing this way (and they use STM32). I think this technique for current measurement is similar to the 3 shunts topology explained in the section 4.1 of STM32 PMSM MC Library v3.0 User manual.pdf ?Do you think I can use the software library as is, just by configuring it in the 3 shunts topology ?Regards,Cyril

Hi im struggling with a circuit im designing, im trying to run 3x 24V indicators using a Viper12 circuit. Ive set the circuit up as below:The idea is that the pre circuit introduces the Zeners at 650V, offsetting the input to the Viper circuit by 400V however, when this happens the Zeners get incredibly hot but I cant see how. The Viper half is pretty standard to the application notes.Could anyone help?Thanks

Hi Friends,I have designed a circuit using LED2000DR for a project. I given 5V input to the circuit and i got 5V same as given in the input. The circuit i designed for 1.4 Amps But i got the 0.3Amps only. I am confused that why the current is low. But led works and voltage is 5V. That's ok. I changed the current sense resistor and also the MCU but no use nothing changed. Anyone faced similar issues like this. I am totally stuck with this issue. Anyone help me to solve the issue and attain the desired output.I just followed the circuit that taken from the "st design suite". Any help will be appreciated.Thanks

HiI got the above board and am trying to understand the current sensing in 3 shunt resistor topology.There seem to be a bunch of C files just for F3xx alone, but only single files for F4xx.
