Hello,I’m working on a motor control application using STM32 and configuring the project with MC Workbench.After generating the project, I manually customize the CubeMX (.ioc) file to adapt it to my hardware (e.g., adding peripherals, changing pin assignments, etc.).However, every time I regenerate the project from MC Workbench, my CubeMX modifications are overwritten, and I have to redo them manually.:backhand_index_pointing_right: My question:Is there a recommended way to:preserve custom CubeMX changes after regenerating from MC Workbench?or integrate these adjustments directly into MC Workbench so they are included during generation?Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello. I am trying to develop a BLDC motor driver. With Workbench, I can easily change the motor parameter. But whenever I change the motor, I should reconfigure and re-compile. So I would like to make a FW can change motor parameter dynamically. Is it possible with MCSDK? Thank you in advance. 

Hello Everybody,Here are the software and boards in this case:1. MC workbench 6.4.12. STM32 FW V1.28.2I’m using the generated code from ST MCSDK and noticed an issue on the microcontroller’s U-phase and V-phase channels (see pins Ch. U and Ch. V in picture 1; the same happens on W-phase, but I didn’t capture that waveform).The blue waveform never completes its falling edge where it should go low, so the whole period looks like a constant high (see picture 2).Is this behavior normal? If not, how can I fix it? Could it be related to the duty-cycle settings of PWM?My gate-driver chip already provides hardware dead-time, so I set the software dead-time to 0; the motor still spins.Thank you!

I am working on a 3ph motor control with EVSPIN32G4. I want to know how to measure motor speed through GPIO (To match with the measured quantities in motor pilot). Where can i find the details of that? 

I have multiple issues while driving the vehicle with the MCSDK software running. It is custom hardware MCSDK6.4.0Hall sensor based.1. Every time i start the vehicle at the beginning it jerks and then picks up, the behavior is not predictable, but jerking is always there some times more, less and hall fault etc. Now i have tested again on the bench and captured the waveform of the phase currentsThe first few steps before the sinusoidal phase currents is problematic, so if i count i get 3 jerks before the motor started running. Hello,I am working with Motor Control Workbench 6.4.1 for a project using Nucleo-G431Rb X-NUCLEO IHM08M1 and a PMSM motor. The position feedback is given by a motor resolver.I read sin e cos values and calc the rotor position correctly.If I generate a sensorless firmware all work but the issue is that I cannot find the option for a resolver in the Motor Control Workbench, only Hall sensors or Quadrature Encoder. Is there any way to go past this restriction for this use case, either through hardware or software ?Any assistance is much appreciated.Thank you

Hello ST Team,I'm encountering an overvoltage fault when decelerating a motor from high speeds. My system uses an STM32 F401RE microcontroller with an IHM16M1 driver board, controlled via Field-Oriented Control (FOC).The motor operates normally at high RPMs, but when I command a speed reduction, the system immediately triggers an overvoltage fault, indicated as an "ACK Fault" in the Motor Pilot interface. We've already tried troubleshooting the overvoltage fault on our motor controller by:Increasing the voltage range in the bus voltage sensing section.Following the recommended steps for overvoltage fault resolution outlined in the user manual.Despite these efforts, the issue is still happening.

Hi all.I'm brand new to the STM32 so please excuse my lack of knowledge.I'm looking into this microcontroller as I have 'found' a Motor Control Nucleo Pack (or at least its contents) left unused by a former colleague, I'd like to try and get it working as a lead in to using the STM32, I've previously used Arduino and want to see if this has advantages.I have the STM32 and IHM07M1 motor control board from the pack along with the motor but I don't have any instruction manual or software files, I don't even know what it should have come with.I have loaded and installed the IDE, MX and Prog today (11-Oct-2025) and instlled the latest L4 files V1.18.1.  Plugged in the STM32 board and see the power light initiallyi illuminate red then change to green.  I also get an E:\ drive on my computer with 3 small files (DETAILS.TXT, FAIL.TXT & MBED.HTM).With the IDE open I don't see any comm's with the board but then I don't know whether I should or

 Hi!I disassembled a BLDC motor from a popular hammer drill.It has two pairs of windings and three PCBs:- a main rectifier with a simple 16V voltage converter;- a set of six IGBTs and one 5mΩ shunt resistor;- a regulator with several drivers, operational amplifiers, and a microcontroller. It also has built-in HAL circuits.I scrapped the last PCB and made my own driver and measurement circuit, copying the originals, but I used an STM32G431 for control and acquisition. The goal is to achieve stable and reliable torque in this machine.The use of a single shunt resistor forced me to use a single-resistor circuit; I also copied and used the HAL circuits. I generated the code using MCSDK v6.4.0 in FOC mode. The PWM operates at 5 kHz—the same as in the original. I spent some time tuning the parameters, but now it works well. The rotation is stable in both directions, and MotorPilot allowed me to adjust the rotation accordingly. H

Good morningI am  developing a three-phase motors drive board using the X-CUBE-MCSDK STM32 Motor Control Software Development Kit tool.In addition to the available control modes that we can utilize, we need to control a synchronous motor with a resolver and an induction motor with an incremental quadrature encoder.The currently available version (V.6.4.1) does not support the use of a sine-cosine resolver, a sensor widely used in PMSM synchronous motors, and induction motor control (available in version 5 of MCSDK) is not yet available in version 6.Can I know if these modes will be implemented in future developments of the tool? Many thanks

I want to add a custom motor under "New_Project" in MC Workbench. As soon as i am clonign previous motors, i am not able to edit it and the edit window is getting closed automatically.Please suggest me what i should do.

I'm using EVSPIN32G06Q2S1 board.PB0 is a DAC emulator controlled by PWM duty.But it’s always disabled. How can I enable it? 

Hallo motor control experts,I’m trying to get a B-G431B-ESC1 board running on an e-bike motor using the ST MCSDK 6.4.0. The motor spins with the Motor Profiler FW (B-G431B-ESC1#B-G431B-ESC1 3Sh#(6.1.2).hex) in the profiling phase, but the MCSDK project generated from those parameters won’t get the motor to turn. Hardware setup, power supply and so on ist exectly the same, so it must be a firmware problem. I’ve tried it both sensorless and with the encoder—same result.Is there any information which parameters the Motor Profiler FW uses?How it is posible, that the Motor Profiler FW get's the motor to run without knowing the motorparameter and the MCSDK project with the exact motor parameters does not run?Thank you!    

Hello,I am using the B-G431B-ESC1 board with a fresh installation of X-CUBE-MCSDK-6 (v6.4.1).I want to use the Motor Profiler, but I am facing a problem:1. The precompiled profiler firmware (.bin/.hex file) for B-G431B-ESC1 is not included in the 'Utilities' folder. I understand this may be by design in newer SDKs.2. However, when I create a "New Project" in MC Workbench and select the B-G431B-ESC1 board, the option to create a "Motor Profiler" firmware does not appear. Only the "FOC" option is available.Because of this, I am completely stuck and cannot run the Motor Profiler.Could you please advise on the correct procedure to get the profiler firmware for the B-G431B-ESC1 on MCSDK 6.4.1?Thank you.

I am working on a project to drive a door using a PMSM motor in position control mode.I've encountered a problem I can't solve. As an exercise, I have written a 2-phase induction motor control program using high-level program elements (HAL).  I used a Nucleo-G071, though I'm sure nearly any STM32 family device will work.  Since 2-phase algorithms are not common cookbook items, I started from scratch.  The desired end state is the use of center-aligned PWM using burst-mode DMA and a 3-wire interface.  I encountered problems with asymmetry in the pulse positions of the 3 outputs.  After much coding and experimentation with logic analyzers and oscilloscopes, I came up with a method that yields a clean uniform output.  I used VS Code and GitHub Copilot during the development.  After finishing, I asked GitHub Copilot to summarize the problems and solutions.  Perhaps this may be useful to those who are undertaking similar work.  I am attaching that summary here: # Solving Center-Aligned PWM Asymmetry in STM32 DMA Burst Mode Applications**A
