Hi We are using a custom STM32U5G7-based board to drive a BLDC motor using STSPIN230 with Hall sensor feedback. The Hall sensor inputs are handled through interrupts, and motor commutation is performed based on these events. The motor operates smoothly when the HCLK is configured to 80 MHz (HSI with PLL). However, when the HCLK is reduced to 8 MHz (HSI), the motor no longer rotates smoothly, despite the PWM timer frequency being maintained at 50 kHz in both cases. We would appreciate any insights into potential causes for this issue.

Hi, I'm using a B-G431B-ESC1 to control a drone motor. My motor draw around 300W at maximum power. I have done a FOC firmware with Motor Workbench and it works very good with the load (propeller). I use sensor less speed feedback.But when I remove the propeller and try to control the motor, it start to turn and after around one second, it do a very bad noise and stop with a speed feedback error. The read speed is around 7000rpm, but in fack it was around 250rpm.When I have the propeller the sensor less speed sensing is very precise.Do you have some ideas to help me ? Thanks :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I'm working on a Motor Control Project built with MCSDK(6.3.1).After initial creation of the CubeMX ioc File by the MC-Workbench, a lot of additional configuration were manually made using CubeMX (~30 additional pins and their config, additional timers, etc.).Then the Source Code was generated.But when i now need to change parameters/configuration in the MC-Workbench and re-generate the ioc File, all the previously manually added config is lost and must be redone again which is a lot of work and prone to errors which are hard to detect. Is this the intended workflow? I am trying to control a 24V PMSM type motor using ST Motor Control Workbench version 6.3.1 with the FOC. I use the position control method as the control method. Tuning PID parameter is given in AN5464.Although i tried to tune the PID parameters manually in accordance with demonstration code given in AN5464, par. 5.8, motor starting to oscillate when i try to rotate motor in multi-turn (for example 4-turn, 8 * PI radian). So i am trying to use a software tool like STM32CubeMonitor in order to tune PID parameters.I have the following questions:Is there any application note/document which describes PID parameter tuning using STM32CubeMonitor? If yes, can you share with me?If the answer of first question is no, which variables/structure elements should be paid most attention in STM32CubeMonitor for a good PID tuning? Hi ST team,I am using STM32G474RE+IHM08M1 NUCLEO board with FOC library with HALL feedback.Please find the ST Motor Pilot software tool snapshot after interfacing. for your reference. We have profiled the motor using motor profiler software and used the same motor profiler output to configure the project using ST motor control workbench. Observation:Image2, I have a problem with producing initial Torq on motor coils, as seen from the image attached below I found Torq reference is set to 8A but measured value ranged from +1A to -1A, which is way below the reference value. When I turn the wheel(external force), wheel is automatically picking the reference Torq at that point. I have tried tweaking the Iq and  These are my questions: 1. What are the common causes of the Startup torq issues in a motor controllers(HALL +FOC)?2. How to tune Iq and Id loops to find the right parameters of Kp and KI?&nbsp

Hello,I am using a EVSPIN32G4-DUAL board to drive a 48V BLDC motor and using an encoder for speed feedback.After a week of troubleshooting I was able to determine why my motor project could not achieve speeds above 700 RPM. The board has RC lowpass filters on the encoder / Hall sensor lines. The capacitor is oversized (1nF) and gives a lowpass cutoff frequency of about 16kHz. For comparison, my encoder with 2500 pulses per revolution spinning at 700 RPM yields about 29kHz. So at and above 700 RPM the encoder signal was becoming attenuated by the filter and could not be detected by the microcontroller.I was able to solve this by removing the 1nF capacitors and replacing them with 12pF.For example, the STEVAL-CTM015A1 uses 1.8K resistors and 10pF capacitors for the same purpose. So, it would be helpful if someone at ST could update the documentation or software to provide a warning when using this board and encoders at high speeds.

Downloaded the STM32Cube Motor Control SDK and installed the app which came up as ``Motor Pilot 6.3.2`.I connected the STM32 MCU board (B-G473E-ZEST1S) via USB to my desktop.When I launch the program it looks like this:It shows that there is ``No Connection`` to the board and the only option is for a UART on com3 or com4. When I try com3 and press Connect, the program closes.Any help would be greatly appreciated!BarryTedco Electric   

1) There is no availability of the X-NUCLEO-IHM09M1 at Mouser or Digikey. Both vendors do, however, have stock of the X-NUCLEO-IHM09M2. Has the M1 been discontinued? Please let me know if there is any difference between the M1 and the M2.2) If it turns out that the M2 replaces the M1, does SB26 still need to be removed? It’s going to be very difficult to remove SB26 without damaging the board due to its tiny size and awkward location.3) I also need the specs and part number on the 34 pin ribbon cable that interfaces the B-G473E-ZEST1S controller board to the STEVAL-IPM30B evaluation board.

I am working on a BLDC motor control project using ST MCSDK Workbench 5.4.7. The motor has 15 pole pairs.When I configure the system to use a quadrature encoder, I can rotate the motor and successfully control its speed in both directions using the Workbench. However, when I switch to Hall effect sensors (HALL _H1, HALL_ H2, HALL_ H3), I can still rotate the motor in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions, but speed control does not work. The motor spins at a constant speed, and changing the speed setpoint in the Workbench has no effect. Kindly help me in this. 1.What would be causing the speed control to fail when using hall sensor?2.Are there specific settings or configurations in MCSDK workbench for Hall sensors that might be affecting speed regulation? 

How to Generate a 3-Phase SPWM Signal Using Only TIM1 on STM32G031K8 or STM32G071RBT6?   I’m trying to generate a 120-degree phase-shifted 3-phase SPWM signal using only TIM1 on either an STM32G031K8 or STM32G071RBT6. My goal is to drive an FSBB30CH60C IPM module with complementary SPWM signals to control a 3-phase asynchronous motor, similar to a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive).   Has anyone done this before? Any tips, example code, or best practices would be greatly appreciated!
