STM32 MCUs TouchGFX and GUI

Hello,I have a few questions regarding image and audio formats on STM32U5.For graphics with TouchGFX, I see that PNG is usually used. However, in some MCU documentation it is recommended to use JPEG. Also, when I try to add a JPEG image directly in TouchGFX Designer, it does not work.Which format is preferable between PNG and JPEG for TouchGFX?Why is JPEG recommended in some MCU documentation?Is JPEG intended only for dynamic loading with software or hardware decoding?What is the recommended way to use JPEG images with TouchGFX, if possible?Regarding audio on STM32U5, which audio format is recommended such as WAV, MP3, AAC or other?Is there a specific library recommended for audio playback on STM32U5?Is there an optimized solution provided by ST?Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi,I am at the beginner/beginning stages trying to pick up STM32 ecosystem involving touchGFX and a display board STM32H7S78-DK. For now I would like to interact a touch button on screen to turn on an LED.Could I get guidance on the overall workflow if it is correct:1) touchGFX - generate UI and generate code2) open up STM32CubeIDE and import touchGFX generated .cprojects and other supporting files3) edit .ioc file to set LED pin (PO1) as output (active-low). save and generate code4) stm32CubeIDE -> build and run -> LED PO1 turns on but my display goes blankover at touchGFX when I try to regenerate code it states [generate code failure] Could I get some guidance thanks. 

Hello,TouchGFX seems to have some sort of a “bug”, where in PORTRAIT orientation the text will glitch with some weird white lines, unless there is an image in the item-tree situated ABOVE text items. It doesn’t have to be any image in particular, but MUST be an image.If there isn't any image added, then every text element is glitched the moment I rotate to PORTRAIT:touchgfx::HAL::getInstance()->setDisplayOrientation(isPortrait ? touchgfx::ORIENTATION_PORTRAIT : touchgfx::ORIENTATION_LANDSCAPE);The glitched text looks as such (see the white weird lines corrupting the text):

I am using a custom PCB design with a 480x800 pixel RGB input LCD display. I am driving the display via the LTDC peripheral. When I change the default colors, the color on the screen changes accordingly, which indicates that there is no apparent hardware issue with driving the LCD.However, when I try to display a simple text on the screen using TouchGFX, the system enters the DMA2D_XferErrorCallback function due to a DMA2D error. Because of this, the text cannot be rendered on the display.Could you please explain the possible reasons for this DMA2D transfer error and what might be causing it? best regardsCelil Bayrakdar

There have been great improvements to TouchGFX  Designer and the build process.  It now cleanly allows integration into the STM32CubeIDE project structure.  The problem is that even though you can provide a project name and the output will be placed in a folder with that name, the .IOC file always has the same name as every other project made with the same device.  My workflow from the Designer, to CubeMX to CubeIDE is painless.  Generate code, then allow CubeMX to open the project and it's imported into CubeIDE.  The first project is great.  If you go back to Designer and create a different project with the same device, the process breaks down.  You'll have the same project as the last project as far as CubeIDE is concerned.  Now if you create a new workspace for each project, you can get all of your projects imported albeit you have to switch workspaces.  You can at least name them, so you know what project you're working on.

I found I can not config ToucgGFX to APPmode.It's seems I have to config EXTEM Loader first.I tried many management,but still fail to use TouchGFX in APP.I wonder if there's other way to use GFX.By the way,I have to write the link files to fit in my HyperRam and Flash.Is there something to do with the"EXTEM Loader"and "EXTEM Manager"?Thanks a lot!

Hi,I'm using TouchGFX to make a simple screen with just one slider. This to prove my graphics work and i can use touch to move the slider.I started with a CubeMX project this time but i got stuck somewhere.I enabled DMA2D and touchGFX.I see the DMA2D IRQ's passing by and My frame buffers are swapping when i touch the screen.I see that I get calls to HAL_LTDC_LineEventCallback so I think hltdc is working as well.But i see that my images that should be drawn on my screen are not there. I see the global layout of the slider but it is not the correct image.Steps to reproduce:1) start a new TouchGFX 4.26.0 project2) disable all frameworks in config page3) Set a Box with a specific color (not black)4) Add a simple slider to the canvas5) run the simulator 

So I have a container with a single image in it. The container is used in a view and has the Mixins Draggable and MoveAnimator ON Now, I want to animate it from the current position (400,38) to 800,38 so, basically a slide animation. Hi All,I'm currently developing a project using an STM32N655. I'm using a 1024x600 px screen. The image format is ARGB8888. Naturally, my frame buffer takes up approximately 2.5 MB. I needed to reduce the size of the CMD list.My application doesn't have vector graphics or fonts. Can I reduce the size of the CMD list as much as I want? Will this affect performance?Also, it's not possible to double flash with internal RAM while running a screen of this size. However, would creating frames of different sizes affect the FPS? Hello, I'm using an STM32U5G7VJTx MCU with a 480x320 display, connected to the FMC in 16-bit mode, and everything works fine using the GPU2D. I'm not using an existing GUI framework.The pixel format used by the display is RGB565 (16bpp), so for gradients, I want to use dithering to soften the banding. I found this definition in the 'nema_graphics.h' file:#define NEMA_DITHER 0x80U /**< Nema Dithering */However, it seems undocumented. Hello community,I have this problem. I have a project with the STM32U575RGTx microcontroller.It includes also FreeRTOS (Version 1.3.1) and a TouchGFX project (Version 4.26.0).With this system configuration: Timebase Source TIM17 The TouchGFX project has screens that require more or less CPU, the problem that I have is that when one or other screen is selected the execution frequency of the FreeRTOS tasks and the HAL_TIM_PeriodElapsedCallback change their execution frequency, so I can not have a valid time reference to do other things in my firmware application. Has anyone faced the same problem? Much thanks in advance!

Hello, I made a lot of project with Touchgfx . I started a new project with  STM32U599ZI, IAR 9.60.3 , Touchgfx 4.26.1 , CubeMx 6.17.0 , STM32CubeU5 MCU package V1.8.0.  I created project from Cube, than I double clicked touchgfx file under TOUCHGFX folder.I created a dummy project with only a red box and I clicked generate code on TouchGFX as I always do. But when I open IAR project I cannot see TouchGFX folder on IAR workspace window  and when I try to build project, IAR gives a lot of erros about not founded Touchgfx files.  Touchgfx files and folders ara exist in my project folder but not in IAR workspace window.My colluage has same proglem with STM32L4R5A mcu . I tried rebuild all, clean project, creating project from CubeMX from zero, but I could not find a solution.Can you give any solution.

Hello @INaee.1 , I am working with the STM32H743BIT6 using the LTDC peripheral to drive an RGB display. The display I am using does not have HSYNC and VSYNC signals and operates only in DE (Data Enable) mode. I have attached the display datasheet and pin connection for reference. Based on the datasheet timing specifications, I configured the LTDC parameters accordingly. Since the display does not use HSYNC and VSYNC, I configured them as constant high signals (logic 1) and set the rest of the LTDC timing parameters as specified. I am currently using the STM32H735G-DK.​While white and red seem to display correctly, black(0x0000) appears as a dark purple when rendered. Even when displaying textures, there is a slight purple tint mixed in throughout the image.​I am writing to the framebuffer in RGB565 mode, and the LCD is reading directly from it. What could be causing this color distortion?

I have this Riverdi 7-inch display which has a STM32H757XIH6 micro controller.  And I am trying to use freertos to run a uart task when a button is tapped on the display.  I am running into an issue though with the button response.  So I created a virtual function and that works when I tap the button.  I created another freertos kernal and have a callback function names UART_Task.  I am trying to send a message via a queue to start a process when a button is tapped.  When the program runs the GUI displays, but when I tap the button it is unresponsive and does not seem to send the message.  I messed around with setting different times on the osDelay within the callback to give the GUI and other tasks time to initialize.  I also messed arou

I have an stm32h7s78-dk and I created a GUI with TouchGFX.  I am trying to transmit some data via UART when a button is pressed.  I have the virtual function triggering in my MainDisplay and I was trying to use FreeRTOS and Queues to communicate from the virtual function from the button press to the uart task that I created via STMCubeMX.  For some reason though, the screen stays black when I try to use an if(xQueueReceive(queueHandle, &message, 0) == pdPASS) { printf("Message received"); }in my uart task. Hello I have a STM32f469-discovery. I have trouble loading code/programming. I have successfully programmed the board via the Flowcode software. Also I can use the Hex or Bin generated file from Flowcode, import it in the STlink utility and load it on the board. That works. What I can't do is to open a demo or example for the touchGfx designer and program the board. Hi, I am trying to configure the X-NUCLEO-GFX02Z1 display expansion board with the NUCLEO-F767ZI board. The LCD controller used is ST7789, and the interface is configured via FMC.
