STM32 MCUs Wireless

Hey there,bringing my custom STM32WB board up, I encountered a problem with the RTC initialization. I recently updated CubeMX to 5.5.0 and I don't know, if my problem comes with the update, but with the older versions I didn't have these type of errors. Anyways, I set up the RTC, which at first only worked after a power down reset. Resetting per reset pin brought me trouble with the RTC_EnterInitMode() function. There was only a Timeout error. At first I thought of a hardware problem, but after reconsidering the example brought by the firmware, I saw major differences in the stm32wbxx_hal_msp.c file. I'm looking for an AppNote or example showing how to enter STOP2 mode with BLE advertising enabled (low consumption, but BLE advertising). And how to : on any BLE connection, exit from STOP2.

Hello everyone,I would like to use the Uart over BLE with the STM32WB55.I'm not very familiar with BLE, but as I understood for now, Uart over BLE is not a Bluetooth SIG standard, but people have been developing custom services for it.I couldn't find any example with the STM32WB55, does any have one with that?I'm a looking for what is called a GATT server ?Moreover, in STM32_WPAN middleware, I could find theses UUIDs. I'm testing the STM32CubeFunctionPack_BVLINKWB1_V1.1.0 and it works fine, but I want to hear the sound directly from a speaker connected to the STM32WB instead of using the PC for recording and then play audio.

hi. I do have problems in establishing an USB connection to my devices as soon as I run the UTIL_SEQ_Run( UTIL_SEQ_DEFAULT); function in the main while loop. The Computer does not recognize the device. When I disable this function USB Com Port works normal. I've already extended my heap size as suggested in: https://community.st.com/s/article/FAQ-USB-device-not-recognizedNow static allocation is used.Does anyone have suggestions what to check?thanksalex

Hi Sir:​I try to use BLEMesh_SetRemoteData(..) with Unicast Address from BLEMesh_GetAddress() for sending packets between two nodes, but the received node dosn't call the Vendor_WriteLocalDataCb(). ​Is there any suggestion for me to send the packets with manually fiiled payload between Mesh nodes ?Thanks,Jack​​​​

I am trying to execute ping pong experiment with B-L072Z-LRWAN1 discovery kit using STM32CubeIDE. I have used the codes which are available on stm32 website along with firmware . After bringing the project file in IDE problem window is showing error- program "gcc" not found in the path.also on building , consoles shows no error but the previous problem persist.On debugging the process terminates with message - binaries not foundalso there is no binaries file created in project explore window.I have tried this code with other IDE (like True studio, eclipse ) but getting same error.please suggest why this is happening and how to rectify that.

I have two Nucleo packs for the STM32WB55 and the firmware kit STM32Cube_FW_WB_V1.4.0.Using STM32CubeIDE Version: 1.2.0And I would like to build the projects P-NUCLEO-WB55.Nucleo\Applications\Zigbee\Zigbee_OnOff_Client_RouterP-NUCLEO-WB55.Nucleo\Applications\Zigbee\Zigbee_OnOff_Server_CoordBut I just can't understand how they are supposed to be imported into STM32CubeIDE and compiled successfully. Other projects such as P-NUCLEO-WB55.Nucleo\Applications\BLE\BLE_p2pServerfeel more "complete". Those I can import and build successfully.Could you please describe how to build the zigbee projects?

I set the dutycycle to 10 s :#define APP_TX_DUTYCYCLE 10000But when i run the program i get this :I join the network at first emission. Then i got two emissions at 150 s and 320 s and finally it becomes periodic but with a period of 50 s not 10 s.It looks like the MCU is waking up every 10 s but it doesn't send data every time. What is the problem and is there a way to fix it?

HiI have a WB Nucleo and a WB dongle running the STM32WB Cube CLI thread example code for both. Both are flashed with the latest thread binaries.If I run either two nucleo boards or two dongle boards together I can connect the two with the CLI example no problem.But if I try to connect a nucleo board to a dongle board, each board creates its own thread network and becomes the leader of that network. Note that I am running the correct example for both and I have retried this setup on different channels.Is there some configuration / hardware difference between the two that I am missing?Thanks for any help.

I recently got my new prototypes based on the STM32WBCG. I selected boot1 mode and ran the FUS update and the BLE stack installer:STM32_Programmer_CLI.exe -c port=usb1 -fwdelete STM32_Programmer_CLI.exe -c port=usb1 -fwupgrade .\STM32WB_Copro_Wireless_Binaries\stm32wb5x_FUS_fw.bin 0x080EC000 firstinstall=0 STM32_Programmer_CLI.exe -c port=usb1 -fwupgrade .\STM32WB_Copro_Wireless_Binaries\stm32wb5x_BLE_Stack_fw.bin 0x080CB000 firstinstall=1Afterwards, I connected the SWD debugger and installed my application. The application crashed after APPE_Init(); So I checked again the binaries and reinstalled them. It still didn't work. So I tried to flash the BLE_TransparentMode_reference.hex from STM32Cube_FW_WB_V1.4.0 and reconnected it to my PC. Et voilà! It worked!Afterwards I flased my application as I did before and suddently it worked. I had to flash the reference.hex to all my prototypes and then flash my application to make them able

Hi, Ive read the application note AN5247 "Over-the-air application and wireless firmware update for STM32WB Series microcontrollers" and noticed that the firmware will be deleted before storing the update. Therefor if the update fails (for example ble device gets out of range) the device will be without any firmware!?Does the STM32WB support any dual bank firmware update or do you guys have another solution to not lose the running firmware before new firmware is stored? I am attempting to send Multicast Non-Confirmable coap messages to multiple boards, but am only receiving and handling the first response that comes in.This seems to be supported in the upstream implementation found at https://github.com/openthread/openthread/blob/master/src/core/coap/coap.cpp#L513.Can you please confirm whether your OpenThread implementation allows receiving multiple responses or if there is a problem with my implementation.

Is there any plans to support some sort of Transmission Complete Status after sending a UDP packet?I am noticing that packets are failing to transmit and silently dropped by the WB M0 with no notification passed up to the M4 that this has occurred.In the main OpenThread implementation, otUdpSend responds correctly once a packet has been sent or dropped, but I believe your implementation is onlyindicating the packet was successfully queued by the M0.I can see that packets have been dropped by the otMacCounters field mTxErrBusyChannel incrementing but as these count lower level IPv6 and 802.15.4 packetsI cannot reliably query this to detect a failed transmission.Having a reliable notification that a transmission was successful or failed will allow us to have more reliable communication between nodes.

Does STM32WB chip comes pre-programmed with DFU bootloader from factory?If not where I can find the compiled version of bootloader? (The available DFU bootloaders in STM32Cube files look different than system bootloader)

I have a P-NUCLEO-LRWAN3 toolkit and I would like to know how I can get the firmware&code for Lora GW which is runing on NUCLEO-F746ZG. The I-CUBE-LRWAN only contain that for Lora End Node which is running on NUCLEO-L073RZ.In the document DM00620948 I see the follow words "The gateway firmware binary is available upon request directly from STMicroelectronics.". So I would like to know if I can get the newest firmware(current I'm using "2.1.7, Nov 6 2018").What's more, is the source code of gateway firmware available to me? I want to add some extra logic on gateway. I'll be highly appreciate if you could provide the source(source with libraries is also accessable).Thank you!

I am using the software I-CubeLoRaWAN to create a class A end node from a STM32 and SX1272. Hi, i am using the BL072Z board and in the ADC examples with interrupts the HAL_GetTick() function doesn't works, it returns 0 , also in the examples of LoRa like the called "end_node" happens the same, now i have built a project with cubemx and HAL_GetTick() works but not as it use to works with other boards like the stm32f411 , in that board i did not need to put the HAL_GetTick() inside the while loop (because is fired by an interrupt) but in the BL072Z LoRa board is necessary to put that function inside the loop, why?

Hi, I'm fairly new to the STM32 world. I'm running CubeIDE 1.2.0 with a P-NUCLEO-WB55 board and stm32cube_fw_wb_v140.I am using the built-in task scheduler and I believe the IDE is generating invalid code. I am pretty sure the code in Core/Inc/app_conf.h shown in the first attachment "original.png" should actually read like the code in "corrected.png" (Ie the -1 should actually be a +1).Without the change the scheduler does not run my custom task. I first noticed this in CubeIDE 1.1.0 and stm32cube_fw_wb_v130. I have not checked for versions earlier than that.So for a quick fix I have to run this command in a shell after every code generation:sed -i 's/CFG_FIRST_TASK_ID_WITH_NO_HCICMD = CFG_LAST_TASK_ID_WITH_HCICMD - 1/CFG_FIRST_TASK_ID_WITH_NO_HCICMD = CFG_LAST_TASK_ID_WITH_HCICMD + 1/' $projectdir/Core/Inc/app_conf.hPlease review and let me know if the change is required, or if I am not understanding things corr
