STM32 MCUs Wireless

I have an application consisting on two different tasks:1. Control a DMX bus which requires the MCU to transmit a command to the UART every 22ms2. Send an uplink message via Lora periodically (every 10 seconds for example)I am using the RAK3172 SoC which is based on the STM32WLE5CC (single core Cortex-M4)I am hypothesizing that the LORA stack blocks the single core context for up to 100ms during the lora transmission. During this time, the main thread does not execute. Is this correct? And if so, is is possible to minimize the time the main thread is blocked?I am using Arduino just for the PoC. I am also open to experiment with FreeRTOS multi threading, but I suspect that this is a design limitation and cannot be worked around due to having a single core. Hi, I'm trying to enter bootloader mode but fails in the process. Things i have done: Shield powered with 3.3V FTDI attached to RXD, TXD, GND JP1 changed from User Flash -> Bootloader Measured that PA10 is high at boot I send 0x7F but doesn't receive anything. Oscilloscope used to be sure that 0x7F is transmitted Any suggestions on next steps?

I’m working with the STM32WL series and would like to know if it’s possible to configure the device to transmit a chirp-modulated signal at a specific timing (e.g., triggered by a timer or external event). Has anyone done this or have suggestions on how to implement it?

Hello everybody!Recently I've been trying to implement different low-power modes on the Nucleo-WL55JC board and measure the according power consumptions.  At the start I was provided an Otii Arc Pro with the software but then we realized it was a rather costly solution. So we switched to an alternative from Nordic Semiconductor, the Power Profiler Kit II (also known as PPK2).At first glance it seemed rather complicated to set up the Nucleo board with the PPK2, since it was originally made to work with nRF boards (as I understood it that way), and pins names and locations for external power supply change from an Nucleo board to another.Eventually I managed to set it up correctly by mimicking what I did with the Otii solution. I decided to share what I've found if you ever encounter this problem.1) Switch the jumper JP4 position to E5V, this would allow the PPK2 to power our board.

Hey, I am new to lorawan. I am using AWS iot core as my LNS. I am able to recieve downlink in class A after an uplink. But when I try to recieve downlink in class C mode I am unable to even class C works as class A where the downlink is recieved after uplink.Any idea why is this happening? Thanks.

Hi,I want to design my own LoRa-Board based on an STM32WLE-Chip. It is my first time handling with RF-related topics which is why I'm creating this post. I created a design which I would want to have reviewed for major flaws, so I can order my first prototype. I know that antenna impedance matching is not an exact science but I just want to correct the worst errors. Where did I get the LC-Values from:The LC-Values are according to AN5457 from ST (for 868MHz LoRa LowPower mode).  Where did I get the PCB-Antenna-Design from:The PCB-Antenna-Design is from Design Note DN023 from Texas Instruments. Greetings,To start with stm32 wireless series i bought STM32WLE5CC and uploaded my custom code of gpio toggeling without initialiazing PA13 and PA14 for serial wire debug. The program runs as it should but when i try to re-flash the controller with ST-Link V 2 the chip is not being recognized.Can this issue arise due to the failure of initialiazing PA13 and PA14 ? Colleagues,I need to implement the BLE_CableReplacement project on the b_wb1m_wpan1 device. Since I don’t know the services of this project (the BLE_CableReplacement.ioc file is not included), I tried to adapt the project for the b_wb1m_wpan1 device in IAR.Steps I took:In IAR General Options, selected ST STM32WB1MMC.Copied the B-WB1M-WPAN1 folder into the BSP directory of the BLE_CableReplacement project.Added a reference in the preprocessor options.Removed stm32wbxx_nucleo.c from the project tree.Replaced it with b_wb1m_wpan1.c and commented out all instances of //#include "stm32wbxx_nucleo.h".

 I’m driving a hobby servo on the STM32WB5MM-DK Discovery board using TIM2 PWM and the STM32CubeWB Sequencer/LPM utilities. When I disable low-power mode entirely, the servo moves flawlessly on each 500 ms button-hold toggle. But as soon as I allow the LPM manager to enter Stop mode, the PWM pulses become unstable and the servo either jitters or stops moving.PWM in Stop Mode: Are there proven techniques to retain stable PWM outputs during Stop or Low-Power Run modes on STM32WB series?Sequencer Integration: Can anyone share examples of driving servos reliably while staying in LPM using the Utility Sequencer?I have uploaded the project.

I saw in the datasheet that we could have 2 different power supplies LDO and SMPS, I also saw that the SMPS mode was more economical than LDO, that's why I'd like to use it.I'd like to know if it's possible to activate this mode in the PingPong code? Hello All,I am working on STM32WLE5 , and low power mode used for controller is stop 2 mode. And I am using MSI at 4Mhz  as system clock. When i enable debugger mode, controller takes reset after a while and reset type shown is also not correct. While controller is in stop 2 mode, 3 timers are running for the walk by purpose . I have gone through debug configurations and they are ok i think.Can you please help, what might be the issue?Thanks

Hi,I'm currently trying to get Bluetooth working from Zephyr. I'm working with the Zephyr sample codezephyr\samples\bluetooth\peripheral_dis.I'm using a Nucleo-WB55RG board. Using STMCubeProgrammer I've loaded the FUS at 0x080EE000 and the file stm32wb5x_BLE_Stack_full_fw.bin at 0x080D0000. I was wondering if anyone had managed to get the LoRaWAN End-Node example running on other MCUs than the STM32L series. I've been trying to get it to run on the STM32U5A9 combined with an SX1262, but I haven't had any luck. I'm trying to integrate this into a clean project structure, unlike the one from the example applications where there are files like sys_app.c that manually configure the SPI bus instead of using CubeMX generated code. I have manged to succesfully port the SX1262 driver code from Semtech itself (https://github.com/Lora-net/sx126x_driver), however I don't see how to integrate this with the LoRaWAN example. If anyone has succeeded or has any tips, any help would be appreciated!

Hello,      I would like to know if fw developed in stm32cubeIDE for nucleo wl55jc1(there are some examples for it) is compatible with https://www.st.com/en/microcontrollers-microprocessors/stm32wle5cc.html mcu family(stm32wle5ccu6) or I should expect some differences in registers and initialization code to be necessary. Thanks,       Mihai  

HiIm a bit new and have som RF related question.I am doing a heart monitoring project where i want to measure ECG signals, put it through my AFE (analog frontend), then into the ADC inside the MCU and then output the data through BLE into a phone. I am using STM32WB55CEU6. My question is: Is it very important to get the two matching networks correct (one for the RF pin and one for the antenna)?Can i just copy the matching networks from the reference example in the application notes of the MCU and the antenna even though im using different PCB-stackups?I don't know enough about RF to design my own matching network. Keep in mind i just want to make the BLE work, im not trying to have optimal performance. Thanks in advance.

Hi.I'm working with the EVAL STM32WB5MM-DK for a while now, already programmed the stack and the FUS many times, and it's the first time I got this error.After successfully open STM32CubeProgrammer (v2.19) and connected to the programmer, Selecting the latest FAS file (1.22.1)And pressing "Firmware Upgrade", the upgrade fails and stop on warning "FAS_STATE_IMG_NOT_FOUND".Same for my 2 laptops, 2 Evals, and 1 board connected to the ST-LINK programmer.Happen also for stack programming, and after full chip erase.Please advice.  Pressing R

There are already a few threads discussing this topic, but none of them have an answer.How can one force the STM32WB35 to send an event upon receiving a scan request? The documentation (rather vaguely) states that this can be achieved by setting the appropriate mask (0x1u) when calling the aci_hal_set_event_mask function (as far as I remember, there is no mention anywhere that this function is available only in BLE_Stack_full_extended_fw.bin).Even though the function executes successfully (returns 0), during scanning (with NRFConnect) I do not receive any information from the stack indicating that someone has read the data from the scan response.In SVCCTL_App_Notification, I am handling HCI_VENDOR_SPECIFIC_DEBUG_EVT_CODE, and within that, I handle ACI_HAL_SCAN_REQ_REPORT_VSEVT_CODE. Best,msemegen

Hey there,i have a custom board designed which is broadcasting stuff over BLE.So far i am using the full_stack_fw which works quite well.In order to turn on extended advertising i wanted to switch over to the full_extended_stack (needed for extended advertisement).So i flashed the chip with the extended firmware.After that i created a brand new project in CubeIDE and configured all the things.Now i try to flash the application but it wont boot up :\It gets somewhat of a HardFault after turning on BLE WAPN.
