STM32CubeProgrammer (MCUs)

Hi, I've just installed v2.14.0 for the first time, but it will not start up. All I get is the blue STM screen for a few second, then it disappears. I tried the command prompt start up detailed in This Post but I end up with an error message, shown below. I need help on how to proceed as I do not have JRE installed on my PC, but have had it in the past. Hi,I am using the STM32CubeProgrammer API (v2.20.0) on Windows 11 using the Visual Studio UART example as a base. Everything works fine, however this issue is slowing down the programming workflow.After programming the MCU option bytes to RDP1 (or Closed state on some newer devices), there is a long delay (20 to 30 seconds) during the attempts to reconnect to the device. I already expect that the reconnection attempt will fail, so is there a way to reduce the time or number of reconnection attempts? Or a way to cancel the current operation? The time taken for failed reconnection attempts is 2x longer than the actual programming of the MCU.I noticed that there is a getCancelPointer() function in the API, but I have found no documentation or examples on how to use it. Hallo zusammen,mir ist im STM32CubeProgrammer (GUI, v2.19.0) ein merkwürdiges Verhalten im Automatic Mode aufgefallen:Wenn man den Haken bei "Run after programming" direkt aktiviert und dann auf „Start“ klickt, wird kein Reset ausgeführt, obwohl die Option gesetzt ist. Das Programm wird nicht neu gestartet. Wenn man schnell hintereinander viele Platinen updaten will mit Neustart des Programms ist dies hinderlichWorkaround:Wenn man den Haken einmal entfernt und dann wieder setzt, funktioniert der Reset im Automatic Mode anschließend wie erwartet. I have been programming my STM32H743 custom board for over a year.  Suddenly I'm getting the error message Error: No STM32 target found... I have tried changing the ST-Link itself but get the same error message.

Hello, Iam working o STM32H573I-DK Board when am trying to access board am getting trustzone issue.I tried with Debug Authentication also but am unable to access board.Find the attached description. 

I am working with the STM32N6-GettingStarted-ObjectDetection demo.  I found that doing a full chip erase wipes some bootloader code.  I was able to get my project going again by flashing the .hex file that came with the STM32N6-GettingStarted-ObjectDetection demo, the loading my code. Digging around on the net suggested that the prebuilt demo has a bootloader.  I have been unable to locate the bootloader.Can you provide me with the bootloader, preferably as a .hex file?

Hi. I have a request. Is it possible to compile STM32CubeProg for arm linux?Right now it is possible to compile firmware for stm32 on arm linux using the stm32duino toolchain from ST.However, the STM32CubeProg is only available on intel linux. This means we can compile firmware on an arm system such as Raspberry Pi 4, but there is no official tool to upload the firmware.Note I'm not asking for the whole STM32Cube IDE - just the STM32CubeProg cli would be sufficient.

Hello, I have managed to use stm32flash to flash custom binary to the STM32 through the raspberry pi.This involves moving BOOT0 to 0V, pressing reset and running the command.I can also include -R to software reset the STM32 after this is finished.I then decided to try using a GPIO from the PI to change BOOT0 from 3.3v to 0V and this also works but I still have to manually press the reset button on the bluepillI have read the following but finding it a little hard to understandGPIO sequence: - entry sequence: GPIO_3=low, GPIO_2=low, GPIO_2=high - exit sequence: GPIO_3=high, GPIO_2=low, GPIO_2=high stm32flash -R -i -3,-2,2:3,-2,2 /dev/ttyS0Are these GPIO pins from the Pi or from the STM32?How do I connect this?I thought about applying 0V to the reset pin on the STM32 but I see a capacitor is used and this is further confusing.The reason I need this is for firmware upd

STM32CubeProgrammer has a C++ API which allow to create program compiled using qt creator. Is it possible to compile for linux os and run in rasperry os which is debian based?

Per the title really - I've just tried to install the Linux version on a raspberry pi running Raspbian / Debian 11.7 'Bullseye' and, well, NOTHING happens.If I click 'SetupSTM32CubeProgrammer-2.16.0.linux' nothing happens at all, if I select "execute in terminal" I get a brief flash of a terminal window, a mystery file of 0 bytes is created (named with a single unicode character and 'P').If I run it from the terminal I get:$ ./SetupSTM32CubeProgrammer-2.16.0.linux-bash: ./SetupSTM32CubeProgrammer-2.16.0.linux: cannot execute binary file: Exec format error  Also why is a tool for programming microcontrollers a 286Mb download for which we must give ST our blood type and inside leg measurement just to be allowed to download it? :flushed_face:

Hi,I would like to use a Raspberry Pi to program the STM32F722RET6 micro controller via the RPI UART. My Problem is, that the Cube Programmer is not made for ARM architecture, so it cant run on the Pi.I cant find a solution for this, apart from emulating a x86 environment on the PI which I would like to avoid.Is there any simpler version of the Programmer which could run on a Raspberry PI?Thank you for your help.

Hi,I would like to program the STM32F091 with the internal bootloader via UART (AN2606).My special case is that I have to do the programming not from a PC, it's a another embedded system that will control the programming of the STM32F091.So I'm looking for source code (C or C++) that I could migrate in my embedded system?Does this exist?Thanks

We've been succesfully using stm32flash in the past to flash our STM32 MCU that are attached to Raspberry Pi servers (no desktop or X). As we moved on to STM32G0 it seems that stm32flash is no longer working and we are forced to use STM32CubeProg to flash our firmware. Is it possible to install STM32CubeProg on a) ARM such as RPI, b) server with no desktop?To begin with, the installation instructions require the installation of OpenJFX which is not relevant (nor possible, in lieu of X) in this case, we intend to use only the CLI interface through scripts that perform the flashing.Then, trying to run the installation script on the RPI fails since the provided installation binary is for x86.

I'd like to use a STM32 Nucleo from my raspberry pi  (raspian 64 bit ARM).From my x86 PC I use this https://www.st.com/en/development-tools/stm32cubeprog.html#st-get-software and download the linux version of the tools: this works. The same version doesn't work on raspberry pi as it's arm64 based: I get an " cannot execute binary file: Exec format error" error. I found no version of stm32cubeprog for raspberry pi arm on the STM web site (I tried macos arm version but get the same error than when setting up the linux version of the tool). Is there a way to get stm32cubeprog to work on raspberry pi  (raspian 64 bit ARM) ? How and where to get binaries? 

Just posting this incase it helps someone with this problem that I encountered recently.I just update to new windows 11 laptop so I started going through the laborious process of installing all my tools including the latest STM32Cube programmer v2.22. Figured this would be a good time to update everything since I'm installing everything fresh anyway.The issue I encountered is that v2.22 will connect and program the STM32 MCUs just fine but if I try to run the Serial Wire Viewer SWV I get no print outs. I tried a lot of things like reinstalling windows drivers and reinstalling the software but none of that worked, slowing clocks down and other stuff. In the end I removed v2.22 and installed v2.20 and that fixed the issue immediately. #bug-report 

Hello ST Community,I'm trying to connect via UART instead of ST_LINK to the NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q, but it just won't connect.First, I connect the 3.3V pin to BOOT0, and it activates in bootloader mode. Then, I click "Connect" in the STM32CubeProgrammer environment, and I get this error:The UART's RX and TX (it's a USB SERIAL CH340) are connected to the Arduino pin PD5 and PD6 (USART2) of the NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q. Pin GND are also connected correctly. The settings on the STM32CubeProgrammer are as shown in the photo:

Hi,The STM32_Programmer_CLI is installed by the ST VS Code plugin to a directory that will change from version to version and it's also not added to the PATH. I am trying to find a reproducible way to automatically add that install location to the PATH in my Dev Container so I can use command-line tools to program it.The current location is:~/.local/share/stm32cube/bundles/programmer/2.22.0+st.1/bin/STM32_Programmer_CLIwhere ~ is the user in the Docker container. I tried searching for it in a script run in "postStartCommand" from devcontainer.json which is run after the Docker container is started. But, the plugins have not been installed yet so that fails. Any suggestions? Could the plugin on install add it to the .bashrc in the future? Or perhaps an alias to it could be added to a constant location?

Hi,recently in STM32CubeProgrammer was introduced the Serial Numbering feature, which is much appreciated.However, it's limiting because the serial number is assigned manually, setting a starting value that is progressively incremented.In a production site with multiple test stations, it becomes difficult to synchronize the various stations on the SN to be used.Hence my request: it would be very useful if the Serial Numbering section were integrated with a "Script" field, in which the user can enter the filepath of a custom "C-style" script (or in the programming language of ST choice) whose return value is the SN to be programmed. The script (customizable by us) will provide the correct return value, based on the logic the end company wishes to use to assign the SN to its devices (e.g., databases, *.csv, etc.). Hoping for a future update, I look forward to hearing from you.Best regards,Matteo
