Posted on November 25, 2014 at 13:18Hello, Yesterday, I investigated a problem with my software project for an SPC560B. There are several calculations running on the controller and it additionally communicates over UART with a PC. When I tried to increase the UART baud rate, I got the effect that the controllers ''miss'' some bytes sent by the PC. I found out, that reason for that effekt has something to do with the UART RX interrupt and an interrupt created by the periodical timer PIT. After the PIT causes an interrupt, the UART RX can not trigger an interrupt. I always thought that a higher priority interrupt can break the program even when another lower prior interrupt is currently running? Best regards, Patrik

Posted on April 15, 2015 at 08:00I am using SPC5Studio with SPC560D MCU for a long time. From couple of days back, when I start the SPC5Studio application it asks for the login information (user name and password) for three different urls. Please find attached images for the same. This was not required earlier. What information is required to provide there? From where to get the user name and password? Has any one experienced this? Failure to login is preventing me from getting latest updates.Your earliest help in this regard will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.Mike. #login

Posted on April 17, 2015 at 10:55Hello,I am trying to execute a simple serial driver application on my target board. It uses SPC560D30L3 MCU. I have tested the same code using SPC Discovery kit (SPC560D30L3) mounted on it. The code executes successfully on Discovery kit but fails to execute on actual target hardware. When debugged, it displays following warning,''Warning, Core::PpcJtagTargIntf, Unknown break cause !!!''It hangs inside the function 'componentsinit' giving above warning. What could be wrong? Is any other configuration required for MCU or for debugger? I am using SPC5-UDESTK debugger here.Thanks in advance for your any help.Mike. #jtag

Posted on April 09, 2015 at 12:22I am using SPC560D-DIS Discovery board for development and SPC5 studio.I have imported test application 'SPC560Dxx OS-Less CAN Test Application for Discovery' for FlexCAN testing. In this FlexCAN0 is used in loop back mode. It is working in loop back mode. But after disabling loop back mode, it is not transmitting data on CANTx. The code for TX mailbox remain as 0x0C and error handler is generating. Posted on April 08, 2015 at 09:33Hi there,I am trying to run a test application (SPC560Bxx OS-Less test application) on SPC560B60L5 mounted in SPC560BADAPT144S evaluation board, using SPC5-UDESTK.After generating and building the test application I am trying to connect by pressing hte debug button, but it says that launch failed, binary not found.After creating a ''C/C++ Application'' debug configuration and pointing it at the out.elf file in the build directory, I am still failing to connect with the error:Error while launching command: gdb --version.Is there anything missing in my SPC5 installation? Also, could someone point me at a step by step tutorial application notes? I was unable to find one in ST's site.Thanks in advance.

Posted on April 06, 2015 at 12:56Hello Members,I am trying to purchase 10 SPC560D40L3 MCU for building my product prototype. I tried placing the order with ST. I was directed to ST vendor. Even after accepting a lead time of 24 weeks, I am unable to get any clear communication from either ST or vendor for the arrival of the MCU devices. Has anyone tried to buy this or any other SPC560 MCU? What is your experience? I am worried for the production time because if the MCUs are not getting available on time, this may hamper my product launch.I even tried to book few samples for this MCU but there also no clear communication from ST and hence decided to go for purchase.Has anyone experienced similar for SPC560 series MCU? Posted on April 05, 2015 at 15:54Hi I Want to use ADC of My SPC560B-DIS , first there is not an example for this Dev Board in SPC-Studio but when i want use the other samples for ADC when i want to set ADC pin, in pinmap wizard i have a Warning and the program is not work , i do not know the problem is in my program or the pin map cuase this . Posted on April 03, 2015 at 16:34Hello,I am trying to use flash driver from Application Configuration for SPC560D40L3 device. I used an example from SPC560B series available with SPC5Studio. I modified the platform settings to use SPC560D40L3 device, modified the flash address and page settings as per new device and tested the application using SPC Discovery kit (it has SPC560D40L3 mounted on it replacing the SPC560D40L1). Now I created a new application by adding the flash driver from availble components for SPC560D series. With same code files, as above example, when I try to build the application it gives an error for 'FlashMap.h' module. When compared, the two header files - one with new flash driver and the older with SPC560B device are not matching. I am attaching both files here. Posted on March 19, 2015 at 11:59I have configured few interrupts using Application Configuration -> ISRs (under SPC OSAL Component). I have multiple header files which I supplied to the 'Headers' parameter under 'ISRs'. I have provided 4 different header files. For another interrupt, I want one more header file. When I try to add one more file i.e. 5th one, the SPC5Studio IDE hangs (initially shows busy but later changes to 'not responding' and can not be exited). Is ther limit for no of header files for ISRs? Why is this issue?Thanks.Mike. #interrupts---headers

Posted on March 25, 2015 at 17:45Hello,i'm trying to send UART frame using DMA.==> the problem is that the last bytes in the UART fifo not sended. and when i send the next frame i receive the last byte of the old frame. is there any mothod to clear the UART fifo before starting DMA transfer ???why the last bytes in the fifo not sended ? 

Posted on January 29, 2015 at 13:56HiSection 6.1.1 of the SPC560x Reference Manual says that ''in order to successfully boot from flash memory, you must program two 32-bit fields into one of 5 possible boot blocks.''I have written 0x005A005A to address 0x00000000 accordingly (on our SPC56B Discovery Kit) but neglected to program a valid 32-bit reset vector. Now the board is stuck in reset (I can't even connect the JTAG probe).Is there any way of resolving this? Not just to ''unbrick'' the development hardware but if this were to happen ''in the field''.ThanksKevin

Posted on March 22, 2015 at 07:52I'm having problems getting the demo code to successfully RX on FlexCAN0 and then TX on FlexCAN1 (and vice versa). canReceive() detects the new message and returns MSG_OK when using a breakpoint in canlld_receive() and stepping code. Then canTransmit() loads the TX mailbox on the other CAN with the received CAN ID and data. However, the code never seems to trigger a breakpoint when checking for MSG_OK in main(). (Demo code cut from one of the OS-less CAN demo's. Data is being received as I am successfully seeing it when copied to the periodic TX I also have running. SOmetimes the TX from the RX can be seem, but it only comes out with the periodic TX. Any ideas: - RX not returning MSG_OK (corrupted) when running in realtime? - What might delay TX until another TX? I believe double checked PADSEL, etc are OK.

Posted on March 16, 2015 at 15:58Hello Members,I am trying to generate the PWM output on channel 1. As per my understanding, channel 0 is PA9, channel 1 is PA10 and so on. I am using the test application ''SPC560Dxx OS-Less PWM-ICU Test Application'' for this. I performed following steps,1. Changed the platform component to SPC560D30L3.2. Tested the app for PWM on channel 0 (PA9) and it is working fine.3. I changed the PA9 to PA10.4. Under HAL drivers, I modified the eMIOS settings for channel 1. (i.e. disabled ch 0 and enabled ch 1, keeping the callback function names as it is)5. Generate application and build the project.6. Debug and testI am not getting the PWM output on ch 1 (PA10). Posted on March 16, 2015 at 19:15Hi I want to use 2 can port , i tried a lot for this issue in two MCU : SPC560B50L5 and SPC560B54L5 Both of them Have a same Response in this family when i look at the datasheet i saw a Flexcan1 have 3 CANRX pin And 2 CANTX pin  in program you can set the function of pin for can driver when you set pins manualy or set with pinmap . Finally I found the Special pins for can is work correctly : only PC[10] =CANTX1 and PC[3] =CANRX1  the Refrence manual and datasheet said you can select the pin  but it is not correct is this bug or not ? best regards Vanima

Posted on March 12, 2015 at 18:04Hi When i want to config Pin for flexcan1 in spc560b50L5 i set the pin PC10 and PC11 for TX and RX but flexcan1port not work.  (same function work for CANFlex 0) then i change the other pins in pinmap wizard like output but when i close the pinmap and next time re-open the pin map all CANRX pins have an error. when i check the pins pinmap automaticly change the CANRX and Flexcan1 do not work is this a bug or not ? please help me thanks Best Regards Vanima

I've got a very basic function set up to write a succession of 32bit words from one array to another using the eDMA. but it doesn't seem to ever get on to the second (or subsiquent) major loop iterations (as in CITER decriments the once but then not again) If i manually reset the TCD.START, the next iteration happens (and if I keep doing this the iterations continue till CITER is zero and the done flag is activated) However I assume that subsiquent 'loops' should be started by hardware. Any help with this would be appreciated. #discovery #iter #dma

Posted on January 19, 2015 at 10:45Hello,I am trying to build a project created using SPC5Studio Wizard. The steps used are File->New->SPC5Studio Wizard. Afte this I selected SPC560D-DIS as the product line. Then selected all the drivers with OSLess version. I selected all the available applications for this configuration. I tried building one of the application - SPC560Dxx OS-Less Test Application for Discovery, it is giving following errors,- Symbol 'NULL' could not be resolved- Symbol 'uint32_t' could not be resolved- Symbol 'int32_t' could not be resolved- Symbol 'uint16_t' could not be resolved- Symbol 'uint8_t' could not be resolvedSimilar errors for different defines used in main.c file are there. Few errors are for the functions used like osalThreadSleepMilliseconds().Can you please help me resolve these? Is any project setting/configuration missin

Actually I'm working with SPC56EL70L5DISP Discovery Board. I'm using all the Graphical Tools present inside the SPC5 Studio for SPC56 MCU line but nevertheless I'm following the procedures I'm having software problems since I've not found many supports about how to use the API related to the different HAL Components. I've searched for several reference notes in the ST forum and site but unfortunately I've not found in them basic informations about how to use the Drivers related to the HAL Components. In Application Configuration ==> SPC56ELxx Platform Component ==> Runtime Settings I saw the option ''Dual Core Mode'' but it can´t be changed. Is this function prepared for use but currently not implemented in SPC5 Studio? Is it planned to implement the function in one of the next SPC5 Studio releases? Best regards, Patrik
