Posted on July 06, 2018 at 07:27Hi,I'm using a Nucleo-F401RE whith HSE at  9.8304MHz.I try to receive, on UART6, IRDA frames of unknown dimension : from 4 to 60 bytes max; the third code received specify, by a table, the length of the frame. (STX, DEST ADDRESS, COMMAND_CODE, (N-PARAMETERS))Interrupt is enabled and  I'm using  receiveng byte after byte:HAL_IRDA_Receive_IT(&hirda6, DataTemp,1);IRDA settings are:  hirda6.Init.BaudRate = 38400;  hirda6.Init.WordLength = IRDA_WORDLENGTH_8B;  hirda6.Init.Parity = IRDA_PARITY_NONE;  hirda6.Init.Mode = IRDA_MODE_TX_RX;  hirda6.Init.Prescaler = 1;  hirda6.Init.IrDAMode = IRDA_POWERMODE_NORMAL;Receiving is made by a personal procedure due to the arriving  frames:void USART6_IRQHandler(void)    {    uint32_t isrflags   = READ_REG(hirda6.Instance->SR);    uint32_t cr1its     = READ_REG(hirda6.Instance->CR1); 

Posted on July 12, 2018 at 16:59Hello,I have a pb with UART1 for L152RE board. I connected a sensor to my board in UART2 through a Max232 and i succeed to have information to my hyperterminal (TerraTerm). But i was not able to have information in the variable (or buffer) in my code. I was told that UART2 can not do that, so i was adviced to use UART1.So i did it with UART1 but i'm not able to get data neither through hyperterminal nor in the variable in my code.To parametrize the code, i use CubeMX and i changed the main.c. Do i have to change something else?Find attached my code.Thank you for your help.

Posted on July 05, 2018 at 21:12Hi,I'm using BlueNRG-MS to transfer data to host PC running windows 10.The connection interval is 15ms, slave latency 5, connection timeout of 300 ms. BlueNRG-MS sends 1 notification of 20 bytes each connection (verified using BLE sniffer). Everything seems to work fine.However, after few seconds of steady link, connection suddenly drops.Running in debug I see that the connection status is '1' and that no disconnection event was received, even tough device is not connected in windows BLE settings.I'm running on 32 MHz and 32 kHz clocks if it matters, HS startup time is calibrated, IFR is configured properly.Any ideas how to solve this?

Posted on July 09, 2018 at 13:01Good day, everyone,I have tried using the ST7590 QFN chip and I found that its functionality is limited, and the TQFP package is the advertised stand-alone chip. I have been advised (if I am going to make a change) I might as well move to the ST8500. If I do make the change I would like to get a feel for the chip first. I have never used an ST microcontroller and I see there is a project building tool called CubeMX. I would like to find out if only the STM32 are supported or are their other chips like the ST8500 are supported?Even though I will need to sign an SLA to use this chip, will I still be able to ask questions in a public forum (such as this one) about setting up UART, analogue-read, digital IO, using the cortex-M4 built-in functions and other such functions or will that breach the contract? I do not intend to put up any documentation I get from signing the SLA, but this is a more complex chip than the ST

Posted on July 09, 2018 at 16:42I am trying to receive CANopen data (8bytes sent every 1s) with Nucleo  L476RG (it has only Master CAN interface but I think it should not matter since CAN is multimaster). For conversion CANH and CANL to CANRx and CANTx I use recommended IC sn65hvd230. In examples I have found only loopback example. If somebody can provide me with a code how to configure CAN for receive periodically mentioned 8 bytes it would be of great help.David#nucleo-l476rg #can

Posted on July 01, 2018 at 16:21Hello, I am trying to develop a new product with the SPBTLE-1S module, my idea is to use the module connected to a uC by UART.https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/spbtle-1s.pdf Looking in the datasheet I see that the pinout description changes depending on the 'Mode', but I can't find anywhere how these modes are set.Could anyone help me?I am on the point of defining the hardware connections.Many thanks#spbtle-1s

Posted on July 04, 2018 at 12:44Hello,I am using BluNRG-1 module with Stack v1.0.My clock source is 'LS_SOURCE = LS_SOURCE_INTERNAL_RO', the module has no external oscillator.I used the following code to lower the power consumption, as it is adviced in 'BlueNRG-1 and BlueNRG-2 low power modes.pdf' and I am getting average current consumption about 120 uA.BlueNRG_Sleep(SLEEPMODE_WAKETIMER, WAKEUP_IO13, WAKEUP_IO_LOW, 0);I also tried SLEEPMODE_NOTIMER option with the same current consumption: 120 uA.The advertising interval in my application has been set to 1000 ms.Can you please advice, what setting will make the power consumption below 20 uA?In advance thanks,Evgeny#bluenrg-1 #sleep-mode

Posted on July 01, 2018 at 10:24Hi.I wanted to buy Bluenrg evaluation board but I couldn't do it because of export restriction.So I designed a board referring to STEVAL-IDB008V1 schematic.Artwork design is very simple so I expected bluenrg to connect with St-link.Sometimes bluenrg was recognized on bluenrg-1 st-link utility but after a short time, VDD and GND became shorted.I think that my soldering skill and circuit design can be a problem. I will re-design my board but I have some question to make sure.Can I program bluenrg with st-link using 4 pins (SWTCK, SWTDIO, RST, GND) ???Is there any cautions or notes for using bluenrg chip?Thank you.#stlink #bluenrg-1 #bluenrg

Posted on June 27, 2018 at 20:31Hi,I have problem with this wifi module.After I saved configuration settings  in module (act as wifi client) he does not starts at all.I thought that I destroyed some internal file system structures/module config so I tried to enter into bootloader mode to overwrite firmware and factory settings but without success. It looks like that the module does not response at all.Information about my module:+WIND: Power On (170111-665d284-SPWF01S)I attached boot sequences screen from logic analyzer.Does anyone has idea how to start this module or how to make detail diagnosis of this case?#spwf01sa #wifi-spwf01sa

Posted on June 27, 2018 at 16:46Hi,We're just completing a design based on the ST BlueTooth Low Energy module SPBTLE-RF.However, we are finding it very difficult to find any stock (in the UK at least)SPBTLE-RF is marked as not recommended for new designsSPBTLE-RFTR looks ok and appears to be just a different format (Tape & Reel)But delivery times are anything from 5 weeks to a year !Nucleo development boards for BLE are still featuring this module so I presume it isn't going to be superseded anytime soon ? Thanks for any info anyone may have..#ble #spbtle-rf

Posted on June 27, 2018 at 21:59Unlike the datasheet for BlueNRG-2 (https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/bluenrg-2.pdf ), the BlueNRG-1 datasheet (https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/bluenrg-1.pdf ) lacks chapter bookmarks. I really miss them because it's more difficult to navigate to particular spots in the 184 page document without bookmarks.Would some kind person @ST please consider replacing the sans bookmarked version of bluenrg-1.pdf with one that has the chapters bookmarked?   Thank you in advance#bluenrg-1 #documentation-feedback #datasheet

I am trying to get the connection established between acquisition board(transmitter) with the Main display board (receiver). Both have this module configured in P2P mode.I used a code base from STM32CubeExpansion_SUBG1_V2.0.0 - I am using F4 controller @ both sides.Essentially same code base.HAL_Spirit1_Init();P2P_Init();Seems to do its job. Confirmed SPIs CLK and other things.P2P_Process @ receiver side does not receive anything. Perhaps, sending is not proper. Not sure.I am setting state machine to SM_STATE_START_RX for receiving and SM_STATE_SEND_DATA for transmitting before P2P_Process call.Only change in my implementation is GPIO IRQs (Tx/Rx) are not configured. In my board the module GPIOs(all 4)are grounded and NOT connected to processor. Is it necessary to connect and configure for this code base to work?Looking forward..Thank youGuna#spsgrf-868 #spirit

Posted on May 27, 2018 at 20:14 Hi, I'm using the BlueNRG-MS as HID peripheral and having trouble with the re-connection process. In order to reconnect with the central, I use directed advertising. The central recognize the slave and I get pairing complete event. The problem is that HID service remains encrypted for some reason and thus I cannot send HID reports (GATT services works). I can see that the device is connected. What is the correct procedure of initiating a reconnecting between bonded devices ? pseudo code will be welcome. However I've found the information published on STs website to be very lacking in technical details. From what information is available I'm sure that it can do what I need and do it well but I have no idea how to make it do it.I've raised a support ticket with ST asking for interface specifications, such as UART baud rates, timings, and pin functions, as well as what setup / initialisation procedures or required; and to be polite drawn a blank. The best that they could furnish me with was a C Header file overview from one of their dev boards, which was totally useless. As knowing what something does is totally different to my need of how it does it.Has anybody got any experience of using this device? and / or can anybody point me in the direction of the information I need to actually utilise the chip.Many thanksRussell

Posted on February 12, 2018 at 12:33Hi, I got my STEVAL-IDB007V1M with the SPBTLE-1' (based on BlueNRG-1 and installed the STSW-BLUENRG1-DK (v2.6.0). With the help of Antonio (https://community.st.com/0D50X00009XkWquSAF) I know, the STEVAL-IDB007V1M works as it should.I installed Atollic TrueSTUDIO for STM32 9.0.0, I imported the BLE_SensorDemo project as described in 'SensorDemo_BlueMS_main.c File Reference'. I can build the project - when I flash the Release.hex file to the BlueNRG-1 with the 'BlueNRG-1 Flasher' nothing happens on the BlueNRG-1.Same with Micro_Hello_World :(What's wrong?I set the HS_SPEED_XTAL=HS_SPEED_XTAL_32MHZ in BLE_SensorDemo and I already switched the optimization level to -O0 in the compiler settings of the projects.TIA, best regardsWolfgang
