STM32 MCUs

Hi,We are currently utilizing a custom-designed STM32U5G7 microcontroller for our application with the MSI clock configured to 1 MHz. Despite configuring the device in Sleep and Stop modes, with all GPIO pins set to input and one pin configured as an EXTI interrupt for wake-up, we are observing a current draw of approximately 2mA. Our goal is to reduce the current consumption to the micro ampere range. Could you provide guidance on further optimizing power management and implementing lower-power modes?I have attached the code ,pin out configuration and current drawn  measured using Otii.

Hi Team,  We are using Nucleo W55RG board for testing BLE.  We have a requirement to configure the Nucleo board as Client ( Able to connect to an advertising device) and able to send data to an external Advertising device.  We are trying to explore the examples like the P2PClient and P2PServer, but unable to get it working / scan another BLE device.  Since we are new to BLE and with such activity, would request your support in accelerating things faster.  Please suggest us which example to use and also what configuration the advertising device needs to be.    Regards, Tejaswi 

We use a STM32H743 and I want to connect an external reference voltage to the Vref pins. We use 3 ADCs, and for each ADC, we sample 4 channels. Each channel must be read at 100 ksample/s. The 3 ADCs operate continuously. A common ADC clock of 10 MHz clock is used. The resolution used is 16 bits for each channel. I have the following questions:1) What is the average current drawn from the Vref pin for all 3 ADCs during conversion?2) What is the Radc value?3) The SAR ADC has internal capacitors that are charged/discharged from/to a reference voltage in a very short time during successive approximations. The voltage reference including an external buffer capacitor on the Vref pin must be capable to deliver energy in a short time without changing the Vref voltage. I read that there are buffered and unbuffered voltage references. I'm intended to use a REF3433 and an external capacitor of 10uF. The REF3433 is an unbuffered reference source. I need help. I couldn't get any adc value whether with live expressions or UART . Hi, I am pretty new to STM32 MCUs and I am having trouble with USART communication. I would like to send a message from Nucleo-F401RE to raspberry pi 3b+, and then to display that message in terminal on raspberry. I have tried to use USART2 for this but it didn't work, then i read that USART2 is used when i connect Nucleo to the laptop so i changed the code to use USART1 and it still doesn't work. I have tested the USART2 with the advanced serial monitor on the laptop and it works properly. I have a simple project set up for the stm32h573II-DK that has USART1 set up and I can print to serial out over the same USB connector that uses ST-LINK with HAL_UART_Transmit(&hcom_uart[COM1], MSG, sizeof(MSG), 100);. I can not use HAL_Delay(1000); to print every ~1 second. When entering the HAL_Delay function, I can see with a debugger that uwTick is never incremented and with breakpoints I can see that the systick handler is never called. I made a project that doesn't have TrustZone set up and it can print every one second. I do not think this is an ISR priority issue, as I am calling HAL_Delay() from main(). All of the code was generated with cubemx and the only edits I've made were to add the print. What could I be doing wrong to prevent the systick interrupt from being handled correctly?

Hello all..I have a proprietary pcb with the above mcu.  Board works fine.  I am using BLE but with NO bells and whistles (no encryption, authenication or authorizations.  I decided I wanted to play around with these things so I have been following the MOOC videos on security.  In the following video at 3:12MOOC Pairing video the presenter shows that a pairing window pops up on the screen.  I have done exactly what he has done in short the only change I make is to change a NO to a YES on one of the characteristic permissions for ENCRYPTION READ.  When I try and access this my phone applications (I've tried nRFConnect and ST BLE Toolbox) disconnects and I do NOT get any pairing message.  Other characteristics seem to work fine.  Can anyone tell me what I may

Hi,I have a problem with FLASH. Key point of mine application program is a moment that saves 128B setting struct with magic-key pair (0xA55A and 0x5AA5) in the being and the end of a setting string. After power cycle, I do browse strings (+ integrity) and select the entry with the highest "index value". I'm using 2 pages (39-40), erase page mechanism, i.e. method similar to the EEPROM emulation SW, but much more space efficient. Naturally I'm using BLE and HW semaphore mechanism towards CPU2. Otherwise the CPU2 was failing over by breaking a BLE connection, as expected though. I'm using a flash_driver.c from ST example. Problem I do have is that after power-up/reset, the first 8B of entry during programing fails. Each next attempt is succesfull although. Hi, see above. I am using a custom G030F6 breakout board with the intent to install FreeRTOS and use this small device as a learning exercise as I usually use larger MCUs and super loops. My first hurdle is my RAM usage with a blank, generated projected. I get the following error when I configure FreeRTOS using STM32CubeIDE (I also get the same error if i import freertos manually and use the same memory allocations) and then compile a brand new project:section `._user_heap_stack' will not fit in region `RAM'I understand this to mean that my memory allocations are too large to fit within the available RAM. Hello,I have two IHM02A1 development boards stacked on top of an STM32F401. My goal is to control 3 stepper motors asynchronously in a daisy chain configuration. Currently I can control the two stepper motors connected to the bottom IHM02A1, but the third motor motion mirrors the first, and cannot be controlled asynchronously. I suspect this is due to the SDI/SDO daisy chain configuration. I believe, since I am using a daisy chain, the same CS pin can be used for both IHM02A1's. Is this correct? Also, according to UM1964, SB10, SB26, SB11 and SB32 are used to configure the SDI/SDO connections. But it is not clear which solder bridges need to be closed/open for stacking two IHM02A1. The default configuration on both stacked boards is SB10-open, SB26-closed, SB11-open, SB32-closed. Can someone direct me as to the proper solder bridge configuration for stacking two IHM02A1's with correct CS and SDI/SDO connections?Thanks,-CodeBlue

Hi, I wrote a standard (DFT)Discreate fourier transform code (code is not the issue), in NUCLEO-F207 board using zephyr RTOS. I build the same program for NUCLEO-F767 board and flashed. The time taken to execute DFT code in NUCLEO-F207 was 8700 micro seconds. The time taken to execute the same code in NUCLEO-F767 is 65000 micro seconds. FPU(Floating point unit) is enabled for NUCELO-F767 board  Hardware and softwares are completely same for both the boards How is it happening what is the potential cause ?

I am trying to implement the HTTP server and two TCP servers on Port 5000 and 5001 using FreeRTOS, but what I notice is if I try to connect all these three simultaneously it is failing, only gets to connect if other two are not connected.Controller used: stm32f407vgt6FreeRTOS API: CMSIS v2Clock configuration: 168Mhz with source HSII am using Hercules to check the connection over TCP.While debugging I am not getting any hardfault errors too. I tried increasing the size, and also by changing priorities. Hi,I'm using STM32H755ZI-Q Nucleo board and I'm trying to use TIM2 to trigger Dual ADC conversion. M7 core is running FREERTOS and M4 is bare metal. ADC is controlled by M4 core. DMA is used to transfer data to M7 and then M7 is using ethernet to transfer data further. Sampling rate of my ADC is 1.92MSPS (12bit). I'm tring to use TIM2 to trigger ADC. This should happen with rate of 60Hz. Every 16.67ms (60Hz), I would like to collect 2x2048 samples.It seems that I'm not getting configuration of ADC correct, since I'm actually getting one sample pair with 60Hz rate.  I'm not sure if configuration of ADC or DMA is incorrect? HAL_ADC_ConvCpltCallback() is firing at rate ~0.5Hz.

Hey folks,I've seen many posts from frustrated users of USB OTG HAL, especially when enabling DMA. what is the best/easiest way to have multiple connections to the same debug target using stlink as a debug adapter, i mean during an active debug session within the cubeide have another PC tool (custom built) that can interract with the hw, like read/write memory and registers.Theoretically the stlink can be shared via the stlinkserver, however its usage is not well documented (or at least i'm not aware of it)Some possibilities i could think of:1. talk to the stlinkserver directly somehow2. next to the active gdb connection from cubeide have a telnet session from the other tool3. use 2 instances of openocd, one from cubeide and the other for the tool (gdb based)4. others?I would prefer gdb based solution. Performance is relevant as i need to transfer large amounts of data Any hints, ideas?

Hello,​I am trying to drive a three-phase motor with the STEVAL-IPM15b, but it is not working properly. I applied 15V to Vcc and 125V or 150V to Vdc and tried testing, but the motor did not run. I checked TP5, TP12, TP6, and TP7 with an oscilloscope, and it seems that the gate signals are being generated. I have attached the waveform from the oscilloscope in the diagram.The yellow line shows the signals in the following order: HU (high side U phase), LU (low side U phase), HV, and HW. Additionally, I have set the dead time to 4μs. On the J2 connector, pin 2 is GND, pins 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 have the respective phase PWM signals, and pin 25 is receiving 5V.If my usage is incorrect, I would appreciate it if you could let me know.​Thank you for your time and assistance.Best regards,Jiro Tyubu.​  I solved it.(2025/3/16)

Currently, I'm dealing with the VL53L8CX sensor and the MZ-AI kit. Since I have a Linux PC (Ubuntu), I can't run the EVK app on it. Therefore, I want to write my own code to interpret the data coming from the MZ-AI kit. I would like to know if anyone has done this before and how they logged the data in a readable format. When I start the ranging function with enable, I only get unreadable characters. As a beginner, it might take me too much time to understand the format in which the data is sent through UART. So, I would like to know if someone can at least explain how I can transform it into readable characters. Thank you in advance!
