STM32 MCUs Embedded software

We are very rarely hitting an assert in vTaskStepTick() due to the sleep period being longer than expected. This looks like it could be due to a timing susceptibility in the kernel but that may be due to my own misunderstanding or something that we have done wrong. The function USBH_CDC_Receive should check that the parameter length is a multiple of endpoint size.Reason for this that CDC_ProcessReception calls USBH_BulkReceiveData with the argument CDC_Handle->DataItf.InEpSize. So if the argument pbuff passed to USBH_CDC_Receive points to a buffer smaller than the endpoint size USBH_BulkReceiveData will write over the buffer end.See also for a additional problem with CDC_ProcessReception.EDIT:Found another problem. I have Nucleo-STM32F429ZI board. STM32F4Cube only has one LwIP example for this board. But, I found more LwIP examples for the STM324x9I_Eval board. Now, I am trying to convert one of the Eval examples for the Nucleo board, specifically TCP Echo Client example.Eval uses MII and DP83848, whereas Nucleo uses RMII and LAN8742A. I saw these are configured in the 'low_level_init()' (ethernetif.c). Are these the only two configurations that I need to change? Or is there anything else I am missing?Note: I was able to run the Nucleo example successfully. But that example uses RTOS. Right now, I am trying to use the RAW API, hence trying to convert the Eval example.Disclaimer: I am new to Ethernet. So this might sound like a stupid question.

Hello,I am currently using a STM32F030CCT6 with the STM32F0xx_HAL_DRIVER generated by CubeMx. The version of the driver/cube is STM32Cube_FW_F0_V1.10.0.In my program, I have a low priority task that calls HAL_I2C_Mem_Read_IT. This function is interrupt based and therefore I should have no problem completing the I2C request. However, once in a while I get a timeout. I investigated that timeout and found out that my task get switch during the call to HAL_I2C_Mem_Read_IT.Going into HAL_I2C_Mem_Read_IT, I see that this function is called I2C_RequestMemoryRead. This function is responsible to send the device address and the memory address. When looking into the implementation I found that this function is not interrupt based!I get a timeout when the task switch during I2C_RequestMemoryRead! I was wondering if there was a particular reason why the function I2C_RequestMemoryRead is not interrupt based? Is this wanted? Is

With CubeMx 5.3.0 and library version 1.1.0 for the stm32G474RE was the Timebase Source in system (SYS) configured for TIM17On running the application is the "assert_failed()" executed.This assert was called from the 'HAL_NVIC_SetPriority() function.assert_param(IS_NVIC_PREEMPTION_PRIORITY(PreemptPriority));The PreemptPriority has a value of 0x10 => initialized by __NVIC_PRIO_BITS.But the "IS_NVIC_PREEMPTION_PRIORITY" macro tell us that the value should be lower than 0x10.#define IS_NVIC_PREEMPTION_PRIORITY(PRIORITY) ((PRIORITY) < 0x10U)What is wrong here the the "IS_NVIC_PREEMPTION_PRIORITY" or the "__NVIC_PRIO_BITS" value

I looked at the STM32CubeExpansion_Cloud_AWS_V2.0.0 but it is using the B-L4S5I-IOT01A board with wifi and not Ethernet and STSAFE storage which is not on my board. I found this STM32F746_AWS_IoT example but got lots of compilation errors. It uses both LWIPand mbedTLS. while the STM32CubeIDE only allows one of these packages at a time. Any help will be appreciated

I'm using an STLKT01V1 SensorTile, which is based on STM32L476.Since STLKT01V1 cannot select DFU update with the hardware, in my firmware I implemented a function for jumping to the embedded bootloader, as described into the application note, and this works fine.However, the problems are:1) I'm using Windows 10 Pro 64bit and the DFUse application doesn't find the device.The driver seems installed correctly, although I see a message that could be translated as "the device needs an additional installation".Instead, if I boot my PC with Windows 7 32bit, I had no problems: the DFUse utility finds the device and flashes it correctly.2) It seems that something is wrong with the DFU file generated by the DFU file manager.From Windows 7, I flashed the device but after I reset it, I discovered that it does not work.With Segger JLINK, I read the content of the flash memory and I discovered that the final ~1000

Somewhere at the end of 2019 the HAL got some RTOF stuff added. Right from the start, it declared HAL_UART_ERROR_RTO, which makes no sense, because RTOF is not an error! And with this start it got processing that pretty much makes using RTOF impossible, since it treats it as an error and does a lot of unnecessary things, especially if DMA used.As a result, if one wants to handle RTOF to flush data in circular DMA buffer, it is necessary to hack IRQ handler function, which makes writing universal code (i.e. working for any UART channel enabled in Cube) impossible.Can someone take a look at this? If nothing else, rolling back these changes will help somewhat.

Dear all,I am trying to use the above function to transfer data from STM32F429 to an external SRAM device but I am not able to see the signals generated.I can use without ptoblems a similar function (HAL_SRAM_Write_16b(...)). I am using STM32cubeIDE I have tried to configure a MemToMem DMA but without success. I tried to update my project to version 1.2.0 and it didn't work. I now also found out that the precompiled version for the stm32f4 doesn't work. Also if I compile it by myself it doesn't work.I get a valid ip with dhcp but the ip gets released immediately. Is this an error on my side? It did work with previous versions. But as a lot of network stuff has changed in 1.2, I'm not sure if there may be a bug. Let me know if i can help with further infos

Hi. I have an application where I am using the LPTIM1 from an STM32L072 as a tick source for FreeRTOS. I am using the Idle Hook (not the tickless idle, that just did not work for me) to make the microcontroller reach STOP mode with a global variable from other task. To make the system wake up less often, I am using the minimum timeout when I am running my application and the maximum on the LPTIM when I want to put the MCU to sleep (besides disabling the other peripherals, my application only runs every hour and wakes up with the RTC).Everything is working fine so far. Is there any pitfall that I need to take into consideration when doing this? Is it in any way unsafe to do?Thanks in advance :)

Hi,I am trying to build this (https://github.com/IntergatedCircuits/DfuBootloader) bootloader for STM32F070CB microcontroller. I tried importing it into Atollic TrueSTUDIO and Eclipse IDE. Couldn't properly import the project and when I build it I get all sorts of different errors. Also I tried to run makefile in windows PowerShell using (--- make TARGET_HEADER="\<stm32f070xb.h>\" SERIES=STM32F0 APP_ADDRESS=0X08002000 APP_SIZE=120*1024 TOTAL_ERASE_MS=4000 VID=FFFF PID=F070 ---) command. When I do that (--- /bin/sh: /usr/bin/arm-none-eabi-gcc: No such file or directorymake.exe": *** [build_FFFF_FFFF/bsp_io.o] Error 127 ---) error appears. I am very new to this type of projects, recenly moved from Arduino IDE. Can anyone help me with the steps to build this project?

Hi,I’m using STM32H7xx with LwIP. My system works perfectly at my office, my home and even at my client in the US.However, only one location, at one of my colleague house, there are some issues with downloading file via LwIP.After instance investigation I’ve found out that the value of MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) at the router’s configuration wasn’t the same as at my application.At application the MTU defined to 1500, so as every other places.Except my colleague’s place which was defined as MTU = 1200.The question is how can I set the MTU in my application automatically to the defined MTU of the network?

Hi,I am trying to use FatFS generated from STM CubeMx as middlewares. I am using STM32L4 with external memory eMMC. I see that I can create upto 10 (0-9) Logical Partitions, but when I look into f_fdisk API, seems like it takes only 4. I understand that we can only 4 primary partition, But I believe that one of the primary partition can be used for extended partition. I am not able to understand if extended partitions is supported for not. It's may be not the good place to state this problem but I am trying for days to send data from Windows to my STM32F103C8T6 CustomHID keyboard with Visual Studio in c#.I tried many libraries and stuffs that did not work. I am using a custom bootloader in STM32F091RB controller (cortex M0) which has a system clock of 8MHz and my application STM32F091VC controller (cortex M0) has system clock of 48MHz. Will it affect my application peripheral's interrupt. As my interrupts are not working. I have also mapped vector table to SRAM and again remapped it to 0x00000000. Though its not working. Hi!I am using STM32F373RCT6 controller on custom board. In that board we have used USB to serial convertere chip FT2232HL-REEL and it is connected to USART1 (PA9 and PA10). STM32F373RCT6 system clock frequency is 70MHz.Can I use USB to serial option to debug the code instead of ST Link V2? In all likelihood, that example might freeze immediately, after a minute, or an hour, or after a day, or much later. Depends upon your luck! It is impossible to determine when the freeze will occur.eg:HAL_NVIC_SetPriority(TIM6_DAC_IRQn, TickPriority ,0U);or in ethernetif.c /* Enable the Ethernet global Interrupt */ HAL_NVIC_SetPriority(ETH_IRQn, 0x7, 0); HAL_NVIC_EnableIRQ(ETH_IRQn);As it turns out, I've had weird and random freezes.It turns out that, the interrupt priority 0 (the highest). Hi When calling HAL_ADC_Start, ADC_Enable returns with error due to timeout.The timeout set by the HAL is 2ms (ADC_ENABLE_TIMEOUT)I'm using the STM32L496 with MSI @1Mhz.I'm using the HAL with FreeRTOS, and there are several tasks running.There is more than 1 task using the ADC but on different ports (ADC1/ADC2/ADC3) and different channels.Once in a while during one of the measurements the timeout occurs.Increasing the timeout solved the issue.Any idea why this is happening. SO i was doing some stm32 research and developed some application now i am going in production phase. Now i wanted to use stm32f765 but there are couple of variants in that series.I am getting confused between this two models STM32F765ZIT6 and STM32F765VIT6 so the basic confusion comes from vddsdmmc and vddusb . this two pins are available in Z series while its not available in V Series. Since sdmmc and usb is supported in both the soc. Then why is it not available on V series . Since i am not getting enough information from reference hardware design regarding vddusb and vddsdmmc. If there is any specific improvement which is vddusb and vddsdmmc is responsible then i want to use Z series other wise i don't want to have any burden on pcb by just increasing pin numbers and i will go ahead with v seriesThank you! Hi everyone, It seems I'm always coming across this issue in one form or another. I want to link in the "libPDMFilter_CM4_GCC_wc32.a" St Motion Library, and I'm entering the library name and path in the linker/Libraries section.I have included an image. This method has worked in the past on an audio project using AC6.when I try to enter the library name and path using STM32CubeIDE it fails. I have tried these entries::libPDMFilter_CM4_GCC_wc32.a"${ProjDirPath}/Middlewares/ST/STM32_MotionMC_Library/Lib""${workspace_loc:/${ProjName}/Middlewares/ST/STM32_MotionMC_Library/Lib}"Can anyone shed some light on what I'm doing wrong?

I included a syscalls.c file where I have my _write function, but it never gets called. I've been working off of the UART_printf application in the Cube examples, but I'm really having trouble finding what's missing and it's starting to drive me crazy. I have a feeling it's something to do with my compiler, because printf is not in the generated map file at all. I've even tried a different arm gcc compiler.
