STM32 MCUs Motor control

We are using the latest MCSDK on some custom hardware and our hardware design has inverted shunt signals from the design examples. An inverted shunt signal obviously won't work properly with the motor controller code. I have been looking in the software where to make a change that would invert the signal but I am not having much luck. Does anyone know where I need to make the changes in the motor controller code to invert the signal and allow everything to work?

I am developing something using STEVAL-SPIN3202 Development KitIt supports BEMF however, 0x35{Observer BEMF alpha (PLL)} value has not been changed at ST Motor Control workbench. How can i use it?In addition, I only found Potentiometer and Uart in example source. Anybody has other example except only those 2 examples that appeared?

I am using the NUCLEO-F746ZG and X-NUCLEO-IHM08M1 3Sh configuration and try to run the motor Profiler. However, the programming seems to run properly, the connection to the board does not seems to work. I got the warning : The FW embeeded on control board is correct, but the control board communication is still missing.I also run another test with the Workbench solution and manage to connect to the board but the motor is not spinning. I am not sure what I am missing. Regarding the configuration of the boards themselves, information I found really depend on the source for my combo. Despite a lot of tests, the result is always the same.Hope you can help,regards

Currently I have run ST MCWB on an STMG431 Nucleo board through the USB ST-LINK connection. I now have a custom board and have been using a J-LINK debugger from Segger with Keil. Is it at all possible to communicate through the J-tag or SWD interface with MCWB? I hate to give up the ability to use MCWB on the target manufacturing boards.Thanks BT

I am using a custom board with STSPIN32F0A microcontroller. After assigning pins in the Motor control workbench, I am generating the code. Then I dump the code to the MCU by IDE.After that 12VReg starts.To test the motor, I go to Motor control Workbench--> Monitor section. Then I initiate UART communication and the device gets connected.But here the "Under Voltage fault always persists. Please check the image attached below."Note: I apply 12V input to run the Motor. I am using a custom board with STSPIN32F0A MCU to run a Bull Running Motor. I am continuously getting Over Current Fault when I try to test with Motor Control Workbench.Even after I disabled the Over Current protection, still I am getting this Error.What can be the probable causes of Over current Faults?Please help me sort this problem.Thank youRitul Shah

Messieurs,I am using the ST NUCLEO-F303RE together with an X-NUCLEO-IHM08M1 and the ST Motor Control Workbench (STMCW) to drive a BLDC motor using ST code.In addition, my company has designed its own motor control board for driving two BLDC motors using the same STM32F303RET6 processor. Hi, I am new to the Motion Control system.and I have SPIN-3201 with a BLDC motor.It is hard to apply ST Motor Control Workbench 5.4.6.because the version of STM32CubeIDE and some Setting of the Project(error of FOC duration and Start-up failure)anyway, my motor can run with Speed Control now.Now, I want to use Position Control Mode and there is good material "AN5464".but in the document "Quadrature encoder" is mentioned.As the title, Can I use Position control with Hall sensor with SPIN-3201?Best RegardsLYS

​Hello I have a question directed for the developers of the "X-CUBE-MCSDK: FOC motor control library" or anyone who has knowlege on the subject. ​Question: My understanding of the FOC (field oriented control) tech is that encoders are not needed due to the fact that that voltage sensors are used on the phase contacts to measure "back EMF" in order to know location and implement control of the motors rotor using algorithms like Cordic,PLL. My question is about the inner workings of the motor control library. I have chosen to use an encoder as the main commutation device and the motors hall sensor as the second auxilary sensor. Now my understanding is if an encoder is going to be used as the main commutation device it must first be aligned. ​And as stated in the FOC library documention if an encoder is chosen as the main device in addition to a secondary sensorless "virtual sensor device(cordic,etc.)" that uppon the first start of the motor the encoder will

I've been using the motor tools for about a year but some things are still fuzzy, and not documented well.If I make changes to the *.stmx file by using MCSDK to update an existing project will these changes be picked up by CubeMx when I generate code in CubeMx? Or do I need to first generate code in MCSDK?Thanks,

Background:I'm trying to set up DAC1 Ch1 & Ch2 on my motor project and need some understanding of the DAC use. I have read the Ref Manual but am still struggling.My motor project is using a STM32G431C8Ux (48-pin) device but MCSDK does not offer this as an option so I made a MCSDK project with a STM32G431CBUx device and generated a *.STMX file and *.ioc file. I then created a new *.ioc file for the STM32G431C8Ux by importing data from the first project. This approach was suggested by an ST Field Engr.This seems to be working and I can spin the motor.Problem:My problem is I want to use DAC1 Ch2 to output data for another use. Apparently in my MCSDK project both channels of DAC1 were setup to output data. This has rendered my DAC1_CH2 as not usable. I use MCSDK 5.3.2 and our board(which is similar IHM08h but we modify the over current from 30A to 60A) with using hall sensor to drive motor(our purpose is to drive E-bike and E-Scooter)But i find that in heavy load situation，i will hear motor will produce noise and motor sometimes will fail to move.Is there any way to improve this parts?thanks

Hello. I have done position control of single motor using P-NUCLEO-IHM03 with GM2804 + AS5048a(pwm encoder). And I hope to control 3 motors for gimbal. So I'm planning to design a board using the MCU and motor driver which are used in the P-NUCLEO-IHM03But, it seems that MCSDK does not support for multiple motor.How can I set the basic IDE project for 3 motors?

Often I find that MCSDK does not have the exact MCU I need to use so I need to end up modifying the CubeMx *.ico file generated from MCSDK.In trying to determine the relationship of these files I took an existing working project and renamed the *.stmx file to *.stmx_____. I then loaded the *.ico file with CubeMx with no complaints. Next I deleted the drive_parameters.h file then had CubeMx generate new code. The result was a new drive_parameters.h file was generated.Where does the information for this new drive_parameters.h file come from? There was no old drive_parmeters.h file and the *.stmx file was not present.I ask this because sometimes when rebuilding my project I find all my drive_parameters.h values have changed and I need to copy the file over from an archived project.Thanks for any insight you can give on this. A secret decoder ring would be appreciated from ST ;)Brian

Hi! I am using F746ZG + IHM08M1. And I need configuration with 2 insulated current sensors.My question is why in Workbench ICS gain is in range from -5V to 5V where the ADC max working range ist only 3.3V. Which current sensors should I buy 3.3V or 5V?Thank you!

Hi, I am new to custom PCB design. I am designing my first PCB with stm32f030 and PowerSTEP01. My application involves SPI communication with PowerSTEP01. I want to use the internal clock of the STM32 MCU to avoid external oscillator and capacitors. Does SPI communication work well without external clock signal? If yes, Should I leave the clock input pins PF0 and PF1 floating or pull down to ground?

Project generation -> "UPDATE" does not update STM32 pin assignment.AN5166 2.4.3: The preferred way to change pin assignment is obviously through the STM32 MC Workbench.The only way to change pin assignment through STM32 MCSDK is to select "GENERATE"

Hi everyone,I have a question about MCSDK for STM32G474QE mcu.I chose STM32G474QE in MCSDK gui software. My hardware phase sensing pins are connected to ADC1_IN5 (PB14) and ADC1_IN15 (PB0) pins. I want to use these pins for 2 insulated current sensor topology. When I checked MCSDK gui software (you can see in attachment), according to mcsdk gui ADC1_IN5 (PB14) and ADC1_IN15 (PB0) pins can only use for "phase U". How can I chose/use ADC1_IN5 for "phase U" and ADC1_IN15 for "phase V", is it possible ? If I change in source code (Uphase=adc1_in5, Vphase=iadc1_in15), will it be problem ?
