STM32 MCUs Motor control

It looks like this was an issue with the pin reporting on our end.  Hello, We would like to use MC workbench, however we want to move from ADC1/2  to ADC12 for the current sense, VBUS and temperature NTC.  Is there a way to implement this alternate ADC configuration in MC workbench?  Hi Team,I am currently working on a 48V HALL sensored based BLDC motor control system (three-phase) using the STM32F405RGT6, DRV8300, and STP100N10F7 MOSFETs. The motor is running using six-step commutation PWM.Although the motor is rotating, I am experiencing significant noise during operation. I have tested PWM frequencies ranging from 12 kHz to 20 kHz and am currently using a dead time of 1.25 µs.Under no-load conditions, the phase outputs (U, V, and W) appear correct. However, when the motor is connected, the waveforms on all three phases become distorted and are not as expected.I have attached the output video and image for reference. Could you please suggest possible solutions to reduce the noise and improve the waveform quality? I have STEVAL-PTOOL4A connected to drive - 12V sensored BLDC motor - 2 pair poles - 16k rpm I faced 2 problems - First motor doesn't operate with potentiometer when used alone without the workbench- leds doesn't  light(( THE SYSTEM POWERED BY 12VDC 10A))

Hi,I'm trying to setup HSO on the G431, I used the B-G431B-ESC1 board as a starting guide. I'm trying to use differential sensing with internal OP-AMPs and internal PGA. I have split the currents and phase voltages across ADC1 and ADC2 but I still cannot get the HSO option to show up with MC workbench. I'm using the latest version. I have attached my board JSON file, any guidance will be appreciated.Thanks,Ray

Hi,I'm trying to control a BLDC motor connected to B-G431-ESC1 driver in Open Loop Voltage mode. With Motor Pilot control there's no problems. I'm not able to find the correct HAL commands to use for:A) Set Open Loop Voltage mode ( B) Set the reference voltageC) Set the speed in RPMStart, Stop, Ack Fault commands are ok. AI gave me a lot of indications but nothing seems work ok. Many thanks who will help me.Bye  Rossano

Hello.I'm trying to work with the B-G431B-ESC1 board.I've assembled a prototype consisting of the specified board, a T-Motor MN3510-13 KV700 motor, a 13*4.4L propeller, and a 4S battery. I'm using MC SDK v6.4.1.At first glance, everything seems to be working fine. The motor starts with the specified propeller and runs fine up to about 7500 RPM.Then problems begin as the RPM increases. Depending on the battery's discharge level, i.e., the bus voltage, at certain RPMs the program seems to lose control of the motor. The motor revs up, and RPM, current, and power fluctuate. I understand that at such RPMs and under such a load, the modulation index is high and approaches 100%. I'm essentially starting to hit the limit. But this response doesn't satisfy me. Previously, I tested this motor with the same propeller and battery using the STEVAL-ESC001V1 board. I approached the same limit, but there were no oscillations. Hi,I've been experimenting with the High Sensitive Observer using the B-G473E-ZEST1S and STEVAL-LVLP01 boards to control a BLDC motor. So far we have good results, however sometimes the HSO loses control, especially at very low speeds (<10 electrical rpm). To overcome this a restart is required so the pol pulse is triggered and the rotator angle can be found. I was wondering if there are strategies to fuse the HSO feedback with the Hall sensor to overcome these problems? I known the ZeST solutions solves this as well but this is not publicly available yet and for safety reasons we are required to have an physical sensor to read the motor position.Thanks,Tom de Winter

Hello,I purchased the Zest development board kit. I have personally tried HSO and found it quite good. I heard that the Zest algorithm can achieve full torque output at zero speed. I am very interested in this. Could I apply for it personally?

Hi,After reading HSO current and voltage sampling in three-shunt topology, I beleve it is possible to run two BLDC moters using the ST-G473 microprocessor using 2 ADC's per motor. However, there does not seem to be support for that in the MC Workbanch. Will this be available in the future?Regards, Kevin

Hi Team,I am working on a custom board with STSPIN32F0601S3, after generating code using MCSDK Version 6.3.0 with cube Mx 6.10.0, I tried to connect Motor pilot just start/stop and change RPM but it did not connect, Pls confirm which steps I am missingBelow are the steps I followed but still it did not connect 1.Uploaded and RUN code (using cube ide)2. RESET board3. Opened workbench and selected Motor Pilot but it leads to default App Mode (pls refer screenshot) not detecting firmware although code is in run mode and not able to use Motor pilot which was along with MCSDK Pack 6.3.0  

In MCSDK 6.2.0, it says "Selected hardware boards do not support this feature". In MCSDK 6.3.2, nothing.Why?Without this, it generates MC code using systick, and if adding FreeRTOS with CubeMX, I have to merge the systick handlers for FreeRTOS and MC and some other works. The change is "volatile" when generate code with CubeMX again.I'm heavily rely on CubeMX, so what's the solution?

I designed my own PCB based on the EVSTSPIN32G4 evaluation board and created a project in STM32Cube IDE. When testing the STSPIN32G4’s internal driver, I encountered an issue: no matter what I do, the GHS voltage remains at 5.8V, the GLS voltage is 0V, and the OUT voltage is also 5.8V. I have tried setting PE8 to high or ground, as well as using PWM, but the voltage on GHS1 never rises. Reading the I²C register values does not trigger any protection; the STBY value is 0 and does not enter low-power mode; the nFAULT pin remains low regardless. As far as I can tell, there are no errors. Could an expert please provide some guidance? For this purpose, I’m planning to use the STEVAL-CTM009V1 to drive a pump or traction motor similar to those used in forklifts.In general, forklifts with around 2-ton lifting capacity are based on a 48V architecture, and I already have access to such a system for testing.My main question is:Can I drive an ACIM (induction motor) with the STEVAL-CTM009V1? I’m not fully sure about its capabilities in this regard. If it is possible, are there any reference projects or examples that I can follow?Also, when using Motor Control Workbench, which control board would you recommend pairing with the STEVAL-CTM009V1?I should also mention that I’m already familiar with FOC concepts and have experience designing forklifts and telehandlers, but this will be my first time designing a motor driver from scratch, so I’d really appreciate any guidance or

I'm using an STM32G431 and MCSDK 6.4.1. It's a 340 VDC BLDC motor with two pairs of magnets, running in FOC mode with HAL sensors. The motor works well most of the time, but it often starts in the wrong direction and then returns to the correct direction after a few revolutions. This happens when trying to move forward or backward. Sometimes the motor goes into "hard commutation"—the current is higher at about half the normal current, and a sound indicates that the rotation isn't as smooth as usual. I tried adjusting the HALL_PHASE_SHIFT setting in 15-degree increments and settled on the smoothest rotation in both directions. Debugging the HAL sensors showed stable sector readings in both directions and no interference in these signals.What else can I try to make rotations reliable? Would an oscilloscope help?
