STM32 MCUs Wireless

Hi everyone,I have custom stm32wle board that is configured as dc-dc supply, and external 32MHz crystal with 6.8pF capacitors.I can read and write to/from radio registers but i can't transmit any data. Hello,On a custom board based on the STM32WL55JC1, I managed to flash a version of the LoRaEndNode application. However, when I run it, I observe an unusually high power consumption of around 70 mA.In contrast, when the board is in programming mode or when I run the PWR_Stop2_PeripheralNoRetention example, the current draw drops to about 6–7 mA, which matches the expected value based on my calculations.I can share the schematics and code if needed, but I suspect the high current consumption is related to the firmware behavior rather than any hardware leakage or residual current on the board.Is there a recommended way to reduce the power consumption of this application (AN5568 ?), or would it be better to start a new project from scratch? Do i need to code something in particular in

Hello STM Community,I’m currently working on measuring a LiPo battery voltage using one of the ADC inputs (AIN6) on an STM32WB55RG. The battery voltage ranges from approximately 3.0 V to 3.95 V. Since the ADC reference (Vref) is 3.3 V, I used a voltage divider (two 10 MΩ resistors) to scale the voltage to half its original value. In firmware, I then multiply the measured voltage by two to recover the actual battery voltage.However, I’ve observed that the measured ADC voltage is roughly three times lower than expected. This suggests there may be an additional internal resistance or loading effect influencing the measurement — possibly an internal parallel resistance within the ADC input path. I checked the datasheet and reference manual but couldn’t find any specifications confirming the presence or value of such an internal resistor.I’ve attached my tentative schematic for refer

How I get the software stack/firmware library stack with LoRaWAN for STM32WLE5xx MCU (other than Seed Studio Library) ?. In github, stm32wl repository only has a STM32WL55JC drivers alone. Is there any possibilities to get a firmware stack for STM32WLE5xx ? If anyone have an idea kindly let me know.

I am using the LoRaWAN_End_node application.  The application was working fine until I integrated the Low Power sample code.  The Sequencer appears to stop working (I suspect the timers are not working).  If I do not do add MX_LPTIM1_Init() in main everything appears to work.  The problem is without the LPTIM1 I can not wake up the processor. HAL_LPTIM_Counter_Start_IT(&hlptim1,(2000 * LSI_VALUE / 1000)); HAL_PWREx_EnterSTOP2Mode(PWR_STOPENTRY_WFI); Thanks for the help. 

Hello,I'm developing a battery-powered application for the STM32WB55 (specifically the STM32WB55RGV6) and am seeing periodic pulses or spikes in the SoC's current consumption every 200ms in STOP2 and standby modes. These pulses occur with the Nucleo board MB1355-C02 as well, though the pulses have a different shape on the Nucleo board than the ones I can observe on the board I designed. I have tried the demo firmware in addition to my own, and observe the pulses with it as well.A couple other notes:The pulse period is reduced with increasing ambient temperature. If I point a hair dryer at the board, the pulse period gets much shorter.The pulses occur when running the boards off of an isolated battery supply as well as a typical benchtop DC power supply.I have tried setting all of the pins possible to analog input in order to isolate the STM32WB55 as much as possible from outside circuits, but this didn't help with the pulses.

Hi all,I am using the STM32WB55CEU6 to share data using BLE technology. I have designed a customized PCB based on my requirements. I fully configured the STM32CubeIDE .ioc file according to ST’s reference documents. However, I am not getting any output — the BLE device name is not showing up in the ST BLE Toolbox application. I am not sure what the exact problem is in my case. Below, I have attached my schematic design and RF part in my design     Note: Polygon is applied on my RF part,if it is correct?.I have one question:When I checked the IC before mounting it onto my PCB, I noticed that Pin 21 (RF1) and Pin 49 are internally connected. Dear Community,I have the B-WBA5M-WPAN module and trying to get a basic OpenThread Project working with Demo Code provided.The Demo Code provided for the module is not sufficient - I am trying to change LED Color when button B2 is pressed.I am trying to copy code examples for the NUCLEO-WBA55CG, but it is not working as there any many dependencies in the BSP file unique to the NUCLEO Board.I also can't find a proper Application Note for the module.Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hello,We made a custom pcb with STM32WLE5CC MCU, and with the IPD BALFHB-WL-05D3. You'll find in attachement the schematic.We use the STM32CubeWL software. Hello ST Team, I am Ramya Ranganathan from Karaka eDrives. I am working on the STM32WB5MM-DK discovery kit and used STM32CubeMonitor-RF  BLE Transmit and Receive data with two different boards. The packets are missing even less than 1 meter distance. The above Test is done at distance of 23 Centimeters only. Is there need for any modification in settings to achieve long distance and reduce the Packet Data Rate(PER).Thanks in Advance.  

Hi, After configured the GPIO pins via STM32CudeMX and generated the code, when I run the firmware, the "WWDG_IRQHhandler()" problem keep appearing from no way and hinder me from the rest of the development. Please see the attached screen shoot picture. Even after I commented out the customize codes the problem didn't go away. Same problem seen on the P-NUCLEO-DONGLE too. I configured the MCU to support "USB HID + Zigbee".   Any help?   

I am using the LoRaWAN end-node dual-core demo on an STM32WL5M.  I noticed the RAM_SHARED section in the .LD files of each core project points to different addresses, one to 0x20008000 and one to 0x20009000.  Is this a potential issue?

Hello,I’m working on a project with the STM32WB55 where I use BLE (which is working fine) and also want to use the RTC Calendar. The project was generated with STM32CubeMX, RTC is using LSE.The problem:The RTC calendar runs, but its time counting is incorrect.Instead of incrementing one minute (60 seconds), it only increments 4 seconds per minute.What I tried:In app_conf.h, in the section with RTC-related macros, I modified CFG_RTCCLK_DIVIDER_CONF to different values (16, 8), but the issue remains the same.In main.cpp, during RTC initialisation:hrtc.Init.AsynchPrediv = CFG_RTC_ASYNCH_PRESCALER; hrtc.Init.SynchPrediv = CFG_RTC_SYNCH_PRESCALER;

Hello, I’m facing an issue with the STM32WLE5JC controller after flash programming. After programming, the controller does not automatically reset. It only starts working after manually turning the power OFF and ON. In these cases, I've observed the following: Sometimes the controller enters an idle or hang state. When the watchdog timer expires, instead of resetting, the controller stays in idle. After a manual power cycle, the controller works as expected. It seems the issue occurs specifically when the automatic reset after programming does not happen. Any insights or suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.

In X-CUBE-MATTER, how are the Basic Information Cluster attributes NodeLabel, ManufacturingDate, and UniqueId configured? Are they fixed values, or does the user need to implement their setting? Also, are these set using the ZAP Tool?Regarding UniqueId, I believe a truly unique value should be used. Is it implemented that way currently, or does this functionality need to be added?
