I'm using Keil IDE and cubeMX code generator.I've used I2C1 and I2C3 in my board with stm32f407 microcontroller and used cubeMX for generating initial codes. I've tried to use I2C3 and it didn't work but I2C1 worked correctly.I've tested cubeMX code generator in my stmf429 discovery board and the same issue. I2C1 worked and I2C3 didn't work.I have found a website that has very good libraries with drivers but not as complete as stm's, in that libraries all I2Cs work properly.Does CubeMX code generator has some problems in I2C or not?Thank you Best regaurds #auto-corrected-dyslexia #cubemx #i2c-stm32f4

Posted on February 23, 2015 at 22:49In attempting to validate a schematic design in progress I used CubeMX to verify that none of the I/O assignments and peripheral functions being called out in the schematic were going to conflict.  I noticed that at least 3 ADC channels that appear to be valid according to the data sheet, but through CubeMX they are not selectable.PA2/ADC2 PA7/ADC7PC2/ADC12Overall CubeMX is a great product, looking forward to this being fixed. #stm32l152 #cubemx #adc

Posted on February 19, 2015 at 05:25I , just installed the updated version of STM32 MAT target 4.0 version in my matlab 2014a . now there is one  block regarding MCU Configuration in which , I have to provide one .ioc file for configuration . My question is when i tried to include any other blocks such as dac adc etc...there is one error pop out on screen like  configuration must be done before.  how to rectify this error? #stm32f4 #adc #dma #stm32cubemx

Posted on March 05, 2015 at 01:01My EE was using CubeMX for a 407 and noticed that a lot of the pins can be declared as being GPIO_ANALOG, even if the pins have no analog alternate functions and are not able to be routed to ADCs or DACs.I declared PE0 as GPIO_ANALOG and Cube did generate code to load PE0's mode register with analog, and running the code didn't generate any asserts, but what does that mean?Is this a CubeMX bug or is there some undocumented semantics that I'm missing? Posted on October 27, 2014 at 00:34I am trying to get a USB CDC Device demo working on an STM32F4 Discovery board (with the STM32F407) with code from the STM32CubeMX generator application. The process has been murky at best, hopefully one of you can set me straight. So far, I have configured the project in STM32CubeMX, exported the code, merged the src and inc files with my project template (to use arm gcc). Included in my project template is the CMSIS, HAL and USB driver libraries. Additionally, I have updated my Makefile to build all of the required files. Posted on December 13, 2014 at 21:21 STM32CubeMX 4.5.0 generates the following code for multichannel ADC /**Configure for the selected ADC regular channel to be converted. */ sConfig.Channel = ADC_CHANNEL_1|ADC_CHANNEL_6|ADC_CHANNEL_8; HAL_ADC_ConfigChannel(&hadc, &sConfig); But HAL_ADC_ConfigChannel stm32l0xx_hal_adc.c V1.1.0 has assert_param(IS_ADC_CHANNEL(sConfig->Channel)); which crashes because IS_ADC_CHANNEL() checks for a single channel, not a set. The fix is to comment out this assert_param(). I have not checked whether ADC actually works. Are there any examples of actual conversions using stm32l0xx_hal_adc.c ? Posted on December 04, 2014 at 10:33I am developing an application using the Serial Audio Interface of the STM32F429ZITx.There appears to be a problem in the code generated by STM32CubeMX.The DMA handle hdma_sai1_a is declared as a global variable in main.c.The same variable name is declared as static within the scope of the function HAL_SAI_MspInit() in stm32f4xx_hal_msp.c.The consequence of this is that the DMA2_Stream1_IRQHandler() function uses the incorrect un-initialised DMA handle and no transfer complete callbacks are invoked.Workaround:Remove definition of hdma_sai1_a from HAL_SAI_MspInit().Add ''extern DMA_HandleTypeDef hdma_sai1_a;'' to  stm32f4xx_hal_msp.c.Configuration:MCU : STM32F429ZITxSTM32CubeMX : v4.5.0STM32Cube FW : v1.3.0

Posted on December 08, 2014 at 19:59I thought it would be instructive to look at the examples using the STM32CubeMX application. The ''Load Project'' dialog only looks for .ico files and I find none in all of the examples. Was this application used for none of the examples or does the executable look for a different file type?Or am I totally misunderstanding the purpose of STM32CubeMX. I thought it was to provide a starting point for a project. Do most folks just start with an appropriate template and use that instead?thanks,hank #stm32cubemx

Posted on December 12, 2014 at 15:54Hi, I'm trying to read an encoder using the encoder interface provided by the STM32F3Discovery board. I've set up the peripherals using CubeMX and connected the encoder to the input pins (tried with timer 1 and 2), but the CNT register doesn't seem to get updated.I tried declaring the same pins as GPIO (Input mode) and blinking leds when the input is 1, and they seem to work properly (so I guess the encoder is fine).Can anybody tell me what's going on? When the FMC controller was initialized using the generated code from STM32CubeMX with BANK1 initialized before BANK2, I got an error when reading from the BANK1 device (starting at address 0xC0000000) - it was returning only 2 times the LSB instead of MSB:LSB (e.g. I wrote 0x1234 and I read back 0x3434). I was inspecting my PCB many times, looking at the signals with my scope (unfortunately I do not have a logical analyzer), but everything seemed ok to me.When I was only using the BANK1 device or only BANK2 device (the other one was left uninitialized), everything worked properly, but when I wanted to use both devices, I had to initialize first the BANK2 and then the BANK1 device. Posted on November 06, 2014 at 13:25When selecting the STM32L152 discovery board in CubeMX the microcontroller is set to STM32L152RC while my STM32L152 discovery board has the STM32L152RB microcontroller. If I understand correctly the older discovery boards come with the xxxRB microcontrller and newer ones come with xxxRC. Can you please add the previous generation discovery board in the next version of CubeMX? Thank you. P.S. Also, why is it configured to run at 2.097MHz speed from the MSI clock by default as shown in the clock configuration tool? However the generated code in stm32f4xx_hal_conf.h defines LSI_VALUE wrongly as 40000.Is this a bug or how can I make the correct value appear in the generated source code? #stm32cubemx-lsi_value

Posted on October 20, 2014 at 10:58Hi all, Yesterday I tried to align my project developed with CubeMX 4.3.1 to the recent 4.4.0 version.I did itmainly to overcome a SysTickInit issue with FreeRTOS configuration. Since the regenerated project compiles but won't start, I noticed the following error: Generating a project using the attached file with CubeMX 4.3.1 will generate a correct main.c file. Generating a project using the attached file with CubeMX 4.4.0 will generate a main.c file in which all the MX_XXXX_Init(void) routines do not contain the related HAL_XXXX_Init(&yyyy) function call.Can someoneexplainthis behavior? The system hangs in the HardFault_Handler.I have replaced the code in SysTick_Handler as mentioned in the fora by ST employees to:if (xTaskGetSchedulerState() != taskSCHEDULER_NOT_STARTED)   {     xPortSysTickHandler();   }   HAL_IncTick(); but this is irrelevant, since the device branches to the HardFault_Handler before ever reaching the SysTick_Handler.

Posted on July 07, 2014 at 13:26Hi, Up to MX 4.2.0 it newer happends, but after upgrade MX to 4.3.0 time to time all user project  files are deleted in project folder!. STM32CubeF4  1.3.0 Windows 7 x64,  Eclipse 4.3.2 + STM32CubeMX 4.3.0 plugin. It quite offten - after regenerate project all files created not by STM32Cube are gone! Anybody can confirm that? SOLVED: Before regeneration I alwas save project using icon with two disc - now is ''Save the Project in a new file''. AFAIR always done that and I sure before works different way - not delete user files ------------------------------------------------------- From MX 4.3.0 ''Save the current Project'' (one disc icon) keeps user files ''Save the Project in a new file'' (two disc icon) delete all - include user files and create project from begining ----------------------------
