STM32CubeProgrammer (MCUs)

 

I just downloaded and installed both STM32CubeIDE and STM32CubeProgrammer.They both forcibly installed with user-spying phone-home features how I use the software, while only mentioning how to disable the feature after they have been installed.So, the spying feature is on by default, and there is even no option to opt-out of the feature at install stage.I don't believe this is GDPR compliant and thus illegal in the EU. Please fix this before someone makes a GDPR report of this and you get fined.If you start harassing your users with spying features, I can also start taking my money elsewhere and buy other MCUs.

After applying the patch: The STM32G431RB appears in the device selection list. The project builds successfully. Hi,I'm facing something strange.I'm trying to program a STM32U5G9 (disco board).It was a success, but since I've updated the cubeProgrammer Tool it's not working anymore.I'm trying to program a 935kB binarie file.According to the log file, CubeProgrammer erase the 62 first sectors (62 x 8 kB = 496 kB ==> 0x7C000) and start to write.During the verifying phase, it fails @ 0x0807 C000, corresponding to the start of flash (0x0800 0000) plus the offset previously mentionned.Checking the memory with the "Device Memory" view in CubeProgrammer, I see that the memory is not the right one.What is strange, is that it happens after I update the cubeProgrammer (from 2.11 I think to 2.18)The same happens on CubeIde after an update.Everything is fine if I do a mass erase before writting, but as I am using a virtual Eeprom on flash (package en.x-cube-eeprom-v7-0-0) I don't want to erase completely the flash, otherwise, I'm

STM32CubeProgrammer v2.13 was giving me the famous "Failed to execute MI command" and "Failed to download Segment[0]" errors within the STM32CubeIDE, so I downloaded the standalone STM32CubeProgrammer v2.10 and it works fine. The IDE still uses v2.13, so how do I downgrade that one to v2.10 so I can program my chip through the IDE?

Hi all, I am working on my own program using the API provided with the stm32Cubeprogrammer V2.18 to flash custom bootlader and programs over USB in dfu mode. The problem I had was when I tried to flash a custom bootloader, the function connectDfuBootloader threw this error: Error: Database cannot be found. DatabasePath = /../Data_Base/STM32_Prog_DB_0x415.xml Error: CUBEPROGRAMMER_ERROR_NOT_SUPPORTED After a few attempts I realized I had to put the Data_base folder 3 folders up from the executable file so the program can find that file. This is not a major problem but I can't find any function within the API that allows me to change that path, so do anyone knows another way to change this?ThanksKind regards   

Hello, I am trying to configure RTC time and date register from STM32CubeProgrammer CLI but as for now I am facing issues only. I am programming my STM32F423RHT6. But due to some reason, suddenly I am unable to code the MCU. The connection is getting lost for some reason. I don't know what is the reason for this behavior.  I am attaching my code along with this message. The debugger which I use is an external debugger of stm32. I tried changing TCXO, tried changing the same CHIP. Voltage levels are as per the data sheet. For the 1st few times of programming, am able to flash the code.  Hi @Igor Cesko I am experiencing connection issues with STM Cube programmer when connecting ST LINK debugger.The controller part number i am using is STM32G491MCT.Getting "Error Target device held under rest", I can connect only if I change the ST link configuration to Hotplug mode.Even after connecting sometimes it shows "there is no active configuration".I am unable to program the controller.Kindly help me to get resolve with the issue as early as possible.

Hi, We are trying to write some key values directly into a particular address of NVM from STM32Cubeprogrammer, but rest of the sector are also getting erased. Is there any way to prevent it? Tested with Cubeprogrammer CLI also, but facing the same issue.

Using an STLINK-V3PWR, I can connect to the device in Normal, Under Reset, and hwRstPulse modes, but when I select Hot plug mode, I get an error "No STM32 target found." I've been tasked with trying to connect to this board without resetting it, but am at a loss about where to start with troubleshooting. I've tried changing various other configuration settings, but have not found anything that will allow hot plug connection.

Hi!I am currently developing an application using the LVGL library. Since I’m working with a display, I need extra memory to store all the data. To address this, I acquired a display module from Riverdi (based on the STM32H747xx), and they provided me with an .stldr file to program the QSPI flash.However, I am not using STM32CubeIDE because I prefer not to work with it. Instead, I’d like to use STM32CubeProgrammer to load the .stldr file and program the QSPI flash.My question is: how can I properly use STM32CubeProgrammer with my custom .stldr file to program the QSPI flash and my program at the same time?The stldr file is for communicating with the flash through the debugger? Thank you!

I have tried to download the STM32CubeProgramme in Firefox, Edge and Chrome, and when i try to get the software the html of buttons to donwload are broken, nothing apear, and i don't know what to do anymore, i need this to flash my firmware, the official link: https://www.st.com/en/development-tools/stm32cubeprog.html, exist another link? SourceForge or some alternative that i can trust to donwload it?  

Hi,i am able to find function that i have in my code in the build analyser, but not all of them. Neither with the map, elf or bin file. I even restarted my PC.I used the search function in the build analyser. I found some "xxx.o" and "*fill*" "functions" though.

I have just purchased a STM32H573I-DK Discovery board, only to find it doesn't appear to recognise the ST-link V3.  Is this a true problem, or just me, and is there a solution?

System: Macbook Pro M2 OS Ventura 13.4.1 and ST-Link Server 2.1.I can't access the serial port of the STLink nor with the ST32Programmer because it doesn't recognize the STLink correctly. On my Intel Mac with OS Ventura there are no problems.Does anyone know a solution , thanks in advance

We would like to programm an external Flash connected to an STM32U575 with STM32Programmer v2.18.0, ST-Link V2 and a self made ExternalLoader. When we use sector erase and erase all with STM32Programmer CLI it reports success, but nothing happens on the external Flash. I'm trying to interact with the external flash on the STM32H573I-DK, and having some issues. I'm using the `MX25LM51245G_STM32H573I-DK-RevB.stldr` external loader.Using the J-Link, I can read the flash and erase sectors, but the program immediately crashes when I try to program a file. Hello,In one of my boards I was planing to use CANBUS bootloader and STLink V3 with external canbus PHY to program MCU.I was unable to program it, I can see STlink V3 does try to do some TX on CANBUS pin, but where is no packet available that could be decoded, just train of same duty cycle pulses.Does any one had luck with STLink V3 and external CANBUS programming ?
